This job was completely different and involved a remodel where we wanted custom shelves and new windows added in a side room. We worked with Michael again as well as Haley to design the space. We loved the results, and were satisfied with all of the team who were pleasant, professional and did fantastic work. Michael and Haley kept us updated on current events and kept the line of communication open. It was great having them drive the work. In addition, company representatives regularly contacted us to ensure we were happy and if we had any concerns. We will be back!

Even before construction began, their back office called just to welcome us to the family and ensure we had everything we needed. What really made the experience for us was how the project managers Adaya and Roni were both incredibly warm, personable, and genuinely great people to work with. When Adaya (who sold us the job) had to go out of town, the transition to Roni was completely seamless while Adaya still stayed in the loop remotely. It proved how stellar the whole team really is. The crew finished the work in just a few quick days and was so helpful. They were also deeply respectful regarding noise and clean-up, which we really appreciated with a newborn at home. We'll absolutely use them again!

A plainly sexist implication. I don't know what kind of customer Designs 4 You is used to dealing with, but I would never agree to purchase something as large as a $230,000 addition based on a quick iPad sales pitch. These decisions are made carefully with one's family, not something to be pressured into. In the future, listen to your potential customers' price concerns, hear their needs (yes, price-per-square-foot is indeed important), and do not comment on their marriage.

The roof came first and they did find some bad wood once the old tile was off, which of course nobody wants to hear. But they showed us everything and it made sense. Paint was the last part and we went back and forth on the color more than we probably should have. They were patient with us. There were a few messy days, thats just part of it, but overall they did a really good job and the house looks like a different place now. Glad we did everything at once.

Review Update (2026)…read more I am updating my original 5-star review from a few years ago. At the time, we were very happy with our kitchen remodel and the overall experience working with Creative Design & Build. The project turned out beautifully, which is why I originally left such a positive review. Over the years, however, I noticed that one section of the flooring felt slightly soft when walking on it. At first, it did not seem serious, so we continued to live with it. Recently, the problem became worse and a section of the floor began to noticeably sink when stepped on and eventually a few edges of the flooring broke. At that point, I became concerned that it could become a safety issue. Because we still had plenty of spare flooring boards left over from the project, I attempted to replace the affected board myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the new board to fit correctly due to the locking system, and I could not restore the original board either. I then contacted Creative Design & Build for assistance. One reason I reached out was because our original project manager, Oded, had told us that if we ever had any issues, we should contact the company. I left a voicemail and later received a return call from a staff member. After I explained the situation, she said she would check with management and get back to me. A few days later, I received a text message stating that the warranty had expired and that no repairs would be covered. This was disappointing because I had never been informed that there was a four-year warranty period, nor was I able to find any reference to such a limitation in our contract. When I asked for details regarding the warranty and whether they could recommend someone to repair the issue, I did not receive any further response. There were two other issues relating to electrical and plumbing, however we decided to live with that until we had a major problem we needed fixing. I still appreciate the work that was done on our remodel years ago, and our kitchen remains a space we enjoy. However, I have been disappointed by the lack of follow-up and support when a problem arose. My advice to future customers is to make sure all warranty terms, coverage details, and expiration dates are clearly documented and understood before signing a contract.

We couldn't be happier with our new deck from Second Wind Deck Master! A huge thank-you to John,…read morethe owner, and to Abraham and Abraham Jr., who handled everything from start to finish with incredible care and diligence. They put so much effort into this project, and it shows in the finished work. John recommended going with composite decking, and I'm so glad we listened. We chose Trex in Spiced Rum paired with white railing, and the combination turned out absolutely beautiful. Our project included multiple sets of stairs, and they did a fantastic job bringing everything together. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were great. We received several competing bids, and their price was very competitive--especially for the quality of work they delivered. It's wonderful to find a team that takes this much pride in what they do and follows through with such a beautiful result. I've worked with many contractors, and John stands out for his honesty and integrity. He's a rare find--the kind of person you trust and want to work with again and again. I absolutely plan on hiring their team again by for other decks and would recommend them to anyone considering a new deck. Grateful for their work.

He skips the heavy paperwork and works on trust instead. As a real estate entrepreneur, that was unusual to me, but it turned out faster and just as reliable since he backs it up. Where other deck builders I spoke to seemed shaky/flaky about my project, John was solution-oriented, brave, and responsive. That confidence is ultimately why I hired him. Abraham Sr and Jr, the builders, are true craftsmen. They work hard, move fast, and were always open to dialogue when something needed improvising on the spot. Hardscaping wasn't part of the project. They're upfront that it's not their focus, so I brought in a separate company for that piece, no issue at all. While this isn't the least expensive deck builder in San Diego, the quality and honesty are there. Where I did blow past my original budget, John flagged it ahead of time, so it was never a surprise. The end result exceeded my expectations, including the cable railing, which looks clean, modern, and beautifully finished. I'll be hiring John and his crew again for my next deck project without a second thought. And I'm 100% sure my neighbors are about to start knocking, asking who did the deck... ;-)

West Coast Deck did an absolutely phenomenal job on our replacement deck and railing project!…read more After several years of renting our house, we were addressing several items with deferred maintenance around the property when severe rot was discovered on a deck that's above a room. The rot had thoroughly permeated a set of facia boards that encircle the room, which juts out from the main house. The contractor we were working with said he doesn't work on projects with rot. I checked with our pest company, and they said they're not the best fit for the project, because in addition to replacing the rotted wood, the deck should be refinished/resealed as well, and ideally one company should do the entire project together. I called around and found it surprisingly difficult to find a company that does this type of work (without a 2+ month lead time). On one call, the company owner recommended West Coast Deck and said "they are one of the few companies I would trust to work on my own house." I reached out to them and talked to the owner Jameson, who visited the property in less than a day. He informed me about what a proper fix would require, which felt accurate given that 25+ years had passed since any meaningful work had been done to that part of the house, which gets constant exposure to sea air given its relative proximity to the ocean. When I agreed to work with West Coast Deck, I asked if they could prioritize our work given that we were hustling to prepare the house for rental. Jameson moved some of his crew around to accommodate our timeline, which was greatly appreciated! They started work shortly after we signed the contract. When the project got underway, I got a detailed timeline, followed by daily photo and video updates of the work, posted to a project management site. Given that I'm not in the area, this kind of transparency was incredibly helpful to track progress and ask questions along the way. I was shown the materials they were using and the various steps they were taking throughout the effort to fix the issue and properly refinish and seal the deck and then build the new railing. In the end, his crew did a stellar, first-rate job, which is shown in the photos. (The railing was painted just after these photos were taken.) The project was completed on time and on budget. I highly recommend this company for this type of work!

That level of organization immediately gave me confidence. During my consultation, Bar exceeded my expectations. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and clearly has extensive experience in remodeling. I especially appreciated his straightforward, honest approach. Rather than simply agreeing with every idea I had, he took the time to explain the pros and cons of different renovation options and offered thoughtful recommendations based on both function and long-term value. What really stood out was that he identified several important considerations that none of the other contractors I met with had even mentioned. His expertise was evident throughout the entire appointment, and I left feeling much more informed about my project. If budget weren't a factor, I would have hired D&L Builders on the spot. Unfortunately, I have several home projects underway and need to stay within my overall budget.
