We stopped by for dinner while staying nearby. We were craving comfort food after a week of traveling around Hawaii and were looking forward to eating something more homey. To start I got the lava flow blended cocktail which was great and super refreshing! Not too sweet and a blended drink is always perfect for Hawaii. Crispy garlic pork chop and chicken & eggplant in garlic sauce plates. Both were great! The pork chop was definitely the highlight of our meal, so tender and flavorful! The chicken & eggplant was great as well and I appreciated the eggplant after many days of not eating much vegetables. Love that they add chicken to the traditional eggplant in garlic sauce Chinese dish. Overall really yummy food in nice environment and very reasonable prices. Walking around the shops at Kukui'ula, we saw this spot for an early dinner. It was upstairs and an open air restaurant. Luckily there is an elevator a bit closer to the parking lot. The service was fantastic - the staff was really kind, welcoming, and helped out our family a lot including getting a hello kitty-topped water with straw for our little one, and letting us leave our stroller on the balcony nearby. The food, however, left a little bit to be desired. The furikake fries were okay, but felt like it was lacking something. Additionally, the meal of chicken katsu salad (since was craving greens on vacation), and the fried seafood platter just didn't hit as much as I expected. The dressing on the salad (sesame, or goma) was amazing and salad refreshing, but the katsu seemed a bit light (more breading than chicken), and the seafood combo only came with a little bit of rice. Overall, a fine meal, but the spot is probably a bit better for their brunch/breakfast options. read more

Good breakfast. We had 2 egg plates with potatoes and bacon/ham. The food came out fast (at 7:45am). Good portion sizes and everything tasted good, although the potatoes seemed to be the pre-made type and not fresh. A nice little bungalow very close to all the hotels on Poipu, offering some good eats with a strong island vibe. A very casual dining experience on the 2nd floor giving some good views of the shopping area. Food was pretty good. I don't think anything really stood out. The Dim Sum is definitely on the higher side of pricing, but it was good. Pineapple chicken was reminiscent of your regular battered/fried sweet and sour chicken. It was very good, but I don't think the price justifies the order. Overall service was good, and the food was satiating. We may be inclined to come in and try the other options on the menu, as it is pretty large, but other than proximity and convenience, I don't know if anything really reeled us in. read more

When we were seated for lunch, we unknowingly arrived as a construction crew working on the restaurant was on their break. When the drinks arrived and we ordered, their work inside the restaurant continued and was so loud we should have just left. That and the crew was going back and forth (with tools, etc) right past everyone's table. The restaurant really should have been closed, to be honest. What was the most annoying thing was the staff's almost caviler attitude about it - oh, you're hearing a construction noise? From our restaurant? Huh. The shrimp tempura was in a good sauce but overly battered/fried - we all thought if the shrimp were cooked just in that sauce and not tempura, you'd have a much better dish. The cheeseburger was reviewed as "eh..." The best was the Unadon, which was delicious. All meals consumed while hearing pounding and a power saw maybe 20 feet away. If you're trying to decide on what to drink, and you like it, get the Boba, which is a better deal (in price and volume) than a regular drink. Can't win em all! read more

Good was just as expected but even better was the price. Most of the restaurants in this area were way overpriced (in my opinion) but it is a tourist area. This diner was one of the few I saw locals head into. Ramen was ok. Not great. But good enough for everyone to eat every last night. Chicken terrykai was good. Tempura a little crispy but good. The service was great they made sure we never waited for anything and kept us Happy. Ambiance is more about the area. The hustle bustle of the shopping center in that area. It is busy. Upstairs within a shopping area, we didn't have any problems finding parking or the location. Service was helpful with any questions we had, and checked in frequently with water refills. We ordered a lot of things to share for the table. Shumai, ikageso, egg tarts, chicken wing dings, oxtail ramen, tonkotsu ramen, chicken katsu loco moco style. Everything was cooked well. Each of the fried dishes came out hot and crispy. I really liked the chicken wings with the sweet savory notes and that persistent crunch. The shumai were interesting. Located upstairs in the shopping center What a great place to have a great breakfast. The menu was extensive and had something for everyone. From traditional bacon and eggs to Hawaiian favorite like loco moco and spam dishes. Our waitress Camille was fantastic an attentive. Helped us order and gave stellar service. When we ordered coffee, my partner asked for decaf and was told they didn't have any. For a place known as a Hawaiian breakfast diner, that was a bit surprising. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and my partner went with the Silog Special -- a Filipino-style breakfast. My Eggs Benedict was good, and the eggs were done perfectly, but the potatoes were bland. The texture was spot on, but they really could've used some seasoning. Our server was friendly and attentive, keeping my coffee filled and our waters topped off. Ate here twice while in town. We liked all the dishes ordered: steamed fish, loco Moco, mapo tofu. Mapo tofu was made with a lighter gravy than traditional and pork belly rather than ground pork. My husband ordered garlic shrimp and we didn't realize it was a fried coated shrimp with garlic topping but otherwise it was delicious. The calamansi juice is good it was refreshing and you can taste the calamansi ( not watered down). Our food came promptly. And the waiter was very attentive. The ceiling is decorated with big fans. The restaurant is open I think no AC but with fans. This location is in the 2nd floor of a strip mall. It has elevators if you don't want to use the wooden stairs. Sesame bean filled balls! SCALLION PANCAKES! Real crispy noodles! We partook in all of the above and some veggie ramen as well. Tastes - after the piping hot dishes came out and cooled a bit - were very good and authentic. Host was cool and attentive. Location on the second floor was nice. Service works on Hawaiian time so don't come if in a rush. We were seated during lunch time and when no one came by after 15min, we had to go and grab menus ourselves. They have an assortment of brunch, Filipino, Chinese and Japanese dishes that felt a bit incohesive. Unadon: Average flavors but the steamed vegetables was very disappointing. Garlic shrimp: Came out piping hot but there really wasn't any flavors. Fresh Calamansi Juice with honey: Not bad. I thought about adding banana, but $3 for that is ridiculous, I mean bananas are everywhere here. Overall decent, wouldn't be my first choice but I enjoyed most of it.
