I've tried to go to the Apollo bagel in West Village numerous times, but didn't feel like waiting in a long line. I walked past this location without knowing it was here and there was no wait! I understand the hype. The bagel was doughy and fluffy, and they warmed it up. There was the right amount of cream cheese. For the toppings, it felt like every component was prepared. The salmon was soft and tender. The dill didn't feel like it was picked right off the plant - it was soft and actually edible (you know how you usually pick the dill off bc it scratches your mouth?). Same with the capers. There was some sort of olive oil or lemon that they also put that enhanced the flavor. It all worked like a symphony in my mouth. The inside is spacious and offers lots of seating. read more

This is probably my favorite bagel in Brooklyn. While I'm not a New York native, I visit here often, and I'm always on the hunt for a great breakfast sandwich and coffee. As far as bagels go, Apollos are elite. They keep it simple and offer three different kinds: Plain, Everything and Sesame. My go-to is the everything bagel with tomatoes and cream cheese. The drizzle of olive oil they add to the top of it with the cracked pepper is so good. I also generally grab a cold brew on tap, and that is equally amazing and strong. They have a good amount of seating inside, but I only take my items to go. Their entire team is friendly, and even when it gets busy, they do an incredible job of placing orders and getting you in and out quickly. I definitely recommend this joint when you're on the hunt for a bagel in New York. read more

Don't come for me, but Apollo Bagel is elite. I went to the Williamsburg location. There was a small line, but it moved fast. I ordered the tomato and cream cheese on an everything bagel and honestly... it slaps!!! The bagel had the perfect crunch-to-soft ratio. Not too dense, not too airy. The heirloom tomato slices were fresh and ripe, finished with an olive oil drizzle and cracked pepper that pulled everything together. Simple and delicious! Obsessed!! read more

So GOOD I visited twice before leaving. Lol These bagels are hands down BOMBBBBB!!!! Crispy outside, chewy inside, only NEW YORK gives you the THICK spread. OH YES!! the bagels are freshly baked & the orange juice is freshly squeezed. Couldn't get any better than that. The lines get LONG, looks like their lox is a very popular choice. But original is always the best! It is pretty loud inside, a lot of conversations happening lol. So if this isn't your vibe, grab the bagel and sit at the park with beautiful views. I find that most NYC bagels aren't that different from storebought bagels, but these bagels definitely are! They have a spongier and chewier texture, while still being crispy on the outside. The bagel with cream cheese and tomato came with the perfect amount of oil and seasoning on top too. The line here was long, but moved very fast, so it's a good spot for a quick bite. read more

Took one of their everything bagels to go- nothing on it. And went home to dress it up and they were good but nothing to write home about. I went Christmas Eve so no line. The sandwich prices are super expensive and even an everything bagel with nothing was $3ish i believe. The seating is no frills just basics tables and there's a lot of room. Don't taste much different that they are sourdough but i did get the everything bagel, so maybe that's why. read more

Let's call it an incomplete rating, as plain, sesame and everything were the only options but the everything was sold out. I don't normally get my bagels at industrial chic spaces but it was nice to get out of the rain, and the scallion cream cheese put in the extra work to compensate for the non-everything situation. I wasn't feeling ambitious on this post-Smorgasburg stop but it seems the marquee item is the Insta-friendly smoked salmon with dill. read more

Service was quick, though the waiting area can get pretty crowded with folks waiting for their orders. The menu is pretty simple, not full of 20 different cream cheeses and doesn't have 10 different types of bagels. The juices are great, I will give them that. The fresh squeezed OJ and the Ginger lemonade were my favorite as I'm not a coffee drinker. Are the bagels good? Yes they are, but also I think they're a bit over hyped. The crispy outer with the fluffy inner is nice, but you have to have them there as they are as enjoyable when they're cold. Overall, I think it's just the currently trendy bagel spot. Bagel shop -- stopped in around 11 AM on a Thursday morning. It was moderately busy, with most of the tables filled and a steady flow of people coming in to order or pick up their food. The smell when you first walk through the door is incredible -- that fresh-baked bread aroma that instantly makes you hungry. The menu is simple and focused: only three bagel options (plain, sesame, and everything). Honestly, I think that's a good sign -- when a place specializes this much, you know they're aiming to do it right. I went with an everything bagel with cream cheese, and my friend got the smoked salmon on an everything bagel. Both were excellent. The bagels themselves had that perfect sourdough chew, with a crisp outside and soft inside. I'm a huge sourdough fan, so the fact that these are sourdough bagels already had me sold. The cream cheese was fresh and plentiful, and the smoked salmon was high quality, well-portioned, and balanced perfectly with the bagel. I'd absolutely come back here again and plan to make it a regular stop whenever I'm in New York. It feels like the kind of place that will always hit the spot. read more

It had the flavor and texture of cream cheese, just a little different, slight yogurty flavor. It was fun to try but there's a $1 upcharge so I think I would stick with normal cream cheese next time. Tomato slices were fresh and flavorful. Everything bagel was the perfect texture and flavors. Everything bagel w/ smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onion, dill - This is the one to get! The combination of its parts made for the perfect harmony of flavors. All of the ingredients were extremely fresh. Capers provided some nice acidity to contrast the smoked salmon. Red onion for the extra texture and freshness. The very generous amount of dill really gave the entire bagel a nice pop of fresh dill flavor. Everything bagel was again perfect. Perfectly toasted. I was skeptical when my friend hyped up the tomato bagel from Apollo Bagels saying it was one of her favorites in Brooklyn. How good could it be? I had to know! I stopped by before work on Wednesday since it was close to the L. Fortunately, there were only a couple people in line and I waited less than 10 minutes for my bagel. BAGEL WITH CREAM CHEESE AND TOMATO - 7 I got this with a sesame bagel and light cream cheese. I couldn't eat it immediately after I got it, and my first bite was actually 30 minutes later. But wow, it was so delicious... yet so simple? It's literally just a sesame bagel (toasted), light layer of plain cream cheese), two tomato slices, and some seasoning. The tomatoes were sweet and very high-quality, which went well with the seasoning they used. The bagel wasn't too thick, but it was still very filling and got me through the entire morning and partially in the afternoon. The tomato bagel was a solid bagel choice and definitely a top 2 out of the recent ones I've had in the past year. It's a simple bagel with flavors that really wowed me. read more

The first time I tried apollo bagels was at the east village location, and I didn't understand the hype. It was during the winter time and there wasn't any seating inside. My bagels got cold after a few pictures (that's on me) and it just wasn't that great. The second time was at this location, and it was definitely a lot better. The numerous locations that popped up all over NYC made these bagels more easily available, which means minimal wait time. This location also has an ample amount of seating. We got the white fish salad on an every thing bagel and it was delicious! The flavors from white fish, cucumber and dill = perfection. Time is of the essence when it comes to these! Stopped by Apollo Bagels in Williamsburg and there was no line at all, which made for a quick and easy stop. The space is pretty big with plenty of seating, so it's a great spot if you want to hang out and enjoy your bagel there instead of just grabbing it to go. The open faced tomato sandwich is to die for. I would recommend subbing the cream cheese with scallion cream cheese, and it's completely worth it. I ordered the sandwich on an everything bagel and I typically don't love raw tomatoes, but this one just melted into the cream cheese and the drizzle of olive oil and pepper was so delicious. It was really cool you could taste each individual ingredient and it all felt really high-quality. This was such an amazing flavor combo and after I ate this for breakfast, I also wanted to go back for lunch and order the same thing. read more

The line was nearly out the door when we got there. But it went quickly. Their menu is small: three types of bagels (plain, sesame, everything), your choice of butter, cream cheese, lox, or tomato, and that's it - simple, delicious bagels. Very nice crust, but I prefer a less airy, more dense bagel. They have plenty of seating but it's not the type of place to get comfortable. Understandable since they are so busy. read more

There are plenty of bagel shops near our hotel, but Apollo stood out to me. We stopped by late in the morning, and it wasn't crowded. I usually go for a salmon lox bagel when I'm in the mood for something hearty, but they had something I'd never tried before--a whitefish salad bagel. As someone from Texas, this was a novelty! The whitefish was fresh, creamy, topped beautifully with cucumber slices and plenty of dill. The bagel itself was perfect, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. We also shared a sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese, which was rich and flavorful. This place is bigger than most bagel shops I've been to. If I'm back in the area again, I'll definitely return for their salmon lox! read more

Such a good bagel I immediately started dreaming of how I could re-create this at home. I got the veggie bagel which included cucumbers, tomato, capers, red onions, and dill on top of an everything bagel. The scallion cream cheese was incredible, but the hallmark of this bagel was really how fluffy the inside of the bagel was while also maintaining that nice crisp on the bottom. It didn't feel to done so you don't feel sluggish after eating it. read more

Got a sesame bagel with butter and tomato (I don't like cream cheese - sue me), and I loved it. This was my first time checking out this location for Apollo bagels. As always, it was absolutely delicious! The bagels weren't super dense, but slightly chewier than average on the outside (which is my preference). I generally get the lox bagel, which is always fresh and delicious. This time, we also tried the whitefish salad. My top choice continues to be the lox bagel, but we felt both were solid options. This location has a ton of seating which is nice because you don't have to take it to go (or you can always bring your order to a nearby park and eat outside if the weather is nice). Most of the seating was taken, but people were frequently moving in and out of the shop. When we showed up, we unexpectedly found that Pink Pantheress had made an appearance at the shop. Because of this, the line to get in was unusually long. However, the line moved faster than the Manhattan locations I've been to! read more

A long line of eager people poured out of Apollo on a Sunday morning. It was moving and worth the wait. There's tons of indoor seating, however, the space was very full so keep that in mind. We got our food to go. I got a classic- everything bagel with scallion cream cheese with tomato and it came with a nice olive drizzle as well. The bagel had a great crunch covered with everything bagel seasoning. I really liked how fresh the tomato and bright the olive oil was on the bagel. I also got the cold brew- it came on tap and it was very good! Great flavor/body in the coffee. Overall a great place for a classic bagel, no crazy bells and whistles, just a great bagel! If you're feeling adventurous, you can add white fish too. read more

Now, I was desperately seeking a very simple belly lox with schmear, but much to my dismay, they didn't have any more belly lox. I was heartbroken and had to figure out a plan B While I pondered, the family quickly ordered a Peter Shelsky, a Great Gatsby, and a Fancy Pants. I crumbled in my panic and jumped in with another Peter Shelsky. We also tried a small amount of whitefish salad and a beet/thyme salad The service was quick and we were able to grab two of the three small tables at the front to enjoy our fare. Soon we were digging in and from the immediate silence, I could tell everyone was enjoying their choices. The bagels were on the smaller side, denser with a firm crust. We did enjoy the bagels, but I could see how someone not familiar with this style may find them too "cardboard-y" I have to say, the pickled herring on the Peter Shelsky was fantastic, but was way too overpowering for the nova and sable. I actually regretted my choice and would order something more sunken next time. (Or get to the store earlier to beat the rush for the darn belly lox!) The beet salad was quite a nice balance to for the bagels adding a bit of brightness. The whitefish salad was solid - a hint of smoke and a creamy puree. Some who prefer a chunkier whitefish salad might find this less than satisfactory, but the flavors were great A cure store, friendly and patient staff, a great first exposure to Brooklyn for the boys. We'll be back (and we want belly lox!!)

The bagel was the perfect texture and the amount of cream cheese was spot on. The scallions were fragrant and I would not change a thing about the entire thing. Would definitely come back!

The shop was busy with morning commuters and school teens getting their morning fix before heading to their destinations. Once inside I did not wait long to place my order, although it took a little time to review the menu before finalizing my decision. I went with the Lox Deluxe on everything bagel toasted and boy it was delicious. The bagel was soft yet crispy on the outside and the combination of flavors from the red onion, capers, cream cheese and tomato was just right. The space is roomy enough with several tables to dine-in and it is also kept clean, which is optimal. Look forward to visiting again to try a different menu item, perhaps during lunch.

Gotta have a lox bagel while I'm here :)
