Attended a sweet 16 here the other night. Everything was on point and well done. Service was fantastic. The food although a buffet was hot and delicious. Even the fried calamari stayed crispy! The salad was fresh. The salmon with garlic and lemon was AMAZING. So pleased.

This place is awesome when you first step in you feel like you're in Italy. From the food to the waiter Biagio (ask for him) it won't disappoint. It's my first time here and now it's my favorite new place. Also the owner came around and asked if everything was ok.

Very good first impression. Small, intimate setting with good service and fair pricing. I also appreciated how management subtly oversees to check-in on you but doesn't really interfere with your meal. Thank you

This is always one of my fav. Italian places to go to. Their food is very authentic and doesn't taste like it was out of a jar. You're able to taste that they use fresh ingredients. The service is always good. They are friendly and attentive. We came in while there was a private party going on and they were still able to accommodate us which was great and appreciated. They do have a private room for parties upstairs too which is nice if you'd like to host an event. Highly recommend for a night out for dinner or just lunch. Would recommend for catering and hosting as well.

The evening started with the most authentic Italian greeting from the waiter, Biagio. He was very attentive, professional, funny...simply amazing! The food was a chefs kiss all across the board. Absolutely delicious! The desserts were awesome as well. The owner came around to chat and spent some time getting to know us, which was very refreshing and gave a good ol'school feel. 10/10 give it a try !!!

Go here if you are invited to a private party. Had a lovely time at a bridal shower in the upstairs room with an open bar. My favorite part was the penne vodka and the anti-pasta. The calamari was good as well and the fresh bread. I didn't really care for the main food as it was room temperature but the plate was piping hot but it didn't make up for the food. When I eat eggplant parm I want to taste eggplant and I only tasted the breading, cheese and sauce and it was meh for me personally. The mashed potatoes were cold and dry. I wasn't feeling the caesar salad. The broccoli was very good. Everyone who ordered the chicken franchise said they enjoyed it.

The food was amazing, service was A1, Abel was very professional and polite. The vibe is really nice, elegant, and the deserts are very good ! As you can see I had a cannoli, the best one I've had yet.

Would definitely order again. Great price point. Ordered it to go so I didn't get to experience the dining in however it looked well decorated in the dining area. And the service was excellent. It was pouring out and the girl helped me to the door with the heavy order.

I'm honestly a little mystified at the strong reviews this place is getting. I've been here twice…read morein the course of a week and don't plan on coming back. I came by most recently yesterday (a Sunday) in the mid-afternoon with two of my top-tier chums for a post-movie late lunch. As an aside, Sunday afternoon to me is pretty much dictionary definition Italian dinner so I would expect Popolari's best for that. I hope for their sake that's not what we got. This is a bit of an odd spot for a restaurant. This area of Little Falls is unrecognizable compared to a few years ago, and it's not really a walkable area - the downtown area is probably 15-20 minutes away by foot, and Popolari is undoubtedly benefiting primarily from the insane number of condos/townhouses that have cropped up across the street (which is making day-to-day traffic a nightmare, but that's not their fault - that's probably on Mayor Damiano and his aggressive building up of the town without doing the same for the basic infrastructure surrounding it). The parking situation here is pretty rough - there's literally four spots out front with seating for significantly more than that inside, so I would imagine most people are either foregoing sit-down and getting takeout, or just parking on the street within the block or so. Pretty cozy spot. I'm not trying to be insulting, but in a lot of ways this felt like a by-the-slice, calzones, etc. type of pizza place masquerading as a bougie Montclair Italian restaurant. It has an Italian car propped outside and some cool Euro 60s shizzle on the walls. It was pretty empty when we showed up and we had our pick of spacious booths to the side. My one chum who came with me both times commented that it feels more comfortable at night, which I would agree with. I opted for the Vodka Chicken Parm on the lunch specials menu (one of my fave dishes/specialty pizzas). It was just okay. Not particularly flavorful and it was clearly reheated like a slice of pizza would be, so the high temp overwhelmed the profile, which was a shame. I had some pasta left over and just didn't waste the calories on it. Worse than that though was the Creme Brulee I had for dessert. Honestly the worst I've had. From what I tasted, it was literally just Jell-O pudding (and it might have been the off-brand of that) with a very thick, cheap sugar layer on top. The temperature of the pudding (this was not the custard it should have been, for sure) varied dramatically bite to bite; it should have been cool but parts of it were randomly hot presumably from inexperienced sugar torching. I'm very surprised an Italian restaurant would push out a substandard product like that. The service was friendly but also not the best. Our waiter (we had the same one both times) was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. But - and this to me is likely on management more than him specifically - he didn't know to bring our food out at the same time, which is pretty much hospitality 101. This happened during both visits, where someone got their food and then awkwardly waited between five to 10 minutes for the other plates to arrive. And within this one specific meal, it happened for both the entrees and the desserts. It's a shame. The price point to me is pretty competitive, and it's a convenient location for me. But when the service and the food just aren't very good, it's tough to justify giving this place another shot. I have to assume the original Bloomfield location is significantly better.

Appetizers: arancini, calamari, and eggplant parm. All were exceptionally good. Next time, I plan on having the arancini and eggplant as my main meal. My better half had the pappardelle special, which I happily finished after she couldn't eat any more. Prima had the monkfish, which she's still talking about a week later. I had the cacio e pepe--perfectly balanced in flavor. For dessert, we shared hazelnut gelato, just as good as any we've had in Europe. BYOB, plenty of parking, and the ambiance was excellent. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu after the deep freeze. Looking forward to having a bike nights this coming spring/summer.

The reservation was easily made via Yelp. We have discovered this establishment by chance every time en route to one of the entrances on Garrett Mountain. Unfortunately, the exterior doesn't draw one in. However, upon arrival as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the host and got a table in the corner at this cozy, warm, and welcoming interior with simple decor of pictures of Italy and music playing throughout the two dining areas. The menu offered Southern Italian cuisine and was limited, but we found meals we liked. Miguel was our server and made us feel so welcome; he read out the specials. As an appetizer, we decided on the Polpette Amore (meatballs) and Charcuterie Board. For our main meal, we opted for Papardelle Bolognese, Linguine Alle Vongole, and Lasagna. Complimentary bread started our meal. The pasta was homemade, but the meat sauce was bland. The Linguine Alle Vongole was tasty and well seasoned. The portions were healthy, and the price was comparable to the area. The staff was super attentive and always taking good care of us.
