I reached out to Apollo to address a gas leak and furnace cleaning in a SFR in Gresham Oregon. I was told they would send a tech out the next day, which they did. I was told by the receptionist that booked the appointment it would cost $75 and that amount would be credited to any repair. When the tech arrive he told me it would be $189 and those funds would not credited to any repair. Since he was on site, I agreed and said go ahead check it out. I told them the furnace was 25 years old if cleaning it would not resolve the issue, I did not want to repair it, replacing it was the only option for me, so don't waste you time. They came back with a repair estimate (which I didn't request) of just under 7K to which I said agin, I would never repair it, I would like to buy a new furnace. So they called out a project manager and he was to get back to me with a quote on costs to replace. I had asked for 3 quotes high, medium and low product quotes, which I told them I would comparison shop. I never received a quote or a call back so I called them up asking for the info. They told me since I was a comparison shopper and they weren't the cheapest I wasn't a good fit as a customer, and I would not be receiving a quote or the information on what type of furnace I would need. What I did receive was a $389 bill for the original inspection. Needless to say this company wasted my time and over charged me twice from the original quote of $75. I would not recommend them EVER! UPDATE: I moved forward with my search to replace my 25 year old furnace. In my first phone call to Columbia NW Heating, I received the info that as a rental property owner, if I replaces my old furnace with a new energy efficient furnace, at this time, I will receive a $1600 immediate rebate. This information was never shared with me by any of the Apollo's many employees that tried to assist me. read more

As you might expect if you're going to have a sink fail it's going to fail in between Christmas and New years, so I had no expectation of being able to get somebody to come out and take care of it until after the New Year. To my surprise not only could Apollo come before the new year but they actually showed up the next day, this was not an emergency so that was a pleasant surprise. Tyler the service person was pleasant, knowledgeable and got the job done on time and on budget which given this kind of service is pretty much all you can ask for. Even though this was a single experience I would still highly recommend these people especially Tyler. read more

I had an excellent experience with Apollo Plumbing from the first call to the completed project. I needed a new bathroom vanity and hardware installed. I called around Portland and could find no plumbers who were even willing to provide an estimate within a two week period let alone work on the project --- except Apollo Plumbing who when I explained the situation made an effort to schedule appointment as soon as possible. The customer service was off the charts good. Apollo sent journeyman plumber Bryan Haberlach who was very knowledgeable, skilled, and professional. He expertly completed the project the same day, and contacted me later that day to make certain I was satisfied with finished project. OK so for a similar project I contacted six different plumbers Apollo was one of them. Their reply was great their information was thorough but they said they would charge me $75 just for a consultation if I did not hire them. I do not appreciate that they feel their time is so valuable that they can't even bother to just come out and look at a problem before they decide to help or not. I bid is for them as much as for me and so it makes no sense to me to pay for some thing if I found someone else to have a better value or more of an appropriate fit for the skill level that I needed the work to be done. I do appreciate that their time is worth money but so is mine I'm taking a risk just as much as they are so I understand why they charge for jobs they don't get but I disagree with the reasoning behind it. I have family members that are contractors and members that are plumbers and have been for over 40 years. No one in my family has ever charged in this way and none of the other six people that I spoke with was plumbing companies local to the area had such a fee so I'm disappointed to find that they did because they were better at communication than some of the others so I don't know what their work quality is like I cannot speak to that, so I would check other reviews to see how their work actually is because I do not know. But I gave them a lower score because if I have to worry about just getting a bid through or not it's not worth the fee. read more

Spent $4k with them and they didn't fix the problem. The estimator described the work they were going to do then asked me to sign his tablet which had completely different work outlined from what he'd just described verbally. It was $435 to jet out a gutter downspout drain which showed the end was clogged with roots. Told me they would dig up the end and replace it. Ended up replacing a 5' section of pipe in the middle for $3568, while the end is still clogged with roots and doesn't drain. read more

We've had service for both our tankless waterheater and our split duct HVAC system in Beaverton (which was great!) but also just had them over to our place in Welches to help install an exterior spigot and take care of some other upgrades to help with winterization of our cabin. Great service and warranty. Apollo installed a CIPP lining, with a 10-year warranty, for a sewer pipe when I purchased a property several years ago. When selling the property, the inspection uncovered a potential issue. Called Apollo and quickly got on the schedule to have Kevin come take a look. He quickly identified the issue, a very minor one, and had services set up for the following day to fix it. Dylan and his crew arrived early the next day, fixed the issue quickly, provided videos plus written documentation and had it resolved quickly. Everything was covered under warranty, so no cost to me or the buyer. From my first call to resolution was less than 3 days. Our tech, Jonathan Rowlett showed up today and explained the job again, walking me through everything before he started. It was a smooth install and he checked in frequently to advise us and involved us in bleeding the lines. As all projects go, unforeseen circumstances dictated a trip to the hardware store, but he stayed with it and worked late on Halloween night. They sent someone out, he got here and said the job was too big and made it seem like it was going to be really expensive. Said he would take videos for the estimator while he was here and they would get back to us with a quote. Apparently the office never saw the videos because on the phone they didn't know what I was talking about and wanted to schedule another appointment for the estimate, pushing our project back even longer (we just want a shower!) Then after another week of waiting they called and canceled the estimate. I had a reliable independent plumber come out and fix everything in 4 hours for a reasonable rate, which is what I should have done in the first place. Apollo still charged me $75 for that initial visit to come say they couldn't fix anything. I knew there was a $75 fee but assumed that it was if we refused their service not them refusing to serve us. *UPDATE 7/2/21* Apollo responded to this review saying they would credit my $75 back but I have yet to see any credit on my account. It appears they just said that to look better on Yelp and for that, my rating is going down from 2 stars to 1. I will update again if they actually give me a credit. read more

We discovered that our basement drain was backed up around noon, and Apollo originally gave us an ETA of 5-8 PM. Devin Pace was able to complete a job early and got to us 20 minutes after our initial call! Devin was polite, courteous, and able to explain and show us what was going on quickly and simply. Devin was kind and efficient and able to get us back in working order two hours before the original dispatch ETA. Wow! We could not be happier with Devin's service and Apollo as a company. Had a clogged drain line and needed a few dampers opened. The guys came drained the water pan and cleared the clog. The thing that irritated me was one of the guys tried to charge me and extra $75 dollars just to open the vent dampers when he was up where they were anyway. Sounds sketchy they wanted to charge $550 but he removed the $75 once I made an issue of it. The issue I have is that they can show up and tack on excessive charges then try to rationalize them. The late great Ray Charles could have seen through this scam to upsale the customer. They will do the job but for $200 over the estimate. In this case I had no choice but to use them. read more

Low flow kitchen sink, $580 later and is still low flow. $900 for new toilet that is louder, shorter (despite "standard size") and still not filling. Will be calling in morning to cancel our membership fee and calling around to another company to fix our "fixed" problems. $956, I'm not making this up! Yesterday Apollo gave me a quote of $956 to replace a leaky elbow on 1/2 inch cpvc waterline. It was in my crawl space but easily accessible with stand-up headroom at the leak. Why so much I asked, it's $5 worth of parts and no doubt will take you less than an hour. He replied that it was their flat rate for replacing the elbow. I paid the $75 required minimum estimate fee and said no thanks. I bought 2ft of 1/2" cpvc, an elbow, and 2 couplings for $5 at H. Depot. Fixed it myself in an hour after watching a couple how to videos. If you want to get ripped off call Apollo. read more

Please do not use this company for small/residential jobs!! Pros: work was completed very quickly and efficiently, and they were communicative. Cons: they charged us $560 (originally $680, but we were eligible for $130 discount) for only 30-40 minutes of work. Everyone knows that life is getting more expensive, but I was blown away at the cost of this fix due to the time and nature of the repair. They knew we were desperate for our water to be back on, and I feel as though they prayed upon that, and that we got ripped off because of it. They did provide us with quote beforehand, but we had to accept that price because we'd been without water for three days and really had no choice - all other companies were booked out for weeks. I called to request an itemized invoice to see why such a quick fix was so expensive, or if they could reduce the payment, and they told me that they charge a flat fee, and that's just their pricing structure. Their AR lady Kryston was as helpful and understanding as she could be, but the Supervisor Steve could not care less that they charged us an outrageous amount, and was not sympathetic nor concerned with the situation. I know they don't care, but we feel taken advantage of and will never be using their services again. read more

We had a major water leak occur while out of town. Our neighbor first reported it and was able to go out to our main and turn off the water. We asked a friend with plumbing background but not licensed if they could diagnose the problem. He indicated he could tell the leak was near the main line because when the main turned on they immediately could see water bubbling up from the ground and filling the main box but wasn't sure without digging it up. Because we knew he wasn't licensed we called a number of plumbers listed on Yelp. Apollo was the first one to respond over the weekend with someone available the following Tuesday to head out. From our ring camera we could see Apollo show up, took a few photos and then sat in there truck and wrote up a few estimates. Never did it appear they try and do any real investigative work. I was informed by the tech Jordy that because water takes path of least resistance and was underground they had no idea where the leak may be (though I provided the information from our non licensed plumber friend that it most likely was within a foot of two of the main. He went on to give me the following quotes. 1.) $3727 including residential leak detection AND if we signed up for a monthly membership of $19.99 required for one year (or $199 for early cancellation) 2.)$5700 for not performing leak detection AND if we signed up for a monthly membership of $19.99 required monthly for one year (or $199 early cancellation) for one M off pvc repair with the risk it could be more if they didn't find it within the one M. 3.) $10,147 for replacing the water line from the meter to the house. The wire indicates my crawl space was flooded with water however they never inspected our crawl space. I was then charged $75 for the visit and quotes in which I was given no additional information than I had already given. Because I was out of town and couldn't dig up the line myself I chose to hire my own leak detection agency which cost approximately $350. They found the leak within minutes which essentially was a foot away where the irrigation and house line T'd. The leak detection even had the line dug up and exposed in fifteen minutes based on the water bubbling and filling the box so quickly. From there I hired another plumber who replaced the T and got water back on with less than sam hours work. Total cost was less than $900 (with Leah detection and plumber work. That means Apollo was nearly $3000 over what it should have been quoted or nearly 4x more. I am disappointed with Apollo for charging $75 for their consultation, not providing any additional info to the situation and trying to gouge us. It really felt as if they were trying to use the circumstances of us being out of town to take advantage of the situation and going as far as making up or crawl space has been flooded. read more

The "technician" (not a licensed plumber as far as I could tell) they sent out was nice enough and eventually did an adequate job, but their charges were ridiculous. It worked out to about $500/hour! Since we bundled two simple jobs with one of unknown complexity the initial estimate seemed plausible. The potentially complex job ended up being fairly simple too, but they stuck to their billing and we got taken badly. Avoid this outfit! read more
