Had dinner here on a very busy Saturday night all of the dinners were very good. Food was delicious. I had the special fish. The Dover soul was fresh and delicious. I do recommend coming off peak hours cause it was very crowded on a Saturday evening we're gonna come during the week. Can't wait to try more of their delicious food. Service was really bad! We waited a lot for the food and it came cold and they even made us change our choice from mussels to clams stating that the chef in turn doesn't know how to do it well. We even asked for water because no one was around to refill our glasses. The food was good, however I will not come back because of the bad service. read more

We had a table for 4 outside. Room was warm enough especially with the heaters. Live music which was great. Services were fun & friendly. Great service. We started with the muscle special which was delicious. Sauce was just the right amount of spicy. Stuffed artichoke was good (little too dry for my taste) but it was tender. Pasta fagioli soup. Pollo della chef (Panko breaded chicken pan fried in brown butter sauce). Excellent! Very tender. Tagliatelle with short ribs was outstanding. Lamb chops were very flavorful, cooked perfectly. 4 nice lollipops and a nice crispy end piece. Delicious. Pork chop Bolognese .. phenomenal! Flavor explosion with the meat sauce. Can't say enough about the food and service. Will definitely be in my rotation. read more

Forget about the food, there was an issue with the bill (CC fee even though NJ has a law saying you need to post this in the menu-they didn't). Waiter cursed at us, the owner didn't stop him. It isn't worth commenting on anything else at that point. You're in the hospitality industry. Study that word for a bit. read more

(Thats a lot) So I ordered from the specials list. Appetizer: smoked salmon, capers and caprese salad. Large enough for 2-3 people. Perfect for a summer night but it's fall. My mistake. I had dinner here one time and that's all it took to keep me coming back. Their Roman Style Baby Artichokes Salad is amazing!!!! Their Penne & Vodka is also delicious. I also love their Gnocchi Bolognese it's so delicious. Staff is very friendly and pleasant. I love this place and will continue to go there on the regular. Amazing, amazing, amazing dinner. The good energy was flowing from the moment we walked in. The place has a nice classy, clean look, and we were greeted and sat right away. Appetizers for exceeded our expectations especially the octopus the Nonna meatball were very good and the fried calamari taste like fresh fried calamari. We ordered the ink linguine, just for a little extra and truly enjoyed. Steak, Veal, and pasta entrées were all delicious. Tabitha, Frank, and the rest of the staff were top-notch and made it easy to make the decision to visit again. One of the best meals I have ever had from start to finish. Decided to go there last minute and the hostess was able to fit us in. This seems like a family own restaurant because the attention to detail was on point from start to end. I had the rack of lamb special with a pistachios and cheese crust. It came with mash and broccoli. My plate was completely empty at the end. The lamb was cooked to a perfect medium temp. They literally melted in my mouth. My friend had the zuppa de pesce. Also delicious and enough to feed two people. For desert I had the almond joy cheese cake and it was perfection. This restaurant is Byob and offers live music on the weekend. I would call to make reservations because it gets very busy and inside is small. Indoor and outdoor dining. Its byob and there is no cork charge. We came here for a birthday celebration and sat outside. Around 8ish there was live music outside. They give you complimentary bread, the first batch was cold and hard but when we ordered more bread the second batch it came out warm and soft. We all ordered from the specials. The food was delicious but some of my family ordered the steak and it was too veiny. And my uncle ordered pork chops and it wasn't cooked all the way. But overall the food was good. Great dining experience from prompt seating for six of us a few minutes before our 7:30 appointment on Saturday, 8/17/24, to decadent chocolate lava cake and coffee finale. Waiters and service staff were friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed a special calamari appetizer and a mussels appetizer. Dinner entrees of zuppa di peace, lightly breaded and fried calamari, and spaghetti carbonara were a few of the delicious dishes. My wife went here to celebrate our anniversary and am glad we chose this restaurant. My wife had the Cheese tortellini soup, which she really enjoyed. The home made pasta was everything, best described as smooth and decadent! We had the Zucchini flowers stuffed with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for our appetizer. The concept was great but not the best executed, very greasy. Thank goodness for marinara dipping sauce it came with. I think it needed more cheese and possibly a thicker batter, as this reminded me of a zepoli batter. The Ceasar salad was OK, it seemed like a lite version in terms of flavor. My wife loved the soup, and my apps were OK, but the entree's we ordered were both home rubs. My wife had the Braised short ribs with pasta, I forgot and can't even pronounce the name they had on the menu, but it was AWESOME!!! I had Pork chop bolognese, which was like Fried Pork Chop Parmesan on crack!! It was so good I even tasted this extremely small piece of breading on the tip of the bone that wasn't covered in sauce, and as expected there was so much flavor in the pork chop itself without the layers upon layers of meat sauce and cheese. As for desert we had the Lemon mascarpone (something else I fail to remember) and the cheese cake with salted caramel topping. For starters the caramel cheesecake was sooooo rich, like after one bite I was good. Because it was packed with so much sweetness, in a good way, that I had to take a break from the sweetness, sip some water and go back in with a clean pallet. Not complaining either, it was just so sweet and rich that I HAD to take my time to really appreciate it and not be overwhelmed. The lemon marscarpone thingy was type velvety and lite in each bite. It did have coconut shavings also, which turned me off and had I known these were on there wouldn't of ordered the dish. BUT, the lemon was so pungent, I was able to power thru, so again, no complaints. Overall it was a great experience, the staff was extremely friendly, professional and polite. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone (actually already have) and would return again without question! read more

We've been here several times and have yet to be disappointed... and not just me... the couples we've come with have always agreed with us that Spiga is their new favorite place. I can't remember all the entrees we've had... except for the short rib with parpadelle... which was awesome with a really nice tender short rib on top. The desserts were pretty amazing too. I would have loved a taste of every one of them. Makes me kinda sad that I lost all this weight and now I can't enjoy desserts like I used to. Just got back from a wonderful meal at spiga. Wait staff was great, food was great (had shrimp fra diavolo...very spicy), ambiance very nice. Only issue, a young lady came to our table said we couldn't leave our jackets on the extra seats and took them away. I don't mind the tip, but she did not go to all the other tables and take their jackets. When we left I said to her if you go to 1 table, you should go to all tables. She said she did go to all tables...she did not. She was very snippy and rude...not a way to treat a customer. I mentioned it to the owner, but he did not address the issue or her rudeness. I came to spiga years ago and absolutely fell in love. I don't know what took me so long to come back, but the food here is nothing less than phenomenal. Breaking the bank isn't so bad when it's BYO! My family and I started by ordering two crispy calamari special appetizer covered in a sweet glaze which I could literally not stop getting into. And their bread.... so fresh! I could be set with just those two. Following we had a succulent plate of stuffed artichoke, which everyone devoured as quickly as it came out. Going over the specials, at least 15-20, it was a hard choice because I know the chefs here really put some love into their work. Almost half of the table ordered their pasta special with shrimp- and I must say, they were smart for doing so. It's not everyday an Italian comes across an amazing plate of pasta....... so when it happens it really strikes home! That's for sure. I decided to try the lamb special coated with goat cheese cooked how the chef would like it- juicy, tender, and full of different unique flavors that worked some magic on my tongue. I ate a lot of the pasta and the more it was in front of me the more I kept eating. Sadly I ate way too much to order some desert.... but their lava cake was so tempting I had to HOLD MY BREATH.
