Menu. Everything was delicious.
Katie N.

I came here for an event, so my review is based only on the service, food, and drinks. As we entered the private room, we were offered wine. I had their cabernet sauvignon and it was delicious. The bread was excellent. The crust almost reminded me of a salted pretzel. The chicken meatballs were flavorful. Calamari was ok. For the 2 pastas that I got to try, the spicy rigatoni was good. Chicken vesuvio was tasty and moist. For the grand finale we had cheesecake and tiramisu. Service was excellent. Park in the orange garage as that is the closest to the restaurant. I left around 8 pm and the restaurant was busy. I definitely recommend reservations.

Who knew a Monday night could feel like a Saturday? Antico Posto was buzzing, full of energy, conversation, and that lively restaurant hum that makes you feel like you picked the right place. The space is beautiful, though the tables are... let's just say neighborly. Great if you enjoy bonding with strangers, less great if you like a little elbow room. The menu is interesting and inviting. We started with the parmesan artichokes. Crunchy and satisfying, with nice pieces throughout, but a bit shy on flavor. It felt like it almost got to the party but stopped just outside the door. For mains, everyone genuinely enjoyed their dishes. I had the gnocchi della casa with porcini ragù. The gnocchi were soft, light, and pillowy, though just a touch dense and missing that subtle potato flavor that makes you close your eyes for a second. Not quite at the level of my mom's or grandma's (but let's be honest, nothing ever is). The mushroom sauce was tasty, though it leaned slightly vinegary. The pistachio-crusted whitefish was a standout. Perfectly crisp on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. Definitely a win. The risotto of the day was creamy and comforting, but it felt like it was missing that little spark, that "something" that takes it from good to memorable. Drinks were a highlight. The Sicilian Negroni and Fields of Tuscany were both well-crafted and delicious. No notes there. For the price, it's a solid spot and worth experiencing at least once. Come for the energy, stay for the drinks, and maybe bring your best "I don't mind sitting close" attitude.

I came across Antico Posto during a visit to Oak Brook Center and I was pleasantly surprised. It was warmer outside when I visited so they were able to seat us in a covered patio area. The inside of the restaurant is large. The restaurant was busy during my visit but they still had ample seating available. My wait time wasn't that long but I would expect you'd have a longer wait for a larger party vs my two party. Anytime I go to an Italian restaurant I always try the chicken parmigiana because this is typically a staple item and they're less likely to mess it up. Antico didn't disappoint with their chicken parmigiana! The chicken was well seasoned and the sauce was flavorful. I was easily able to get two meals from my order so it's priced reasonably. I'm used to city prices so the food was reasonably priced.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Our server was a little absent minded and they were slow bringing the bread but it was worth the wait . The desert that I loved is gone and replaced with an olive oil cake that's delicious. They have delicious roasted coffee and the food was good but the scallops were a little salty . Minestrone was tasty just needed more beans . The cheese ravioli was definitely homemade and my mocktail was delicious. I love the ambience here . The lights on the wall need to be cleaned but all in all a great experience. They are also part of lettuce entertain you so I used my points . Will definitely be back .

Truffled Mushroom Pizza

Went on a Sunday at 4:30 with a reservation and it was packed. The service was good and food was amazing. I got the Truffled mushroom pizza and it was delicious - the crust itself was chefs kiss. Also had a scoop of the espresso gelato for dessert. Again, delicious. It's a bit of a cramped place. It felt like there were too many tables for the space and getting to the bathroom through where the servers exit from the kitchen seems hazardous but overall a lovely experience. Atmosphere and volume were pleasant. Would definitely go again!

Adding this updated review as it's been quite a few years. And over the years I have consistently come back to this restaurant because first the menu is always changing and to the quality has truly been consistent. The only thing that's been inconsistent with all the numerous visits over the years has been the service, which is really what's holding me back from full five stars. For example, when I speak about service, I have been here multiple times for lunches and for dinners and depend, depending on the waiter that you get, someone will actually pack your food for you. Some will just simply bring you your box. Or someone will give you the option. So this is an inconsistent practice amongst the staff, which clearly tells me that there is some type of inconsistency in the training and expect expectations set by the lettuce entertainment group. What is also keeping me back from a five stars is that at least 3 to 4 years after Covid the lettuce group and the melman's continue to keep the 3% surcharge on the bill and then require you as a consumer to request to remove it. I hope everyone realizes that the 3% surcharge does not go to your weight staff's pocket in any way shape or form. It goes back to the Melmans only. Posting new photos of new dishes, as I mentioned, the menu is always changing, which I absolutely appreciate and portions Continue to be fair over the years.

LOVE!! A great spot for a very enjoyable meal. My husband and I stopped in for lunch and decided to take advantage of the perfect weather and Antico Posto's outdoor patio. I did peak inside and it is dim giving off a great setting for a cozy date night. Service throughout was excellent and timed out well. Within minutes of being seated waters brought over along with table bread and a parm and olive oil spread. There's a QR code on each table allowing guests to pay the bill once they are ready to check out. This makes it convenient for anyone who is there for a quick meal or just ready to get their shop on. We shared the fried calamari and angel hair pomodoro pasta. The calamari was overcooked but it was still pretty good. The pasta was delicious, noodles were cooked perfectly and I love how they use fresh mozzarella in this dish. All the flavors went well together. To wash things down I tried the garden refresher zero proof drink. It was exactly like its name, refreshing!

Complimentary Bread Service with Oil/Cheese/Veggies

I'll say this right off the bat... I'm not a huge pasta or Italian food person. However, I absolutely loved Antico Posto. We ordered the chicken parmesan; the chicken was crispy, juicy, and flavorful. The marinara sauce had a good tomato flavor and paired so well with the chicken. The hot honey pizza was lovely as well; I loved how it had a hint of sweetness from the honey but a kick as well. I originally came for the bread service, and it did not disappoint! The bread was fresh and airy, and it was a match made in heaven with the oil/giardinera. The service was perfect; our waitress was so sweet, and she made sure to check in on us even though it was busy. The ambiance was beautiful. The inside was a nice fine dining Italian experience with an outdoor seating experience that's lovely since you can see all the people walking in the Oakbrook Center mall.

Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka
Tessa B.

My mom and I decided to take a trip to Oakbrook for a little shopping, and we stumbled upon this restaurant -- we're so glad we did! We decided to give it a try for lunch, and it completely exceeded our expectations. We were seated right away and served fresh bread with an incredible olive oil mixture that was absolutely to die for. It was honestly hard to stop eating it so we'd still have room for our meals! We ordered the Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka and the Risotto with steak (a special that day). The Rigatoni had just the right amount of kick and came in a generous portion -- I only wish I'd added some spicy sausage or another protein to go with it. The real standout, though, was the Risotto. It was packed with flavor, and the steak was cooked perfectly to a juicy medium rare -- honestly better than some steakhouses I've been to! Our server was wonderful -- attentive, kind, and quick to refill our waters. The prices were also very fair for the quality of the food and service. Overall, we were so impressed and left feeling full and happy. I'll definitely be coming back!

Amazing food for the price! Enjoy walking the Oak Brook mall and then checking out this lunch or dinner spot that's in the heart of the outdoor mall! Really feels like fine dining but closer to $25-30 per person. Try their appetizers too!

And nice little birthday card was at our table

The service was Amazing sitting outside! I'm really glad we didn't get seated inside as the restaurant as I saw it was filled when we were leaving. My friend and I split two simple meals, the eggplant Parmesan, and delicious gnocchi We got a delicious Amalfi cocktail as well! This is a great place to meet up and eat a great meal. I was celebrating my friend's birthday with her, and she was given a lovely slice of tiramisu with a candle in it from our great server. Only other thing was to just make sure no extra charges are added to your receipt before you pass off your card.

My wife called it a perfectly medium Strip Steak Giardiniera*

My wife and I were first-timers! I immediately noticed that the average age of the patrons was AARP! But my father always says, when old people frequent an establishment, pay attention. It must be good! Well, he's not wrong! The food was really good, it's not overly expensive, and the service was excellent. The bread and oils were scrumptious! The food came out within 10 minutes. My wife commented that her steak was a perfect medium! I enjoyed a generous number of shrimp in my spicy rigatoni. Speaking of... it was spicy! It had a beautiful kick to it that took a few bites to hit. I loved it. The only problem I had is that the music was a bit loud. We're already talking about going back next week!

A 45 minute drive out of the way to eat at an Italian restaurant in Oakbrook mall, stay with me! I really enjoy visiting Antico Posto. Have been 5x now and somehow never got to reviewing it. Perfect ambiance for date night, girls night, a family meal or a celebration. Love the outdoor patio in the summer time. Standouts today for a girl friend's birthday dinner were the truffled whipped ricotta, burratta caprese, cranberry spiced sangria, tiramisu and complementary bread and oil starter (that marinated oil is SO good). Had spicy vodka pasta for my entree but found the sauce to be underwhelming, I think the eggplant parm would've been a better pick. I'll have to try that the next time I visit. Parking is easy in the garage right next to the restaurant. Reservation is easy through OpenTable. Service was great. My only gripe is a few more veggies entrees would be great and I wish it as open until 10! But no hesitations otherwise to be back.

The overall presentation was a bit sad but I guess there is only so much you can do with a salad. It tasted good and that's what really matters. Service did seem to slow down by the end of our meal though. It took a while to get the check and an even longer while for someone to collect the check. Overall, though, a solid dining spot to celebrate something special or even just a casual shopping day.

The tomato sauce was flavorful, and the shaved Parmesan and arugula complemented the dish beautifully. Unfortunately, the arancini themselves were disappointing, as the coating was much too thick compared to the small amount of rice filling inside. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was unfortunately very dry and overly salted. I chose the pappardelle with short rib ragù. The fresh pasta was excellent--perfectly made with a wonderful texture--but the ragù was also overly salted, which overshadowed what could have been a great dish. One of the highlights of our evening was the service. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The hostess, who may have been the owner, also stopped by our table to check on us, which we appreciated. Overall, this certainly wasn't the worst Italian restaurant we've visited, and there were several things we enjoyed. Located in what used to be Anthony's, the Italian steakhouse, the ambiance is actually quite nice- but it's the service that needs some work. We stopped in after a meeting in the hotel for a drink with a small group. The space is nice- leather chairs clustered around tables in front of a fake fireplace. Murals on the walls, and a bar that stretches across the one wall. Even though there wasn't a big crowd on the night we were there- service was slow. We finally walked up to the bar to get our drinks. We ordered a snack of some chips and guac but it was disappointing as there wasn't enough guac to go with the quantity of chips provided. If you like a good martini- they've got them here- but no blue cheese olives which is a must in my book! It's a bar in a suburban hotel. I didn't expect much and that's what I got.

It looked harmless and we were mainly going for wine and to catch up with each other so I bought the certificate and off we went. The Den is located inside the Oak Brook Doubletree hotel and there is no indication from outside the hotel where the restaurant is so I punted as far as parking was concerned. Luckily, I picked the correct side of the hotel. At first glance, the inside of the restaurant is a little dated, but it was clean, cozy, and quiet. I was directed to pick any seat I wanted. Looking over the menu there were some affordable starters/small plates, and a decent selection of entrees (@ 5 non beef and 5 beef). The wine list was nothing special either in information or choice. I was going to start with a Pinot Noir, and asked about a particular Wine maker as nothing else was listed on the sheet besides the wine maker, appellation, variety and vintage. I knew that wine maker had several labels of Pinot Noir so I asked the server which they were pouring. He came back and said it wasn't listed on the bottle. I guess I could have asked to see the bottle, but it just seemed like too much work for me too. I went with it and it was fine. Started with a Caesar salad with no croutons. Not only were there no croutons, but the listed "crispy prosciutto" and cheese was missing. Whatever. I was STARVING and ate it without complaint. Next on the list was a cheese plate. The cheese plate was listed as having brie, blue and aged white cheddar, along with grapes, crackers and walnuts. What we got was a young yellow cheddar, some smoked gouda, and boursin cheese spread with crackers and dried cranberries. Again, i was using a gift certificate so I didn't want to make a fuss, but my sister and I brought it up to the server that basically nothing that was described on the plate was actually on the plate. Also mentioned the salad mistake too (might as well go for broke). He apologize and went back to the kitchen and see what was up. When he came back he apologize as he noticed the salad was incorrect but didn't do anything about it, and he also said that there were two different menus going on and the chef was working off a different menu. He then brought out a much bigger plate with a little brie, some blue cheese, what I think was a mild mexican cheese, and something that tasted like minibabybel. Still no cheddar. We ordered more wine, and got some olives and I ordered a rib-eye. The server suggested I get the all-you-can-eat NY strip, (thanks for bringing that up) but I still went with the rib-eye. While only 14 oz, it was decent and bone-in (which was a nice surprise) and I would think I great selling feature. For our third round of drinks, the server suggested a meritage they had. My sister stayed with the cab, but I tried it. It wasn't bad, but it was very warm. When we asked for the check, he brought it out and I noticed it was just under $100. I waited for him to come back and explained I had one of those $50 off it you spend $100 certificates and we would probably need to split another glass of wine. He explained that it would be no problem to just use the certificate now as he had not charged for the last round of drinks as a thank-you. That was really nice of him, but it was really something he should have addressed when he first dropped off the check..." hey folks, sorry for the inconveniences you've experienced. I got you a round of drinks. I hope you'll try us again." Overall, our server was nice, but he lacked presence on the floor. And there were only 5 tables at the most going on. Now I get that this is a hotel venue, so perhaps repeat business isn't a priority, but with better service and some quality control, I could see this place really taking off as an after-work location. As it is now, I would go back if someone else wanted to go, or if I had another gift certificate, but it definitely isn't on my list of "must go back" spots.

This was an unacceptable situation experience, I will not visit this restaurant again for a special event or for a weekend night out.
