I ate at the restaurant with friends. I had the catch of the day ($33). I forgot the name of the fish but it had miso sauce, black rice, and bok choy. All these ingredients came together so well. I also had truffle fries on the side ($7). I love french fries and these were some of the best I've had. The staff was very accommodating even though they were closing within the hour. They were very through to answer any questions we had. We got our food quickly. It just finished raining and we sat outside. I liked the rustic vibe.

This place is very cool as it is all from local and natural ingredients. Very chill covered outdoor seating they also have a full bar with happy hour options.

The ube cookie was so good. It had the perfect crunch and consistency. It was also extremely massive!

We stopped into Living Foods a couple of times during our stay--once for breakfast and once for lunch. For breakfast, I ordered the chicken and waffles (a favorite of mine whenever I see it on the menu). The fryer wasn't up and running yet when we arrived around 9am, so we had to walk around the plaza and come back at 9:39 to place the order. Once ready, it was worth the wait. My husband had the loco moco, which he really enjoyed. On a previous visit for lunch, my husband ordered the smash burger with fries (note: fries are separate--sandwiches come with coleslaw by default), and I went with the ahi BLT. Both were fresh, flavorful, and nicely done. Overall, Living Foods has a nice variety and everything we tried felt fresh and well-prepared. A solid choice whether you're stopping in for breakfast or lunch.

I love this market for minimalist açai bowls. No over the top adds or too much sugar. Just simple. Also a coffee bar and bakery. They carry Manoa chocolate and a lot of speciality deli items. And apple bananas! But no chocolate ginger cookies :( If anybody knows where to find the Heart flame bakery chocolate ginger cookies anymore, hit me up!

Don't you hate it when "healthy" =/= "tasty?" That is not the case at Living Foods. You can get fresh-squeezed fruit juices, delicious charcuterie, and local favorites like a loco moco (all of which I had for brunch) during a visit here. Servers are friendly, they keep your water topped off, and what I really liked is that they politely chase the feral chickens away with spray bottles (the chickens were here before you, so respect them!). Seating is outside basically in the breezeway of the shopping center, so it's nice and cool. Get out of the air conditioned comfort of your usual breakfast spot and come here.

The food here was fantastic and the drinks pack a nice punch! We had the Caesar salad with the fish of the day - the Smokey flavor was a perfect meat to complement the flavor of the salad. We also had the garlic hummus which was phenomenal with the veggies and bread. The drink of choice was the Iron Buttocks....50% moonshine was the perfect amount and complemented with strawberry puree to make a really nice tasting drink! The service was on point with our waitress being responsive and making great recommendations. The music was upbeat and welcoming, which really made for a nice and peaceful evening outside. It was so good by the way that we went back again the next night for our final hoorah on the island - we ordered the seafood pasta, the garlic hummus, and the Caesar salad along with their special old fashion and a Mai Thai! Cannot recommend this place enough!

    Such lovely drinks.

Cool market! Lots of take and go items of good quality. Great baked goods. Meats were pricey but looked good. Great location near restaurant. We LOVED the restaurant. We missed lunch one day and went here for early dinner. The waiter was sweet and fun. The fish dish we had was delicious. Great drinks too. We will return.

The chicken had a nice flavor and was nice and hot when it was served. The food was good, but not worth waiting over an hour in my opinion. You can make your own judgments, depending on how much time you have. We stopped by Leong's in Coconut Marketplace on a Sunday, which may have had something to do with the service. Plus, Kauai is a very small island and I was not expecting big city service speeds. However, it did take over an hour for us to get our food. That seems long, even for a small restaurant on a small island. We got to the restaurant and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table; not an issue. Once we got seated, we got water and coffee very quickly; not an issue. But when a large table (that was seated since we got to the restaurant) got their food after we had been waiting for 30 minutes, we started to get a little worried. The whole restaurant experience lasted about an hour and a half, and only about 20 minutes of that was eating. There were only two human waitstaff (and one robot which seemed kind of cool but mostly like an inconvenience to the workers), so I can understand somewhat. We also may have felt more pressured because we had to be somewhere after lunch.

We sat on the patio by the pool and luckily the umbrella was large enough to block the sun! The food all tasted great. The crab dip with 6 or 8 pieces of toasted focaccia was high quality with real crab not surimi. We ordered the flatbread with chicken instead of pork and it was also very good with a nice crispy crust and moist chicken chunks. The wedge salad was a large piece with crisp bacon, candied pecans, grape tomato halves and a tasty dressing. It only needed some red onion to make it perfect. The calamari were crispy but the portion size was too small and the pieces of calamari were too small so the ratio of crust to fish was too high.

But everything is very pricey and we had better breakfast elsewhere on the island. Lunch was also okay. Nothing to write home about. The one good thing was their Holoholo pie for dessert. Very tasty. We likely never would have eaten here is we didn't have the credit to spend. If you're at the resort and you need something easy, it's definitely somewhere to go but I wouldn't come here besides that. Also, they served me a water with a dead lizard in it! They didn't even care or really apologize about it.

This ended up being one of if not the best meal we had all week in Kauai and it's right around the corner from where we are staying at the Sheraton Kauai Resort! We only managed to get a photo of one of our four meals because we hounded the food so quickly, but you can imagine how good the rest of our food was when the pineapple combination rice looked like this. If we are ever back in town, you can guarantee we will be back at Koloa Thai Bistro! PS: a quick note for the management - get that sign at the bottom of the stairs changed because you don't need hibachi to get people in the door anyway!

The windows were open, so a breeze did come through although it was quite warm in there. They have several tables on the skinny balconies that wrap around the restaurant. Our main server was devoid of any emotion whatsoever - rather strangely robotic. There was another gentleman that was wearing an apron who was either a cook/manager or the owner and he was running around filling in the gaps. Of course, as is the cost of all food in Kauai, the prices were really high for the quantity given. They charge $14 for four potstickers so we did not get those. We opted for the Larb chicken and the Thai basil chicken which we requested spicy, actually very spicy and it came out totally mild. They brought us some garlic chili oil which was nearly rancid. The flavor of the Thai basil chicken was really good though with lots of wok hay. The quantity of the larb chicken was at least twice as much as the Thai basil chicken. It was milder, but it was still tasty. They also serve sushi rolls however I'm not quite at the point of feeling comfortable paying $25 for one roll of sushi. Maybe in a few days after I'm used to It!

The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing.
