After three years since moving to LA I finally found New Sun Auto Service and they turned out to be stellar. They do a whole suite of different services. I went for brakes services and air conditioning. Didn't air conditioning service after all but the brakes service went speedy and the manager J. Rodriguez was super friendly and broke down all my options beforehand and let me decide what package was best for me. Service only took couple hours in and that was perfect because I could get a nice leisurely lunch at the world-famous Pink's hotdogs one block away. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon. They aren't just mechanics, they do body work, upgrades, and custom work if you want to improve your car, not just maintain. Great experience! Couldn't recommend them enough!

These guys were, first of all, very responsive on the phone. They were proactive in communication and very accommodating with dropoff and pickup times. I brought my car in because it was behaving very strangely, all kinds of scary engine system warning lights flashing, odd noises when driving. I expected whatever was wrong to be thousands of dollars. Instead it was an incredibly easy and relatively cheap fix. They recommended me some other services that I hadn't performed in too long (changing the cabin air filter, etc) and offered me a good price for those too. They kept in good communication with me throughout and were always happy to explain the work. The work took one day. They let me bring my car in the evening before so that I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn...spectacular! After I picked it up, it was still making some odd creaking and scraping noises, so I called them a couple of days later to ask about it. They had me bring the car back in the and spent maybe 10-15 minutes figuring out what was going on, while I waited. Turned out to be some improperly attached protective bit of the undercarriage (not their fault - i think this was the fault of the previous mechanic who had installed it), which they spent a further 10 minutes adjusting and then... voila! No more noise! They didn't even charge me for this extra work and sent me on my way a completely satisfied customer! They even helped me change my windshield wiper blades, which I was having trouble with due to a broken piece on the old ones. Outstanding customer service. Kindness, expert knowledge and incredibly trustworthy energy in every interaction, with every person I talked to. These guys know their stuff and they are honest and straightforward. Art and his Crew are worth their collective Weight in Gold…read more I reached out to several Transmission Specialists via Yelp when my 2009 Nissan Rogue began Performing Irregularly out of the Blue 2 days ago. Without any Signs whatsoever-- no Odd Sound or Smell, let alone any Warning Lights on the Dash-- I had to press my Accelerator all the way to the Floor just to get it to go 5-10mph in LA Rush Hour Traffic from Midtown to Van Nuys for an Appointment. It ran just fine getting onto the 101... which I absolutely should not have Gambled, but Gonzo is as Gonzo does. It ran just as Smoothly as Normal later in the Evening with Cooler Temperatures and Clear Roads, so I took it to Autozone immediately after my Appointment to get a Reading. It came up with CODE: P0840 "Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/ Switch "A" Circuit," which came as a complete Relief since I've dealt with Transmission Failures before. Art was the first (by several hours) of 4 Mechanics to Respond to my Yelp Inquiry with a far more Thorough Message than the others. Uniq is located in Glendale, so with Gas Prices being what they are during this Absurd War I had really hoped for anything Closer. But after several Yelp Messages and a Phone Call, Art was already proving to be the Most Professional Mechanic ahead of time. He was as Jovial as he was Informative with his Initial Diagnoses... and given that his Inspection would be Free on top of a completely Expected Estimate and just how clearly he made it that Uniq Motors would get the Job Done right no matter whether the Problem was Fluid, Electrical, or Mechanical, I coordinated with him to bring my Vehicle in that Afternoon. Uniq Motors is located within a 20 minute walk to the Glendale Galleria and Americana where I have AMC A-List, so I was quite pleased with being able to take in a Movie in the Ensuing Hours it would take his Transmission Specialist to Elucidate what was going on and how to fix it. The Kicker? Art had his new Intern, Edgar, drive me to the Theater. It meant so much for this Enthusiastic young man to express his Gratitude for being given Purpose at his new job by giving me an Air Conditioned ride to the Venue. That young man's Pride in working with Uniq spoke so many Volumes of what kind of Ship that Art runs. Several Hours later, I returned to Uniq where this "Home Away from Home" for his Mechanics was filled with the smell of Pizza they had just gotten. Art was somewhat Aghast at how many times he'd had to Flush the Transmission Fluid... 4-5 times, with Fluid so Black and Thick that it had most likely Never been Serviced in the 135K miles it had taken on before I purchased it from a Private Seller in January earlier this year. I made myself Comfortable on his Office Couch while waiting for them to Flush the Transmission completely Clean. They'd had to add enough New Fluid to necessitate going slightly over the original Estimate, which was absolutely Understandable. They also found that the Transmission Casing had a small Leak, so he included that on the Receipt Printout for Future Reference on keeping my Chariot Serviced. I could feel the Improvement in my Car's Performance immediately. I had Zero Doubts whatsoever that I would make it back home in Midtown without a Hitch... and now I'm experiencing a *severely* Improved MPG. Thank you so much Art and Uniq Crew, you are absolutely worth the Drive and Invoice!
