I have used 4 moving services in Austin in the past couple of years and this is the only negative experience I've had. The moving rules were way more strict compared to other moving services I've used. We had many items that were "rejected" from being moved and ended up loading an entire car ourselves. - They will not take small furniture (ex: guitar stands) - They will not take curtain rods, shelving rods, or any normal furniture that is not "stackable" - They will not take stacked empty boxes - They will not take cleaned motion sensor trash cans - They will not take bags This resulted in us having to throw away furniture when there was plenty of space in their truck. Despite moving a lot of things ourselves, and having to throw good furnitures away, we still ended up paying $100 more than other moving companies for moving less things. Additionally, we had an unpleasant experience with the movers. Won't elaborate here... Other 1 star reviews explain the reasons well. read more

I used them in 2 separate moves. First for my mother and then for myself. They helped me a lot when it was my turn due to moving date issues on my apartment complex end and they worked with me to reschedule my move on a later date. Pros and cons..The movers showed up on time, we agreed on a price for their services. They were capable and nice movers. However, if you decide to hire them please pay attention and video the move. They scratched my hardwood floors in 6 places and took 2 chunks out of my bedroom door frame trying to pull my dresser through. I watched it happen. I was told to email pictures to the claims lady, which I did. Their response was they spoke with the crew and the crew said they didn't damage the home. I have pictures and and even sent them a picture of the chunk of wood. They are not taking responsibility for any of it. Don't make the same mistake I did. Video everything. read more

Employees showed up high and reeking of weed and hours late, but because I had to move and this was the only company I scheduled to help me that day I had no choice but to move forward. Broke my son's bed when assembling and left it with screws missing and broken pieces of wood. When I called to speak to the owner Christy she has was nothing but short and rude since day one. Even when I showed her proof that I was not making things up and I in fact had broken damaged furniture not once did she apologize or offer any sympathies on behalf of the company for damaging my brand new furniture. I finally get a claim going. This is oct 2024, months and months of me calling and emailing for update. I have yet to receive the $330 I was given for my ruined furniture that was worth a lot more unfortunately. Terry her husband is just as rude with the customers which is why I realized Christy gets away with such bad behavior and poor treatment of customers, because her husband the other owner could care less of any issues or problems they caused to their customers. He's just as rude and inconsiderate. All you will hear out of his mouth is that he's been running the company for 28 years. Sounds a lot like a man that doesn't know how to admit when he's wrong and has never been told to shut up by a woman. I blame Christy as a woman too, to allow herself to be with such a disgrace of a rude man and allow that behavior to continue in a company of 28 years. Both of them have no shame and on top of that they don't even run a company that's doing a great job. Mediocre at best because at least my furniture got from point a to point b, not in one piece, and wildly over estimated quoted move time. Check or not I'm pissed I wouldn't have cared so much if I had at least been treated better by Christy and Terry. Can you give 0 stars? Apache was hired to move my furniture out of the house so I could get new carpet installed and then they were supposed to put everything back. They 3 guys (Victor, Ryan and Adam) who came for move-out were awesome: polite, respectful and careful. I called Apache and asked specifically for those 3 men to come back to replace all my furniture, since they knew where everything should go. However, 3 different guys were assigned the move-back in and had no idea which mattresses went where, or where the bolts and screws were hidden to put the furniture back together. So they left the 5 media room chairs strewn throughout the room rather than put in place, they balled up the carpet pad and put in the corner instead of placing it under the area rug, they left the desk hutch on the floor instead of putting it ON THE DESK, they put bedside tables in the middle of the room and I had to move them next to the bed, they didn't reassemble a swing chair, and they didn't mount the bed to the headboard. The electric control for the Tempur-pedic adjustable bed is still missing. It's been 10 days and they still have not come back to fix things..... Terry-- thank you for your Yelp reply but you refused to send someone out to fix my issues. Floor King has come out twice now to put everything back together after you did nothing. My husband used Apache for the first time in 2010 to move a small apartment to a small house across town, and we've always remembered it as a pleasant experience. When we were looking for quotes for moving furniture from our packed 4,000 square foot house to a smaller one, Apache was available and reasonably priced, so we chose to use them again. The crew that showed up this morning was made up of Jared, Caleb, and Dean (and later on Lyle). They were prompt, polite, friendly, and VERY efficient. They were careful with my belongings and I believe this is the first time I haven't noticed anything damaged in a move. They were very engaged with us and with each other, and worked seamlessly as a team. I know we're high maintenance (okay, it's me), and I felt bad about asking them to adjust or move the furniture 500 times. But every time I spoke up they were willing and even enthusiastic about getting everything juuuuuuust right. At the end of the long day I could tell everyone was exhausted, but they were determined to get everything done, and get it done to our satisfaction. We were very impressed with the group and each of them individually. Based on our experience today, there's no question that I would recommend this company and specifically this crew to anyone. Jayvion and Jalen from apache movers were the best moving crew I've ever hired. They were professional and extremely careful with both houses. They were very knowledgable and smart. I only had to give them an overview of where the rooms map to in the new home and they were able to move our stuff into the correct locations. We had tons of boxes, with some marked with target location and some not. They were patient and checked with me before they moved any of the unmarked boxes into the house. Overall a great experience. They even disassembled and reassembled my ikea bedroom furniture. We ended up with no damages to our houses or our stuff and were pleasantly happy about it. Prices were reasonable. I am very disappointed with this company as they did not honor what was requested, were extremely rude on the phone when we pointed out their mistake, and ruined our plans for the long weekend. I had asked the owner Terry to schedule move (documented in the Yelp chat) using the $175 / hr 3 mover deal (since I had a lot of things to move), and when I did not hear from him after a few days, I called to confirm with their operations manager Lyle and told him the same. The moving date was scheduled in the long weekend. When the moving date came, only 2 movers arrived and they told me that their work order mentioned 2 movers only. I told them that would absolutely not work since we have a large house and things that need disassembly and reassembly which is not efficient with only 2 movers hence the ask for 3 movers. I called Apache moving asap and told them I had asked for 3 movers ($175/hr deal) so why they sent only 2?. The operations manager (Lyle) at first claimed that they were short staffed so he put me down for 2 movers only ($140/hr deal), then when my wife asked him point blank why he assumed we would be ok with 2 movers without first consulting with us, he became rude and in a loud tone, told us that we had only two options, either proceed with the 2 movers, or cancel the move and get our deposit back. At that point we told him to cancel the move and refund us our deposit. Unfortunately the damage was done because all our move plans during the memorial day long weekend were ruined. We called various other companies but everyone was booked far out. We now have to unpack our things and replan everything. This kind of customer service and fundamental mistake is unacceptable. The least they can do at this point is return our deposit back to us asap! read more

Had an issue with getting keys for new place on Saturday December 21st. Crew leader said they could hold belongings in trailer for a fee until Monday or Tuesday, that the owner would call to schedule. Informed they were running skeleton crews Tuesday since it was Christmas eve. Never got a call Sunday. I called Monday was told the owner will call you back. Never received that call. Loaded in the trailer was all of my disabled son's medication, hospital bed, and medical equipment. I told the crew to load the table the medication and equipment was on never thinking they would pack and up individual pill bottles, pulse oxymeter, BP cuff, etc. If delivered Monday or Tuesday as discussed we might have managed, but the owner finally weighs in when I call Tuesday at 945am that they can't deliver until Friday. So here we sit in ICU while almost everything we own is being held hostage. Apache's rates may be good, but the customer service sucks. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. I hope the owner of Apache has a real nice Christmas.....because he sure ruined ours. read more

The other team member was very polite and obviously uncomfortable with his co-worker Sent a second truck that we were charged full price for and the crew filled only half the truck and left. Leaving us to move everything in our personal vehicles for days. Often after working 12 hour shifts in the ER and/or clinic. The service was inconsistent, communication was not well executed, and "we were to blame" by the office manager (?) for not ordering an assessment...which we did...and called several times to inquire why they didn't show the Monday two week before our scheduled move date. Several items were damaged Feedback: I feel their office staff was the biggest point of failure and needs to be addressed. Had an assessor arrived as scheduled then I feel this poor experience could have been avoided. I cannot recommend this company at this time and have no plains to use them in the future. read more

UPDATE 07/14/2023 as of 07/08/2023 while still unpacking I discovered that a good portion of my t-shirts, skirts and shorts were missing from my closet. This company literally stole my clothes. They either vindictive threw my clothing away because I asked him not to stack items on a fragile box. Once they finished their "load" which hey according to their owner I was supposed to inspect when they were ready to leave my apartment, yet your employees never gave me that option. Or they hid my clothes in the cab of the truck after unload and I was shown the empty trailer. They have denied my insurance claim. They 100% had these items in their truck and my closet at my apartment was empty. I have multiple witnesses who can attest to that. Do not move with these scumbags, they will literally steal your clothes and not give a F. Their owner simply does not care about anything his employees do because they have you and your things held hostage while moving you. This is not my 1st merry go round moving. But this has been the worst experience thus far using "professional" movers. I will refer to them as young guy and older as they never introduced themselves. Everything was going fine, and they were hustling until I saw the older guy had many boxes stacked on top of a storage bin that was marked fragile, and had stickers on it that said do not stack. I asked politely if he could not stack anything on it that it was art with glass inside and I put stickers on it so they knew it was fragile/not stackable. The immediate attitude & response I got at that point was "ive been doing this 8 years, I know what I am doing, and I am the longest employee here" "You can just move this yourself then" I replied no you guys can move it but just cant stack items on top of it as indicated. After that interaction, everything slowed down. The older guy, when he came back into the apartment would come take 1 lite item and then not come back for 5-10 mins. While the younger guy was doing the bulk of the work. It took over 2 hours to just empty and load my 1 bedroom apartment into their truck. Even though all was ready for them. At another point the younger guy took my bed apart, but failed to tell me he put the screws on my kitchen counter and I needed to grab them. I literally had no idea this is what he did. Since no one communicated that to me. So once they were unloading at my new place 3 hrs later the screws were not here to put my bed back together and then he put the blame on me that he couldn't do it. At no point did they say when they started the clock on the move. Really felt like the clock got milked after I said something, everything slowed down after that some how it took over 2 hours to load a 1st flr 1 bedroom but only an hour to unload to a 2nd floor unit. I called the office after they left and told the ops manger. Who was sweet what happened. While he was being kind I was told "well you could of dismissed them at any point if you werent happy" and No lets look at the logic behind this. You as the movers literally and figuratively have me and my items held hostage while you are moving me out. If I am not happy, I cant tell you to stop and unload when I have to leave a place and then still pay you and find new movers the same day. Took 2 days for the owner Terry to call me and just talk down to me the whole time. It was obvious he didn't care about any of the feedback. If I was happy I wouldn't of called and said anything. Clearly something has happened if I am contacting ya'll after the fact the same day you move me. He offered me 47.17 as a refund-and told me to take it or leave it he gave me the same line I could of dismissed them at any point. To me its fairly obvious now this is their M.O. I had to make 5 trips back to my apt to get items they just left even after I did the walk through and told them what to get. If you are going to move, then you need to use this company. For my latest move, James and Raymond came to move me from Austin to Dallas. These two gentlemen were the perfect balance of professional, helpful, compassionate and efficient. I have used this company before and it's always been a good experience but I'd say this team of men was the best. They even actively scouted the area at my new place to save me some money and found a quicker way into the apartment. Don't get me started on them moving my 5 foot tall top heavy cactus and getting it here in one piece. They were on time BUT left 2 items at my previous address. When I couldn't find the items I returned to the previous address. They were sitting there plastic wrapped in the garage. I called and texted the number they used to text me. They never responded. They also failed to unwrap the plastic on 2 pieces of furniture they delivered. They broke the timer knob on my washing machine. They didn't turn off the water completely when disconnecting the washing machine and left it dripping resulting in water streaming down my old garage floor. I would like to write a review here on September moving 2024, and had the most terrible experiences with this company since this is my first time hired them, they are unprofessional, unexpected charge you for higher prices, and unexplained, wasted time and money. I told them I only want them to move the boxes that I already have packed and ready to go, and a bed, chairs, desk, etc, they don't really listen to me at all, took them 3 hours and a half to completed everything, and money added up for just a stupid bed frame took a long time. My mom used these guys and had the worst experience ever. They originally were fine with us using a credit card, but after putting our stuff in their trailer, they told us we had to pay in cash. At this point it was 10pm, banks were closed and the amount we owed was greater than what you can withdraw at an ATM.... So they took our possessions for the night until we could come in the next morning with the cash. But wait it gets worse... because after all that we realized they had taken several of our belongings. Terry was a jerk about the whole situation and put his workers in a terrible position. After shopping for a few quotes I came across Apache where Eddie offered a flat rate with no additional fees for moving on a Friday. We were provided a fair estimate over the phone and his team arrived right on time on moving day. (Buda/ S. Austin to N. San Antonio) Upon arrival, I was advised that we would be charged for items not listed on the inventory list. In speaking with Victor and Shawn they would do their best to take care of the list. I was a little nervous at first because I had previously advised Eddie there were many items not listed on our online quote. All in all a few of the additions seemed fair. After moving a few times using the U-Haul working with professionals was a good investment. They moved quickly and efficiently. They packed the truck accordingly and fit everything in a timely manner. Even the drop off was just as efficient. Everything was moved and handled with care. I know we could never move our home in a manner many professionals do. That to me is money well spent if it is within your budget. It saves you the trouble of lifting and driving the moving truck.
