This place doesn't even deserve a freakin star at all. Took my 97 jeep down to get an exhaust cutout on it. Crappy weld job. Made me have an exhaust leak to were I kept stalling out. And then they broke my 02 sensor on my cat. Wtf?! And I took it down to Midas and they even said that they broke it. And wrote up a statement saying that it was. And when I took it back down there. They just laughed. And freakin said hell no. And wouldn't do anything about it. Stay away from this place. These guys are assholes. And treat you like crap. read more

Yeah! I got my front muffler pipe fixed today and was referred here by my local mechanic shop. The front pipe was broken in half and while it wasn't hanging down or anything, it was a little iffy and I guess it was a good thing I didn't know it was just hanging like that. Anyway, it was so loud in the car I had to wear ear plugs and this morning the front of the car shook from the vibrations of the now unmuffled muffler. It was a fair and decent price, very quick service and they let me watch and see what was damaged. They showed the next part of the muffler that would probably go at some point, but they said, "you'll hear it when it's time to replace it." They gave me an estimate upfront so I can budget for it down the road. When I started the car to drive it away, the engine was so quiet I had to trust that it was really on! Apache Muffler is on Main Street in the rougher part of Mesa, but it is easily accessible by car, bike, or light rail (important if you are dropping your car off overnight and have no other way to get back home). It's exterior also looks a little run-down and the big chain-link fence is also not so welcoming . . . BUT WHO CARES!? This is an amazing, trustworthy, reasonably priced auto repair shop (emissions repairs mostly) that tells you exactly what your car needs, does not try the hard sell for bogus extra repairs, and does not condescend in that sexist way many repair shops do (sorry, but it's annoying and so-70's). I brought my beat-up Nissan 2001 Sentra in on Monday night, it was fully repaired by Tuesday afternoon, no surprises, no extra fees, no b.s. I then took it immediately to the AZDOT Emissions Testing site in Mesa, even though Dane said I had to go through a 'drive cycle' (like 75 miles) before the computer would reset and the check engine light (although off) would not still be ready to be tested. On this one point, Dane was incorrect -- the first time through testing, they said the car was 'not ready for testing' using the computerized system they use for newer cars, but when I did the alternative testing for older cars (on the rollers), the Nissan passed!!!!!!! Yay Dane! Yay Apache Muffler! This was such a great achievement for my homely but reliable little car, and I am very grateful to Apache Muffler for making it possible! Backed into a tall curb and crunched the muffler on the family Sienna and after calling around and being told that parts were nowhere to be found I was referred to these guys. Long story short: they skipped sourcing a $2,500 part and did some real work on our muffler. Forty minutes later they'd chopped and welded the muffler back to normal for the ridiculously low price of $120. I put a Magnaflow stainless steel kit in my 68 Camaro and didn't like how low the pipes hung below the car. I contacted Apache Muffler inquiring about raising the pipes up a bit higher and asked if they were equipped to weld stainless. They assured me they were equipped to handle it, so I scheduled an appointment. These guys did a great job, they were fast, and the price was right. My one and only complaint is, rather than using all of my existing stainless pipe, they replaced a couple feet on each side with standard steel pipe without even asking. I would have gladly paid more for stainless. In a couple of years from now, this section of pipe is going to look horrible compared to the rest of the stainless pipe. At least it won't be visible unless you crawl under the car. All in all, I would use them again. read more

This was absolutely the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I brought my car in for an exhaust repair and in the process of the repair, they broke my gearshift. I spoke with Jeff and requested that they repair it to the way it was when I dropped the car off. After giving me the run around for a week he told me that they were unable to find the part. I did my own internet search and was able to find the part to ship right away. I give the information to Jeff and he took it but did nothing. He called later and said the car was fixed. When I went to pick the car up, I found the part had been wired together. When I told him this wasn't acceptable, he became irritated and said "it was a piece of junk car and it would have broken anyway." He also said that the gear shift was a junkyard part. After being treated badly by at Apache, I brought the car to another mechanic who said the shifter had definitely been forced. I was also told that this wasn't a junkyard part but had the original inspection number on it. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Mistakes and accidents happen, but how a business handles difficult situations is an indication of how honest and ethical their people are. If I could rate this no stars I would , first off these people are completely unprofessional many of them don't even know what the hell they're even doing when we discussed things about making the car better the person we talked to seem to not have a clue what we were talking about , we went there to get our three resonators out and get the muffler of and when they were done they just told us okay you pay here like nothing no hey do you want to check it out ,but we wanted to make sure it was good and thank god we did because it had a leak and it was a pretty big hole on the exhaust pipe and when we told them they tried to say they didn't touch that area like are you serious we have a lexus ls400 and it's really quite I think We would notice if there was any kind of leak like seriously it felt as we were talking to the dumb and dumber ! And the best part they didn't take the muffler off and the guy was saying sorry man we did what you wanted It's the best I can do I have a bunch of people I have to do like wtf!! It's what we asked you for !!! And he tried to tell us come other day and wanted to charge more ! you're a goddamn muffler shop and when we told you we wanted the car to sound loud it's just fucking logic seriously I don't recommend I also over heard a lady calling back because something they worked on went bad again so good luck with that also a lovely note one of the lauds was talking behind our backs until she noticed me and we further ! read more

Went there to get a flowmaster 40 series installed on my 05 Toyota Tundra. Came out to 375$$. Kind of pricey. Called ahead and talked to the owner and he said to come in at 4, came in and he said to come back at 4:30. Went out and got food and came back. Didn't get it installed until about 5. They did a great job on the muffler, tip, and new pipes.. However I think the customer service could've been better. Would've been nicer if the owner could of told me 5 instead of 4. read more

Brought my truck in for an exhaust upgrade. Seeing how I was satisfied in the past with a former upgrade, I gave it another go-around. Mike, the Manager, was very pleasant. I told him what I wanted and they got to work. Price is very reasonable. This shop is exactly that - a place where talented mechanics work on complex machines. With that said, there is a little waiting room that feels drab and un-inviting and the bathroom feels like an extension of the shop. However, there is a random looking cabinet and upgraded counter that would suggest re-modeling is in future plans. If you judge this place by creature comforts, then you're not at the right place and you mis-understand the concept of an auto shop. But, if you breakdown or need performance upgrades and need someone you can count on to get the job done, Apache Muffler can do it. read more

Welds are good ..............but the dishonest part is when your parts come off they tell you you cant have them, and its why the service is cheap, only after service is completed. I was unwilling to argue with these folks over MY MY MY old catalytic converter true owner WAS ME - NOT YOU. You should not yell out when your customers for a part they want back. read more

Excellent service...Had to get there after work thinking the car would be overnight but nope Dane had his boys on it and done in a flash...it was awesome. My V6 Camaro got a Flowmaster exhaust, couldn't be happier. I also got some great referrals on some other pump ups for what I call my granny Camaro LOL. Got home and husband says great work was done and going back with our Tahoe soon now too. I'd like to say to trust us because we're usually are not too vocal about much however when you're spending a lot for a car and you get good service it makes a HUGE difference and this difference was wonderfully unexpected.
