Old menu showing chicken entree prices (with salad included).
    Michelle N.

We've ordered from here regularly since moving to Dutchess nearly 5 years ago after trying many places and found this to be the best pizza in the area. Sadly, it seems that they've changed ownership within the past few months and our last two orders were disappointing. A few weeks ago, we were in the mood for a sausage pie and when my husband got home, the pizza was a sloppy mess. The cheese was sliding off all over the place like it should have been cooked more and the presentation of the pizza was awful. If we weren't so hungry, we would've brought it back. Decided to order again tonight and this time we had the opposite problem. I opened the box and said "what the heck?" My husband joked that they confused our order with someone who wanted their pizza extra crispy. The crust was visibly burned in several places and was overcooked this time. I ordered a chicken entrée which no longer comes with a salad. The employee told my husband that they lowered the prices and the salad was an additional charge. The menu that I have at home may be outdated but it shows the same $17.95 for the entrée, including a salad. I don't care about a salad necessarily and I understand food prices have gone up, but it feels dishonest. I guess our love affair with Antonellas has come to an end.

    This is supposedly meatballs.

My girlfriend and I ordered a Sicilian pie last night; half meatball, half pineapple and prosciutto. We get home and apparently ground beef is the same thing as meatballs to the pizza guys at Antonella's. Here's a tip Antonella's, have your online menu reflect the correct toppings. If you don't have meatballs, it shouldn't be an available topping for selection. And greasy ground beef on a pizza is nasty. Very disappointed. Won't be going back any time soon.

    Disappointing mozzarella sticks

They said their mozzarella sticks were "homemade". The taste and appearance of them has determined that was a LIE. I feel deceived and robbed. Pizza toppings are also misleading as far as quality goes.

Chicken bacon ranch slice cut in 1/2

Really solid pizza. Nice staff and always a good selection of slices. Never had a bad meal here. Settled on a chicken bacon ranch slice which is one of their better specialty slices. Also had a baked ziti slice which was really satisfying. Their regular pizza is very good and I debated buying a road slice but my wife talked me out of it. Their Sicilian is that fluffy upstate type that I'm not a huge fan of but all of their Italian food is good as well as their pizza. If you are shopping at the mall and don't want to stop at the food court it's right down route 9.

I had to start eating before I took this picture because it just looked so tasty!

Got a slice of lasagna Pizza. It's got a lot of toppings on it and felt like it weighs about 3 lb. Staff is really friendly, and they have a very large variety of specialty slices. Slice that I got cost $4, and is a really good deal for the money. I would recommend this pizza parlor if you are in the area.

I'll just put it like this. I live an hour away and I make up excuses to come here! The sauce. It's what keeps me coming back every time!

I mentioned this cute little town because it's just one of the little niches along the Hudson river that makes a perfect little day trip. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: really quaint storefront, and first impression.Enter through the cafe door which also functions as a retail shop for handmade objects like soaps, etc. The gifts have an upscale vibe-worth a trip back. We had about 15 minutes to kill before attending a Yelp event across The Street so we opted to take the chill off by purchasing a hot beverage at Norma's. The staff is pretty laid-back, friendly, but laid-back. If you're in a hurry, I'm not sure if this would work. The hot and cold beverages are very straightforward and you can get some vegan options here. There were two behind the counter, but I felt they were a little engaged in their personal banter and we're not that attentive. Not a real sense of urgency or purpose. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but once they did give us their full attention, we let them know that we were waiting for an event across the street and didn't have a lot of time. They asked us if we'd like to sit down with our beverage and we opted to do so since it was pretty cold outside. We ordered two hot chocolate And two homemade biscuits. They gave us a table number stanchion for the table and let us know they would be bringing it to us. We did not need to wait. We took the three steps down to the main dining area, where we were pleasantly surprised that they were having a live event - in this case it was a storytelling event. There was a table available for the two of us so we sat down and quickly realized that the table was so off-balance that it post a potential safety hazard. When I placed my hot chocolate down and rested my wrist, the entire table tilted forward toward me. This is an easy thing to fix, but my guess is that it's been this way for a really long time. That's unfortunate. All that aside, the room was really cozy and had a lot of character - lots of two top and four top tables to provide a very intimate setting with each one having a good view of the small stage Minutes went by and there was no biscuit delivered. More minutes went by and we began to wonder if they had forgotten. I guess is that they weren't making the biscuits from scratch so most likely they did forget. Since we had already paid for everything with a pretty generous tip, we waited a a few more minutes. Time ran out when we noticed that the event attendees were lining up across the street. That's something we could see from the really great big windows that faced Main Street. Reluctantly, my sister and I got up from the table and headed to the counter where we had made the order. We let them know that we needed to go and asked if the biscuits were ready. They seemed perplexed at first and then a lightbulb moment. Yes. I suspect they did forget the order. I wouldn't bother so much but two biscuits and two hot chocolates. It was about $20 plus tip so when they recognized that the biscuits were still missing, they asked if we would like to take them to go. The lack of awareness was disappointing because they were clearly not busy with anything else A minute or two later, they emerged from the kitchen with a small bag, presumably containing the two biscuits. Service was definitely lacking, particularly for what is a bit of a higher priced venue. Maybe we caught them on an off night but my sense is that laid back attitude is built in to the business model. Would I return to Norma's? I'm not sure. The hot chocolate was good, not from a mix, but would it bring me back? I'll let you know.

Bert is the baker and chef and he knows his craft. I got a fruit cake ( very moist and rum filled ) and a gingerbread house and both were phenomenal. From what I saw spying at patrons plates the breakfast and lunch food look delicious and everyone seemed very satisfied with what they had. The menu is somewhat seasonal it seems. For example , I've heard Bert does a good chicken pot pie but not during the holidays bc he concentrates on foods for that time of year. Remember that this is a mom and pop kinda place. Only one person in front and Bert in the back so don't expect fast service. But that is why you should come here to rub elbows with the locals and just enjoy life and good food.
