We really enjoyed our meal at Antik Greek Kitchen! We made a reservation for an early dinner ~ 5. As you can imagine, it wasn't too busy. However, Ive head it does tend to bring in a decent crowd during busier hours and I can understand why! We ordered the saganaki appetizer and individual meals. Saganaki - this is a fried cheese of sorts. It has a very mild flavor that comes to life with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. The menu mentioned they typically flambe it at the table, but the waiter advised they no longer do this. It would have been nice to experience, but regardless it was quite enjoyable. I would say you probably would need to be a cheese lover to enjoy this app (which I am)! Lamb burger - I ordered it well done and it was absolutely delicious! Really great flavor. I enjoyed it with a side of fries, and it came with a lovely side of Greek salad, tzatziki, and pita. Overall, I was happy with our experience! It's a great place to come for good food and warm vibes!

The food was pretty good. The beef gyro was fantastic so I cannot recommend that enough. The grilled octopus appetizer was prepared deliciously. The meatball appetizer was a little dry. My jalepeno, lime juice, and tequila was a little blah but okay. The sangria was good. Our waiter was nice, the inside decor was pretty sleek and minimal. It was a little disappointing to not have any bread or dips brought to the table when you get there, but overall it was a pleasant dining experience.

This is a tough one. What was good was very good. Several items were just meh. And then there were the mussels - a disaster. I chose this restaurant when visiting my Mom in NJ. We were looking for Greek food and, although we had another favorite closer to her home, we thought we'd give Antik Greek Kitchen a try. The menu was a major draw - it has the usual Greek specialties plus a number of interesting items that we had not seen before. As someone else wrote in their review, from the outside the restaurant doesn't have a great sense of arrival. In fact, the curb at the entrance is high and not conducive to providing a safe access for someone (like my Mom) who uses a walker. Inside, the black ceiling and white upholstery was striking and comfortable. The restaurant filled up quickly and the servers were busy. They *seemed* to have enough wait staff but the service was sooo slow. I mean ridiculously s-l-o-w. And to make matters worse, the food delivery was disjointed. My grilled octopus (a starter which was served incorrectly even though I went over the specifics with the waiter several times to be clear) arrived long before my two companions' appetizers. Fifteen minutes later when they finally received their food - and at different times - mine was cold. Ugh. My Mom ordered Sauteed Mussels which were purportedly cooked in a white wine and garlic sauce. The mussels were old, overcooked and chewy. The sauce was reminiscent of dishwater; no flavor, not even a wisp of garlic. They were inedible. I ordered Taramosalata (caviar spread) for the table. It was a generous portion, served with very tasty soft pitas sprinkled with Greek spices (favoring oregano), that was plenty for two people. This starter was one of the highlights of our dinner. The real winner in the appetizer department was the Susami - Fried Feta covered with Sesame Seeds and Honey. Absolutely delicious. My husband couldn't eat the whole thing and wound up bringing it home. It was that good! My Mother and I were so put off by the Mussels that we really didn't want an entree. However, my husband 's Gyro Platter had some of the best meat we've both ever had in a Greek restaurant. Tender, flavorful and moist. A delight. A huge portion that will provide for another meal. Sadly, the baklava was disappointing. Soggy, not crisp on top. Couldn't taste the honey. Our server, Sergio, was pleasant and professional. I don't want to harp on his lack of attentive service because, as he said, the kitchen was backed up so delivery took way too long. Like almost 45 minutes for my husband to receive his entree. Sergio was apologetic and the tip I left did not reflect what was unacceptably slow service throughout our entire meal. I had to bring to Sergio's attention that the Mussels were still on our bill, even though we did not - and could not - eat them. He said that the manager had refused his request to remove them from our tab. I told him how disappointed I was and that this situation would reflect poorly in my review of the restaurant. Funny how the owner/manager removed the charge when we paid and could not have been friendlier. Smart move, Maria. Good customer service did reward you with 2 stars instead of 1. My Mom, who lives nearby, will not return to Antik Greek Kitchen. She was very unhappy with our experience there and will dine at her favorite a few miles closer to her home in the future when craving Greek cuisine. My husband would go back for the Gyro Platter, the best he's ever eaten. I would give them another try ... maybe ... but would stick with the Taramosalata appetizer and the Gyro Platter that my hubby had ordered. We also took out two containers of Avgolemono Soup to have another time and I am hoping they will prove to be authentic and satisfactory.

Delicious! Stumbled upon this place randomly while in NJ. We stopped in for a late lunch early dinner and it was amazing! Everything was freshly made and not salty! The service was fantastic from the owner greeting us at the table and talking to us multiple times. The ambiance is great! Feels like a home. Decor is beautiful even the bathroom is nicely decorated. So happy I found this place can't wait to visit again!

For anyone planning on dining at Antik's while traveling east on US 46, there is no direct access, you need to either cut across the McDonald's or All Pro Express Car Wash to get here. Building is plain and rather unassuming, but don't worry about that. Interior is very nice, with both classic and modern elements that compliment each other. I dined here on a quiet lunch day, and the only other people I saw were picking up catering and take out orders. I ordered from the lunch menu and went with a Gyro, but also added fries that are hand-cut fresh. They serve canned Coke products. Gyro was large with long strips of Lamb & Beef and the tomatoes were very fresh. Tzatziki Sauce was spot on. The surprise hit of the meal were the fries, as they looked overdone, but were actually perfect with a nice seasoning. Service was good and my food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I would absolutely dine here again when in the area.

Happy to have found this fresh food gem w delicious Mediterranean offerings. Owner Maria is lovely and cares about her customers and what they're eating. A lovely experience. We'll be back!

I had a great time at this restaurant. Service was amazing. The ambience is calm and makes one think of the movie "Mama Mia". For the appetizer, I recommend the Susami, a dish of watermelons and crunchy, sweet feta cheese. For the entree, the gyro platter is delicious and massive. Price range slightly above average but the food is worth it.

We love Antik Greek Kitchen, located in Fairfield, as the food continues to be amazing, authentic, and well seasoned. My partner, our friends, and I decided on an early dinner on a summer day like last Sunday. Reservations were easily made via Open Table. Greeted by the owner, Maria, who was actually Greek, she was very hospitable and accommodating. For starters, some of us opted for FRIED CALAMARI, SAGANAKI (pan-fried vlahotyri cheese), and DOLMADAKIA (homemade stuffed grape leaves). For our meal, we went for the WHOLE LITRINI (Red Snapper), MOUSSAKA (Baked Eggplant), SPANAKOPITA (Homemade Spinach Pie), PAIDAKIA (Grilled Lamb Chops), LAVRAKI FILETO (Branzino Fillet), and GYRO (Lamb & Beef). The portions were huge and good enough for another meal. The price was comparable to the area. The only downside was that not all meals came out at the same time. The service was a tad slow, even though there were several other tables occupied. We enjoyed our meal and will continue to recommend this place.

A couple coworkers recommended Antik to me today and I'm so glad they did! I ordered the lamb gyro plate. The lamb and tzatziki were both excellent. The lemon roasted potatoes were such a surprise and were some of the best potatoes I've ever had. The owner and server were very nice and attentive. Delicious food! I'll definitely be back.

I tried this family owned restaurant on recommendation from my Yelp brother, Eloy. I've been to Greece a bunch for work and this place brings me right back! I tried the gyro with lamb. Loaded with fresh veggies and meat and the tzatziki is obviously made in house. Absolutely delicious. I got a chicken kebab platter for supper since its gusting to 40mph and snowing at present. The chicken is juicy and seasoned perfectly. The fries are delicious. I got extra pita for the meal and it's awesome. If you're craving Greek give this place a go. Support small businesses. 5.0 / 5.0

Such a lovey place. Plenty of parking. There is also a small outside patio. For appetizers we ordered grilled octopus, grilled calamari and tzatziki with pita, which we all enjoyed. For entree i ordered Moussaka which was huge, definitely an entree that can be shared between two people. For dessert we had the cookies and Galaktobouriko which was also a very large piece of dessert. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the food. SERVICE: 5/5 FOOD: 5/5

Walked in before 10, was given a friendly greeting and had a cup of coffee in my hand in less than a minute. Great coffee. Choosing from a couple of dozen enticing choices wasn't easy; I went with a Mexican omelette. Served with pretty good home fries and very lightly buttered rye toast, I couldn't finish it. Little by little the small space with about a dozen and a half tables slowly filled up, yet I was never rushed. The second cup of coffee was s good as the first, and it was topped off by another friendly waitress (love teamwork). The place did get quite loud, but the sounds of happy people enjoying great food is one of the joys of life. A small parking lot abuts the restaurant. I intend to go back and I highly recommend it.
