OMG - the best smoothie every!!! I ordered a papaya smoothie and my wife ordered fresh cut papaya. Just amazing! Real friendly man helped us and pointed out various fruit options. If you come By here and are thirsty, you can't go wrong!
Small cafe in Kapaa with nearby street parking. The fresh fruit and smoothies were great, but the shave ice was just okay. I do not think they make their own syrups, so it was a bit overly sweet and artificial tasting to me. The fresh cut soursop was delicious and great to try while visiting.
Lana... I'm giving you 5 BIG Stars for your 50th Review, and let me tell you... You deserved Every. Single. Star. Every trip we come to Kauai, we always plan a day trip to come visit Kapa`a. We like to refer it as the "hippie" part of Kauai and if you've been here, you know exactly what I mean... But you know what, we love it! And this most recent visit, we stuck to our usual M.O. Find a central place to park, walk the streets, look at all the fun shops, grab lunch, maybe even a treat and just enjoy being off the grid away from the resort crowd in Poipu. Being that it was a little more humid this last visit., when we came across Lana's Cafe, we were extremely delighted to enjoy some shaved ice with the fam. This small mom + pop spot is just what Kapa`a needs! I mean c'mon... Beautiful Shaved Ice with optional Tropical Toppings... Fresh-Ingredient Hawaiian-Style Smoothies... Homemade Banana + Mango Bread... And on top of that... A mini fruit stand with local tropical fruit and Kauai honey to peruse and enjoy during your trip. The gentleman who assisted us was very gracious, maybe one of the owners? They do have a few benches on the side of the building for you to sit and enjoy your treat and get out of the sun. Pro Tip: if they have Sugar Loaf Pineapple... Get it! Don't ask, just do it! You can thank me later and then hate me after that... Cause it will ruin all other pineapple you will ever eat again. Yeah, it's that Good! And to Lana... Keep doing what you're doing!
What a great local spot! The shave ice was one of our favorites on the island (the sunrise flavors with sweetened condensed milk 10/10). They also offer fresh local fruit including sugarloaf pineapple, which is a must try if you're in Kauai, as it's unique to the area. You can purchase the fruit cut up for you or whole to take with you. They also make fresh smoothies and sell locally baked mango bread or whatever pastry is in season. The service is quick, the owners are amicable, and it's a cute little corner spot to sit and have a treat. We'll miss Lana's cafe!
We stopped by here once while we were out shopping because my youngest wanted to try coconut water from a coconut. She said it was good, but we ended up sharing it, which was fine by me! I loved it! Nice and chilled, they didn't take a machete to it, like the stands by the street do. We stopped by here again to get some shave ice on our last day in town. It was the perfect way to end our last day. They have a couple picnic tables available and beautiful fruit and breads for sale as well. Service was friendly and efficient.
i am a harsh critic but this place rocks! i got the smoothie with mango, coconut, and papaya two days in a roll and it was amazing on a hot sunny day after biking. i also got the banana bread that was amazing, one of the best bites on my trip to the beautiful kauai i will be back! esp with friendly service, clean bathroom, and some seating to enjoy it
such a fan of this place! has fresh fruit (pre-cut options too), smoothies, shave ice, mango sticky rice, & more! has nice outdoor seating as well & bathrooms if you are dining there! service is amazing as well, everyone here is extremely friendly! loved the mango sticky rice!!
Loved this fruit stand so much we went twice. Nothing like a blended fresh papaya smoothie and some extra fresh fruits on the side haha. Egg fruit was pretty good in my opinion. It's like a savory sweet potato. Fast friendly service safe from the rain. Wish they can make this smoothie for me everyday.
I badly wanted to try this place before I left from the island and I'm so glad I did. We saw so many reels about this place and I got the shave Ice and my husband got the smoothie. Both were so good! My husband said he was happy he got to try the smoothie and has no regrets doing so. Although I will say... this was one the best one shave ice I had on the island. The perfect amount of flavors and would want to try different ones or even make my own. If we're hadn't eaten lunch before or even we were leaving, we would have tried their fresh bread that they had just made. I think seeing the reels did this place justice, please go try it!
Lana's Café in Kauai is a gem. I grabbed a smoothie and it was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a warm island morning. Friendly staff, cozy vibe, and great quality all around. Highly recommend!
Great place to get some local and unique fruit! We tried egg fruit and whoa it was unlike anything we've ever tasted. I had the best mango I've ever tasted from lanas cafe. We didn't get a chance to try their smoothies or shave ice since we ate prior to arriving but we will definitely be back!
Amazing amazing amazing, 10/10, 5 whole stars! Really worth the money! When you think of Hawaiian shaved ice, you think of this place! Really loved this spot, don't miss out on it! They have many things you can grab, not just shaved ice. You can get fresh fruit, smoothies, and right next door someone sells breads and muffins. read more
We tried all the fruits here! My son has been wanting to try sugarcane and he finally had some fresh ones. We also tried cacao and some other fruits we've never tried before. It was a really nice experience and I like the vibe of the place. They have cute tables and benches outside to eat all the fruits. We also got their shave ice and it was also good! We might come back to try their smoothies since we were way too full to get it last time. read more

AMAZING fresh fruit juices and smoothies! We stopped by to get something refreshing before heading out for the day and tried the banana coconut smoothie and the banana mango coconut smoothie. Both were amazing and refreshing! We loved this spot so much we came back a few more times while we were in Kauai. Everyone who works there was so nice and friendly too definitely made our experience even better. Also loved the convenience of where the stand was located there's plenty of parking nearby and benches to enjoy your refreshments! read more

the guy attending to the front was extremely friendly and attentive. at first, we came and got just the mango sticky rice and he joked around saying we should get three because it's just THAT good (spoiler alert: we really regret not getting 3). and said the smoothies are good too. we decided to get their piñacoLana smoothie which was absolutely BOMB. the mango in the mango sticky rice was perfectly ripe and the rice was just the right consistency. the ratio of mango to rice is good too. it's a cute little storefront in downtown kapa'a. 100/10 recommend!!! read more

Fresh fruit - Great location - Good deals Just what we needed on a hot day. Got a mango pineapple smoothie, pinacolona with banana smoothie, and a $5 side of fruit. Took our drinks just behind the building on our beach walk. Fruit is fresh, drinks are chilled just right, and very tasty. I don't like to visit places more than once while traveling, will forsure make a journey back here! read more
Hubby and I each had a shave ice from here, but we tried soursop while we waited. The couple there told us all about it, etc. It's so good! Super nice and friendly, it's a relaxed outdoor space with picnic tables in front and on the side. The shave ice was delicious. We've been before, and we'll be back again. read more

One of the great pleasures in food is eating seasonally and locally, especially when the local place is Kaua'i and the local food is tropical fruit! I saw Lana's while driving through Kapa'a and made a mental note to pick up some fruit during my stay. I was so very happy that the woman behind the stand asked me when I wanted to eat the fruit so she could chose the perfect ripeness. The mango was the best I've ever tasted :) The fruit on the bottom right of the picture is called an egg fruit, and since I've never tried one before I got one! The interior has seeds that are inedible and the flesh tastes like cooked pumpkin. I didn't enjoy it raw, but I could see making a delicious dessert or custard pie with it. There are so many varieties of natively grown bananas in Hawaii, that I wanted to try them all, but the small sampling I did was a reminder that even a fruit as common as bananas all taste different when they don't have to be shipped or trucked long distances to market. While at the stand I got their coconut smoothie, a rich delicious dessert in a cup! read more

Fresh macadamia nut banana bread was so yummy! My kids enjoyed the chocolate chip banana bread too. We got two smoothies (mango pineapple and coconut banana) and loved both. Owner is super friendly. Top notch service. This is going to be our new go-to spot for a quick breakfast! read more

We enjoyed lunch at Lana's on 6/7! Seeing "Garlic Shrimp" posted on the facade of the restaurant definitely attracted us! We sat outside on the picnic tables after placing our orders with the friendly, helpful man at the register. Three of us ordered garlic shrimp. I had mine with Mac salad and rice, and my wife and friend opted for fries. The in-the-shell shrimp were plump and very garlicky--near perfection! The sides were very generous, and I "had to help" my wife finish her fries. My third dining partner ordered the coconut shrimp. She was disappointed that the shrimp were smaller than our garlic ones, and the heavy breading did not have a coconut flavor. In all, three out of four of us walked away very satisfied--and all of us with enough of a positive experience that we'd come back when we return to Kaua'i. read more
