We had a bunch of windows that needed to be repaired a year or so ago and our contractor said Apex was the best for this. We recently noticed it was time to replace our french doors that lead out to our backyard (sigh) so called Apex again. They came out pretty fast and confirmed that the doors needs to be replaced vs repaired. They then sent a quote, which seemed like a lot....although comparable to other quotes I ended up getting later on. The biggest issue was figuring out how to customize our doors so that the color matched our window trims and I could never get a great answer on how to do this. At one point I was about to order the doors, but the one person who takes the orders was on vacation so I decided to shop around a bit. I ended up getting 3 other quotes and was able to do a little research on the material of doors to get and found the other companies more knowledgeable when it came to window/door replacement. I would definitely use Apex for window repairment again, but would recommend shopping around for replacement since there are many options and it's a very expensive purchase. read more

Quality contractor from sales to installation. Nate opened and inspected every window and door (over 40); he identified issues with 10 ranging from cloudy glass to rotted sashes. On some ones I thought were a problem, he said it could just be scraped and painted or the mechanism just worked like that. Scheduling for repair was next week. Sasha was my technician. He walked around with me and verified issue with each window. He and his partner removed shoes while in house which was really considerate given they were walking in and out of the house a lot. Only quibble was for one of the windows, they didn't adequately use a drop cloth to cover a desk where we had a computer but they did clean up the area later. Value was great and much lower than I would have paid Pella for just 2 windows. The fact that they repair them on site rather than just replace them was great. read more

WOW. From the time I initiated the request for a quote to windows fixed was . . . about 2 weeks? I will add that I contacted them over the Xmas holiday, so this was incredible service!!! An estimate was compiled, the price WOW. It was just over a QUARTER of another quote I'd gotten. Thing is, I don't need my entire windows replaced, the frames are fine. I don't need the windowsills replaced (they do need work, but not at this time). I don't need outside scaffolding to get this job done. I needed the foggy, almost completely white (on many windows) glass repaired, and new seals put in. I could barely see out of some of my windows. Now, it's like there's nothing in them, they are so clear and beautiful! I can see my wonderful neighborhood again! My dog can monitor the street from her 3rd floor post! The workmen. GREAT! They arrived promptly at 9 AM and got right down to work. They barely took a break for water! They were really nice guys, and did a wonderful, efficient job. Very tidy, used dropcloths on my hardwood, and helped us move a couple of pieces of heavy furniture. They were finished by around 3 PM. The whole process was amazing, they set up a little shop on my back deck to cut the glass, and got everything done PRONTO. He measured my windows, explained the cost and warranty and the deposit needed to start the job. I called the office set up an appointment and was given a 3.5 hour window. So- I waited months to write this review. Apex describes themselves as being able to repair windows as opposed to replacing them. I contacted them received an estimate on what needed to be repaired and agreed to the estimate. They said they needed 30% down which somehow I avoided, thankfully. The day, the technician who was supposed to perform the repair repairs came out and told me that that was only half of what need to be repaired. They stated that this is what's on the list today please do it and we'll talk about the rest at a different time. The person came and looked at the job started doing something to compare. My windows. Left them hanging glass out, trim out in my yard in the basement. I went out to look and all of a sudden his truck was gone so figured had to go get materials went to Home Depot whatever [[HIGHLIGHT]]Waited an hour and a half and he never came back so called them and they said oh the driver got strong by a B and he had to leave because he had a allergic reaction[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] so doors open. Have an issue yell and say have an issue I gotta leave Didn't happen. They told me that the door may warp a little and they may have to make an adjustment to get the door to catch at the lock. They would not come out. I told her I am not available in the afternoon and could make the appointment as long as it were in the morning. No one can work at a job and only be given notice the evening before. Apex provided me with an estimate to replace several windows ranging from $225-280, Mechanical Mchanism for about 8-10 windows $45.00 each. The bathroom mechanism replacement $310. This is just a brief description of the services I requested. The total cost of all the repairs was over $5,000 ( I didt list everything) i I almost decided to go with this company. Glad I didn't. I was able to locate somone who repaired the broken windows for $75 and the replacement mechanism for over 10 windows much lower than the cost provided by Apex. My cost from the other company was under $500 with a warranty. Many are struggling financially and I was almost ripped off by this company.
