Really nice place with awesome service and televisions to watch the games. It's definitely not your traditional ramen but it's still tasty. I got the shoyu ramen that was good and it had all the fixings. My wife got the miso ramen and it was definitely different, they even put a slice of butter on top. It wasn't super flavorful but it was solid. We also got the deep fried gyoza that was good too. The ramen is 3.5 but the service bumps it to 4. We had a female waitress that was so attentive and nice, I wish we would've got her name.

New place second floor of Koala Village shopping center, itself new. We arrived well before their 530pm opening time, and were the first ones in to an empty spacious new restaurant. Takes 10 minutes for our orders to arrive. Wife's $18 vegetable ramen is bean sprouts, onions, carrots and bell peppers in a Tonkatsu broth. Slightly on the spicy side, wife liked it well enough to finish all the vegetables, leaving a small amount of the broth -too salty by itself. My $20 Chashu ramen also comes with 4 pieces of slices of chashu in a tonkatsu broth, but not as spicy as the vegetable ramen. Both dishes have a good amount of thin but tasty yellow ramen noodles., combined with bits of green onions. Loved the broth but wished the chashu were thicker -they were cut into slices no more than 1/8th of an inch thick, so the actual amount of pork was on the small side. Other than skimping on the amount of pork, the dish could have had some bean sprouts in it. Next time will order the $2 egg and the $3 option for more noodles. Price competitive with Hapa Kauai which has ramen noodle dishes at $27-$33, including the hard boiled egg. We came on a clear day, but it rains a lot in Kauai. Would not like to climb up and down the 20 outdoor stairs without a landing.

Cheap and delicious Japanese meal. The location is in the back of the shopping center that it's located in, up the stairs, and on the 2nd floor. The fried rice was tasty and pork chashu meat was fatty and well seasoned. There was a large TV showing fish swimming in the water. Very appropriate for my young children. Highly recommended!

More seating than i expected. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. While there are no kid menu items, they offered options for my picky 5 yr old. My husband and I ordered the Shoyu Ramen, and it was delicious. The broth was flavorful, ramen noodles were cooked perfectly, the boiled egg had a perfect slight runny to the yolk which I loved, and then the pork was Sooooooo good. I would go back to have this again.

Good size bowl and average ramen. Recommend the shoyu over the charchu. The charchu had real char flavor. The service was quick. They had indoor and outdoor seating.

Nice space on the second floor overlooking the Koloa mall. We all got the shoyu ramen and it was pretty darned good by any standard. Compared well to ramen in Tokyo. Service was fast. We got the ramen about 5 minutes after we ordered. Serving size is also generous for $18.

This place is still my jam. Idk what it is about their chicken karaage tho! The service is quick and easy. The restaurant is nice and cozy. This time I sat outdoors which eating ramen in the hot can be meh. But the inside is pretty nice and breezy. I always get the shoyu ramen.

    Tonkotsu Ramen

The food was average to average minus. It came out quickly and the karaage was okay, not too impressed. Then the ramen, it was INCREDIBLY salty and almost inedible from all the overwhelming salt. Other than the food, this place is really cozy and a nice little restaurant. So unless you love eating salt, I wouldn't recommend.

Such a great little spot for Japanese food in Kauai! Shoyu ramen was yummy! The miso ramen had a great little spicy kick with lemon peel pieces in the broth. The noodles were really good. Our kids loved the okonomiyaki and the beef was super tender! They even gave us a taste of their gyoza which was so flavorful and cooked perfectly! Very attentive and friendly staff.

We shared the large green papaya salad - fresh crunchy and delicious - and the chicken satay bowl (roasted Jidori chicken thighs, bok choy, soft egg*, scallions, sweet peppers, chili crisp broccoli and a peanut, coconut, satay sauce) - both were fabulous. We also had the sake flight - unique and fun to try. Highly recommend!

My server suggested that the bartender could easily make my requested drink as it is a full service bar, but when I went up to the bartender he seemed so pissed that I would even ask for something off menu! I get that he didn't want to make a drink with egg whites (why?? they are so good, and a good sour is a classic cocktail). But it was his tone and attitude that just seemed so off.. I've never met a bartender who didn't like engaging with a customer (maybe sub in condensed coconut milk if you don't want to use egg whites?). All in all, that completely changed the tone of my night. I felt embarrassed for even asking, and that never should have been the case.

We were seated on the covered patio, overlooking their lawn and the Hanalei River. The food was straightforward and good, but what we liked the most was our server. I sadly don't recall her name but she was a young girl who grew up in Hanalei and clearly has passion for food and for service. She knew the menu and spoke confidently about it, and shared little anecdotes along the way - she was attentive, informative, joyful, and yet not intrusive. A shining service star. The mixed tempura starter was tasty. The salad was a plate of fresh veggies - fresh but basic in presentation and flavor. I personally might skip this next time. We really enjoyed the daily special of soba noodles with yuzu sauce. Bright and citrusy. And the sushi rolls we enjoyed were clean in flavor with a focus on the fresh fish: -Next Best Thing -Hamachi -Avocado roll Another friend said that she orders the sushi rolls to go. And she also told me about their neighboring fish market, if you want to get fish to make at home (we did not have time to check that out). To cap our our meal, we shared a piece of the Homemade Dolphine Ice Cream Pie and it was decadently delicious!
