They advertise in the Entertainment book but don't accept their coupons. Pass on this place!

They advertise in the Entertainment book and don't accept their own coupon. Dishonest business practice. Why do the advertise just to not accept their own coupon? We ate a much nicer pizza place in town so thank you for rejecting your coupon!

Thought I would give this place a try. Needless to say very disappointed. I wasn't feeling well and this was on my way home. All I wanted was some chicken noodle soup. I decided to get some garlic knots with it . Came home and the garlic knots are so greasy and oily that I can't even eat them, and the marinara sauce that it came with taste burnt. The soup cost $15 and there's barely any broth. It's just overloaded with pasta and vegetables which some people might like but that's not what I wanted. It is bland and lacking flavor and the chicken is chewy. Not going back.

Chicken parm lunch

I ordered the shrimp and calamari combo and wasn't disappointed. There was ample shrimp and calamari and the sauce was very delicious. It came with a side salad that was a decent-sized portion. Andrea was our server and did just about everything for us. Great job by the staff at Gencarelli's!

Haven't been here in a minute. Forgot how hot and fresh everything is. They renovated the place. It's huge. Very clean. BYOB as well.

White bean and escarole soup

Overall very good Italian. Loved the escarole soup and the vodka sauce on the meatballs and pepper was great. The sausage and pepper sun was very dry and probably needed some cheese.

First pizza that came. Half plain, half white with spinach.

Great food, very busy led to service being a little slow but worth the wait. Fried calamari was very good. Deep dish pizza was really good.

Amazing food that's all I have to say. Honestly it's really good plus even for a busy day it came quite quickly to my house.

Picked up order, missing salad dressing and never gave me the bottle of soda. My fault on soda, but they should have seen it on my order.

Was able to order the Tuesday family special on a non-Tuesday which was great…read more Lots of food!! Huge chicken parm pan, pasta, salad, and pizza. We also ordered garlic knots which were good. Would definitely order again. Great price point. Ordered it to go so I didn't get to experience the dining in however it looked well decorated in the dining area. And the service was excellent. It was pouring out and the girl helped me to the door with the heavy order.

I'm honestly a little mystified at the strong reviews this place is getting. I've been here twice…read morein the course of a week and don't plan on coming back. I came by most recently yesterday (a Sunday) in the mid-afternoon with two of my top-tier chums for a post-movie late lunch. As an aside, Sunday afternoon to me is pretty much dictionary definition Italian dinner so I would expect Popolari's best for that. I hope for their sake that's not what we got. This is a bit of an odd spot for a restaurant. This area of Little Falls is unrecognizable compared to a few years ago, and it's not really a walkable area - the downtown area is probably 15-20 minutes away by foot, and Popolari is undoubtedly benefiting primarily from the insane number of condos/townhouses that have cropped up across the street (which is making day-to-day traffic a nightmare, but that's not their fault - that's probably on Mayor Damiano and his aggressive building up of the town without doing the same for the basic infrastructure surrounding it). The parking situation here is pretty rough - there's literally four spots out front with seating for significantly more than that inside, so I would imagine most people are either foregoing sit-down and getting takeout, or just parking on the street within the block or so. Pretty cozy spot. I'm not trying to be insulting, but in a lot of ways this felt like a by-the-slice, calzones, etc. type of pizza place masquerading as a bougie Montclair Italian restaurant. It has an Italian car propped outside and some cool Euro 60s shizzle on the walls. It was pretty empty when we showed up and we had our pick of spacious booths to the side. My one chum who came with me both times commented that it feels more comfortable at night, which I would agree with. I opted for the Vodka Chicken Parm on the lunch specials menu (one of my fave dishes/specialty pizzas). It was just okay. Not particularly flavorful and it was clearly reheated like a slice of pizza would be, so the high temp overwhelmed the profile, which was a shame. I had some pasta left over and just didn't waste the calories on it. Worse than that though was the Creme Brulee I had for dessert. Honestly the worst I've had. From what I tasted, it was literally just Jell-O pudding (and it might have been the off-brand of that) with a very thick, cheap sugar layer on top. The temperature of the pudding (this was not the custard it should have been, for sure) varied dramatically bite to bite; it should have been cool but parts of it were randomly hot presumably from inexperienced sugar torching. I'm very surprised an Italian restaurant would push out a substandard product like that. The service was friendly but also not the best. Our waiter (we had the same one both times) was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. But - and this to me is likely on management more than him specifically - he didn't know to bring our food out at the same time, which is pretty much hospitality 101. This happened during both visits, where someone got their food and then awkwardly waited between five to 10 minutes for the other plates to arrive. And within this one specific meal, it happened for both the entrees and the desserts. It's a shame. The price point to me is pretty competitive, and it's a convenient location for me. But when the service and the food just aren't very good, it's tough to justify giving this place another shot. I have to assume the original Bloomfield location is significantly better.

Following a friends retirement walk-out we were welcomed to an after walk-out party at Rosa's…read moreItalian Restaurant & Caterer at 515 Main Street in Little Falls. Rosa Morelli, the proprietor of Rosa's Italian Restaurant just happens to also be Our friends Mother-in-law so we all knew that we were in store for something special. Needless to say, the food was great. We started off with some fantastic and delicious appetizers, including a variety of homemade potato pizza (really good), prosciutto and mozzeralla, bruschetta, eggplant caponata, plus fruit and a variety of other tasty treats. The entrees (all served family style) including pappardelle with sausage in cream sauce, chicken francese, grilled shrimp over bracolli rabe and fusilli with vodka sauce. Amazing meal and Rosa and family could not have been nicer. Rosa's is a BYOB and there is street parking only. It is located less than a mile away from the Willowbrook Mall. By request, there was not too much meat served tonight because of the religious holiday (ash Wednesday). We ended the meal with some Italian pastries, a celebratory cake commemorating the occasion and tartufo. A great evening with long time friends and good food. Interesting note about Rosa's Italian Restaurant and Caterer. This restaurant is not generally open to the public. It is not a walk in restaurant. If you would like to come to Rosa's you have to pre-schedule your dinner in advance with at least 8 or more people (up to 40 according to Rosa) and Rosa will accommodate you. You can discuss selected entrees if you like but generally the meal will consist of the dishes that Rosa is making that day. That meal will consist of a large variety of great dishes prepared for your group and served family style. This is a very cool dining experience in a old school Italian neighborhood restaurant. Nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. Like eating at your Italian grandmothers house. You can contact Rosa at (973) 785-9177. Bon appetito!!! 02/26/2020
