Avocado toast sandwich
Alysia D.

Cute cafe in a shopping area. Order inside and seating is picnic style outside. Staff will bring your food out to you. Arrive early as the line will long as they get busy. My sandwich was messy but so good.

My husband and I had a yummy breakfast here. They are in a shopping center. They don't have tables inside but there are some outside. The guy working was awesome and very prompt and helpful. My husband got the Riptide eggs Benedict and thought it was incredible!!! They didn't mention that this came with overnight oats which normally wouldn't matter but it had some stuff that we can't have due to allergies. The avocado toast was delicious but very messy. I really enjoyed the lilikoi iced tea and they did tell me I could get refills. This is a really solid breakfast option to stop in to before shopping.

Surfers bowl

Went here twice for breakfast and it was consistently delicious! The food is flavorful, seasoned perfectly and the eggs are incredibly fluffy. Even our picky toddler ate an entire portion of scrambled eggs! We loved the surfer's bowl, the tube ride, the mea kanu and the rip ride :) don't skip out on their cold brew either because it was one of the best we've had on the island. The service is quick and friendly. There are two tables with benches you can use to eat right next to the restaurant.

Our first morning on Kauai, we went to a local restaurant on the south shore. To our delight, the breakfast turned out to be the best of the whole trip. The French toast with lemon and berry topping was to die for. We sat at a nearby picnic table While the chickens roamed around the yard, very fun atmosphere. Service was kind and efficient, small place with a big taste.

Coconut fenchbtiast, Portuguese sausage and eggs

We come here for breakfast often when on the island. My absolute fav is the pork fried rice breakfast! Good lord it's good! The way the chef crisps up that rice!! My hubby had the french toast with eggs and Portuguese sausage and he raved about it. It's casual, little seating and gets busy! But go! It's a must

Great local gem with tasty food, generous portions, and fair prices. I've been coming here for years, and they've been consistently solid every time. The Kalua pork fried rice with jalapeños hits a perfect balance of sweet and heat and is a great way to start the day. We were in and out in about 10 minutes. Seating is limited outdoors, but it's ideal for a quick, satisfying grab-and-go.

Tucked away little breakfast spot in the Poipu area. It's located in the Kiahuna Plantation center so gotta go looking for it. One of the few breakfast places in the area that's not on a resort or a Starbucks. Was pretty busy in the morning but food comes out pretty quickly after you place your order. We got the avocado toast sandwich which was $17 a pop. It was essentially a BLT with guac and pesto which definitely put a different spin on this sandwich. The bread was toasted well and doesn't cut the top of your mouth (thank goodness). Overall, great food.

Their portions are large, good and filling, see my pics. We were on the way out of town, and made a quick stop for breakfast/brunch. While they don't have inside seating, we readily found outside seating. Even though their menu is limited, see my menu pics, they execute well. Under the sandwiches heading, is their Avocado Toast, see my pic. This more than "toast", there is ample avocado and the bacon was great! It was warm, rich, creamy and bacon savory! My pic doesn't do justice to the Shark Omelet - it should be sold by the pound. There were a ton of meats, and it seemed more than 3 eggs. This was savory and rich, truly filling. At the time we visited, this is only a morning restaurant.

We stopped by for brunch after 10am and was very short line. It's a small shop in the shopping center. We ordered The Shark, Kalua Pork fried rice and breakfast plate. The Shark was too salty for me so I didn't really enjoy it. The fried rice was good but the toasted rice pieces hurt our teeth. The breakfast plate was decent. We sat at the bench right outside but be warned the chickens will come at you. Will jump up on table and will try to eat your food.

Best breakfast so far in Hawaii ! Been here 9 days !!! Wife loved their French toast the pancakes are the best !!!

We sat on the patio by the pool and luckily the umbrella was large enough to block the sun! The food all tasted great. The crab dip with 6 or 8 pieces of toasted focaccia was high quality with real crab not surimi. We ordered the flatbread with chicken instead of pork and it was also very good with a nice crispy crust and moist chicken chunks. The wedge salad was a large piece with crisp bacon, candied pecans, grape tomato halves and a tasty dressing. It only needed some red onion to make it perfect. The calamari were crispy but the portion size was too small and the pieces of calamari were too small so the ratio of crust to fish was too high.

But everything is very pricey and we had better breakfast elsewhere on the island. Lunch was also okay. Nothing to write home about. The one good thing was their Holoholo pie for dessert. Very tasty. We likely never would have eaten here is we didn't have the credit to spend. If you're at the resort and you need something easy, it's definitely somewhere to go but I wouldn't come here besides that. Also, they served me a water with a dead lizard in it! They didn't even care or really apologize about it.

We sat on the patio but they call the main dining room however it is outside. The host and the servers were very nice on both days helping us choose our dishes and beverages. The first night were shared the shrimp and unui (sp?) patties. They were tasty and slightly sweet but over-charred and the sauce served with them did not complement them very well. It needed a fresher sauce or something with a little kick The first night I Had the chicken Which is actually a tiny little bird I should've known from the name. - pouisson. It was well cooked, but there was very little meat on all of the bones. And also needed a sauce of some kind. The one baby bok choy was a nice addition. Two of the group had the fish and chips it was made with swordfish that night and was very tasty. However, the chips were slightly limp and not hot. No one wanted to return them, but they really were not very good. One of the other entrées was the veggie bowl with seared Aji tuna and it had quinoa at the bottom with lots of roasted beets and other vegetables. It was a very good dish. The second time I ordered the grilled seafood bowl because that night they were offering Oppa as the grilled fish on the kebabs/skewers that were served on top of the bowl the seafood was cooked, absolutely perfectly, and it had pickled cucumbers, pickled red onions, slightly cooked carrots, and then regular cucumbers on top of lightly dressed soba noodles. It was a very tasty and hearty bowl. We also ordered a kale, beet and blue cheese salad for the table, but what came out was their strange version of Caesar salad, which has chickpeas on it which of course we did not want. It took them quite a while to bring the kale and beet salad to the table, however when they did, it was quite tasty a combination I would not have thought of on my own The first night we ordered the passionfruit cheesecake which had a strange chocolate crust that was too thick and a very light topping of passionfruit. It was fine, but we would not order it again. The whole restaurant is a nice change from all of the really overpriced offerings in the area. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is professional and fun at the same time.

We ordered takeout and while waiting for our food, we browsed the grocery aisles and then checked out the surrounding shops. I really enjoyed the Ahi poke bowl. There was this tasty kimchi cucumber on the side with sweet o ions and avocado. The fish was fresh. G got the quinoa and vegetable bowl, topped with roasted chicken. It was a delicious salad with beets, macadamia nuts, kale, and more- and the chicken was nice and moist.

This is a great, fun, affordable option while staying in Poipu!!! We've already been here twice…read more The key is to go during their happy hour time from 3-6pm daily. The first time we spent just over $100 for a family of 5, and last night we got out of there for $88. That is a feat in this part of town! The happy hour is unbeatable. $7 drinks and 25 cent wings. Note that you have to have minimum two drinks per person, but they don't have to be alcoholic--we got a cocktail as our first and soda water as the second. The cocktails are quite large, so you can still get the $7 price if you order a soda or sparkling water as your second drink. The waitress was super helpful and let us know that last night! We went for taco Tuesday yesterday and the tacos were $1 each! They were good--not insane but great for the price and hit the spot. The service is great and the food and drinks come out quickly despite being busy. The drinks are standard fare, nothing crazy delicious, but for the price it's great. The food is all yummy. We especially love their chicken wings! Home-fried and lots of meat. All of the dipping sauces are excellent too. We haven't had a bad dish here! (Drank 04/24/26 FR @ 8:30pm): Please... no dangerous lava on beautiful Poipu Beach while I imbibed!…read more I decided to have a nightcap (or two!) at Lava's On Poipu Beach, on the ocean side of the Sheraton Kaua'i Resort Villas. It was time to wind down my first night here, but I also wanted to try one of only two bars/restaurants on the property during my limited time. Whenever I stayed at a hotel, I always wanted to try any onsite restaurants with hopes of getting a well-rounded experience. They offered breakfast (7am-11am), lunch (11am-5pm), dinner (5pm-9pm), and drinks (all day and a daily Happy Hour 2pm-3pm). They even delivered to your room if you were feeling lazy or not well. Would I order a themed cocktail such as a lava flow, or something else while I lazed steps away from Poipu Beach!? PURCHASE(S) Poipu Paniolo Cocktail ($18.00): Made with cranberry juice, lemon juice, ginger ale, simple syrup, Buffalo Trace bourbon whiskey, this was an effervescent fruity sweet elixir with a kiss of harshness from the whiskey. It kind of fit the tropical scene perfectly. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=aKkFSUKzr9qUdfys24MTqQ Koholā Brewery Lahaina Haze NEIPA Beer 16floz Draft ($8.50): Hazy rich orange color, citrus hoppy aroma, light body, citrusy hoppy flavor, slight mouthfeel smooth finish, and minimal citrus hoppy aftertaste. An easy hazy to enjoy! SERVICE One busy friendly woman managed the drinking degenerates at this "late" time of night (everything closed early on Kaua'i) before they closed-up in about 30 minutes. I quickly scanned the drink menu for my first victim, ordered that, and once last-call was made, I placed a final order. Each time, I was able to watch my drinks be prepared and gracefully ready. Everything was straightforward, and she did a wonderful job filling the orders, cleaning her station, and getting us out of the bar - mahalo! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) I had no vehicle, so I simply walked from my room. However, there was a nightly $40.00 fee for guests if they parked on the property, and there might've been some free parking along the many nearby roads and streets. Make sure to carefully read any posted signs. Plenty of natural lighting everywhere while numerous electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs all around the bar area but couldn't recall any background music since I was chatting with fellow strangers. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Wrapping up the night with a couple of drinks at Lava's On Poipu Beach was pleasant, soothing, and I would love to return to actually try their food which looked and smelled amazing when I was in the area beaching. I enjoyed my drinks, they surprisingly weren't overly priced, the views were not to be missed during the daytime, and the service was on-point and very professional. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $28.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip).
