I was disappointed with our experience this afternoon. We stopped in for lunch and the place was generally empty - there were more staff in the building than patrons. We both chose the soup and salad lunch with the smoked salmon chowder. Chowder was good and hit the spot, but the romaine greens in our salads were partially frozen. In addition, the service was severely lacking. As I mentioned before there were more staff in the building than patrons and it took 10 minutes, once seated, to be greeted by our server. Server spent the least amount of time at our table as possible, often avoiding eye contact and scurrying off before our needs were met... and we didn't have many. We've been to the Anthony's Cabana location in Anacortes multiple times and have a great experience each time, so with those expectations and the service received, you can understand the disappointment. On a side note, if there is anything you can do about better sealing the building that would be ideal as about halfway through the meal the sewage smell from the marina began to seep into the restaurant, making us want to leave as soon as possible. read more

Oh man. If this place was 15% cheaper, it would be five stars. I had the salmon with a delicious local pilsner. My wife had a pasta dish and my parents each had a steak. Good portion sizes, the salon was perfectly seasoned and the potatoes and asparagus complimented it well. No complaints about the food at all, just wasn't "special" for (with an appetizer) almost $50 per person, plus tip. Service was good, the view of the marina is awesome. Our first time here not coming back anymore. This is why View is nice bu the water(that is the only plus about it) We come on no say hello to u one just pass by on excuse at all. We ordered Beefwellington is pricey but willing to try it also ordered Mac and Cheese with chicken and prosciutto , Fish and Chips and small pizza. After at least 45min wait on the food finally came. Beefwellington was swing in oil the dough was not cooked properly, Mac and Cheese was not so special we could have just cooked at the house. Fish and Chips was no taste at all the French Fries was salty the only good is the Pizza . Our server never checked on us if anything else we need. I saw probably our server three time like taking our orders and when I ask for drink menu but she gave me wine menu never ask if I drink which o don't and one time she refill our water and took our payment at least 4x . read more

Not impressed by this experience. We requested a window seat and were seated in a booth while 3 window seats sat empty most of our visit. 5 minutes after sitting we got water. Appetizers came before our bar drinks. (One was a hot app so it took time) Dinner was bland, everything seemed taste the same. Ribs were dry. We passed on desert. My husbands favorite course. Husband and I went for an early dinner on a thurs. night recently. Sat out on the outside deck. Beautiful Evening. Had a special peach lemonade spiked w/vodka. We started with calamari, yummy! Loved the dipping sauce it came with. I had the fish & chips, hubby had the boneless ribeye. The reason giving A 4 out of 5 star is that the steak. & my fries were Overly seasoned, way too salty. Well been here 45 minutes so far 15 minutes for drinks and Our food still hasn't come.. We ordered the hamburger off the happy hour 40 minutes ago.. Still hasn't arrived. I asked for bread was told it would be a two dollar plus charge in the rude attitude I said that was more than OK. We just moved to the area and go to Lombardi's regularly... Not impressed with our choice .. When paying a babysitter the time is money.. The kind hostess Paige was only girl who cleared table and was working her heart out! Was told by manager and employe someone would bus me a table when available .. Got to Anthony's at 530pm. Sign out front said happy hour 3pm-close so I figured I might not get a seat. I walked into the bar and no one was sitting at the bar. The lounge tables were pretty full. The bartender was very pleasant and showed me the happy hour menu. Items ranged in price up to $9, but the menu was very basic. The item at the top simply said "bar burger" with no description. I opted for the wild Alaskan salmon which was good, but nothing spectacular. The fish was cooked well and I went with double vegetables for the side instead of the stated cornbread pudding. The food came out very timely and I was in and out in less than an hour. The prices seem very comparable to the area prices as my salmon was $26. read more

But I mean I decided to stop here after a long day of boating out of Everett. We decided to give this place a try. The atmosphere was clean, and I kept. Their prices seem a little high to me for the quality of food that they delivered. The only reason I did not give this a 5-star review was the wait times on our order. However, the manager was extremely apologetic about the time that it took to get our ordered, and they made several attempts to make sure that we are comfortable. I still recommend this place in my opinion to people with families, or Gatherings with groups. Another nice feature is if you can get a window close to the marina on a nice sunny day to look out at all of the boats and sail boats out there. It adds to the atmosphere of eating good food, and great views of the water. I definitely would consider coming back and eating at this place in the future. read more

My wife and myself thought it would be a good idea to head to the waterfront for a nice evening dinner. We chose Anthony's Woodfire Grill as this would be our first experience dining there. Upon arrival, we took a seat in the bar. A server greeted us and brought us some water to start. We waited a while to actually have our drink ordered taken and also waited a while to have to receive our beverages. We had to grab our own menus and silverware from the table next to us. We placed our order and received our appetizer and had to send it back because it was not fully cooked. Our server immediately removed the item from our bill for the inconvenience and the appetizer was replaced. We waited a while for our food, then we noticed that patrons that came in after us were already eating which was slightly frustrating, but we assumed that maybe they were regulars. After receiving our food, the server checked on us maybe twice and never asked if we wanted another drink, etc. I would say that our first impression of this establishment was below par and if we were to try it again, it would definitely be at a different location. read more

We went for our anniversary dinner and was terribly disappointed from the service staff to the quality of the meal. The person who waited on us was not friendly, wanted immediate decision on what we wanted from the bar to what we were going to order. We asked to take a few more minutes to decide and she literally walked around the corner and was back in less than a minute insisting we decide on drinks. The food (cod & chips and Halibut & chips) was over cooked, mushy and the fries were cold & not flavorful. The wait person never asked how our meal was, and never made comment to how much we didn't eat. We will not return, sadly as we have been at this restaurant in the past that was a great meal but no longer the quality we had hoped for. We called around 7:00 pm asking if they could accommodate a party of 17 for our aunts birthday. They told us we can have a reservation for 8:30 and if someone over the age of 21 wanted to arrive earlier and check in they can sit at the bar while the tables were being prepared. We arrived around 7:30 with our group and as mentioned was able to receive drinks and appetizers for the kids while we were waiting for our table to be prepared. Everything from the time we walked into the door to the time we left was nothing shy of 5 stars. Our waitress was very attentive, the bar tender was very busy but was still able to hold good conversation with us and was happy to explain the drinks she was making in front of us and any questions we had about the menu. I took my friend to the Woodfire Grill 2 weeks ago for lunch as a thank you for some work done on my house. We sat in the bar with a nice view and no one else around. The lunch menu was sparse and very overpriced. I ordered an open face fish sandwich that came with a small dish of coleslaw. He had a cheeseburger with fries and a drink. The bill came and was $55 with tax and 20% tip that in my opinion was not earned. I don't think we were even thanked for coming in. The candle on our table was lit as we were waiting for the bill. The fish sandwich was a disappointment for the taste and price. It was worth about $5 not $15. The coleslaw was not worth the calories and I left hungry and disappointed. Won't go back. read more

I have long held to the opinion that most halfway decent restaurants have one or two menu items that are very good even if a lot of other stuff on that menu is mediocre. Judging by the solidly three star rating for Woodfire here on Yelp, I'd guess that they would fit that stereotype. So, with that being said, I'm not going to try to sell you on Woodfire as a concept or a full service restaurant or anything else I'm largely ignorant about. What I am going to try to sell you on is the following combination of the pepperoni and sausage wood fired pizza and the extraordinarily comforting and creamy tomato soup. If you order that pizza and you order that soup and you dip that pizza crust into that soup, well, partner...that's gonna be a great little meal there for ya. I like to wash my pizza and soup down with one or two of their happy hour manhattans or a tall glass of beer. And if it's a sunny day and I can look outside and see water and boats, I'm gonna enjoy myself even more. I must say that I find the happy hour prices to be very reasonable too. read more

The chicken cobb was actually really good and filling. I wish I could tell you how the sourdough bread was. We asked the server 3 times...she never delivered. The manager that delivered our salads said he is waiting for a fresh batch...even after following up again we never received the bread. I have been an off and on patron of Woodfire, meeting friends who enjoy this place, in the bar for drinks and their bar menu food. I need to preface that, except for my morning coffee and breakfast, I only eat in restaurants. That said, previously I have found the Woodfire bar fare good, but of late it has been very bad. They changed the menu about 6 months ago and after that it really has been disappointing. A couple days ago I ordered their St Louis Ribs and I got 3 miniscule ribs drizzled in a tasteless BBQ sauce, the ribs had achieved a granular texture and had been on the steam table so long that the bones literally dissolved in my mouth with only a few shards evident. I gave them credit for presentation, stacking 3) 3" ribs a bit like firewood with a colorful drizzle, but in reality they got lost on the plate and it went downhill from there. Which brings me tonight...I ordered their Bar Burger/Frys and again, kudos for trying to make it look good but it was the first time I have ever seen fries used as a garnish. I counted 13 fries, the longest of which was MAYBE 3", and most were of the ilk you find at the bottom of your Dick's Burger sack, broken and hard. The burger itself was 3/4 size, not unusual for bar/happy hour fare but listing it in caps at the head of their bar menu leave a customer expecting more. Which brings us to expectations...if there is such a thing, I consider myself a professional restaurant patron. I only eat out. I spend a lot of time traveling and would like to say that most eateries introduce new, and keep current costomers involved to a large extent, by their happy hour and bar fare. I drop in and eat a killer bar burger and note it as a place I would like to bring business associates and dates. Why do I care...well in this case, the restaurant is close, the location is killer, at the marina where I keep a boat, and I am disappointed in finding a place I have enjoyed previously, becoming underwhelming. We had the opportunity to dine again at Anthony's Woodfire Grill. This time we had the Long-Bone Rib Eye Dinner for 2. It was a supreme creation. It was called the Long-Bone for a reason. We've never seen a bone that long in our lives. We ordered the rib eye rare. That is definitely the best way to serve it. The flavor and texture were perfection. As I understand it, the rib eye starts out before cooking at 5 pounds. The meal starts with Caesar salad and a big bowl of sourdough bread. Then we moved on to our Long-Bone Rib Eye Dinner for 2, which comes with champ potatoes (mashed) and green beans, which were excellent accompaniments. This meal makes a definite statement. For dessert, we had the caramel apple sundae. The caramel apple sauce is prepared in Anthony's own kitchen. It was perfection with sweet flavor and apple sauteed to maintain a slight exterior firmness and yet tender on the inside. It was so good. We ended up taking more than half the meat home to use in future meals. The long bone we brought home for our neighbor's dog. Our neighbors commented that they too had never seen such a long bone before. If you want to have a fun, memorable meal, this is definitely the entree to order. I wanted to give this place a try since I recently visited Anthony's Homeport and was curious as to what the Woodfire Grill offered. I went here on a Thursday with my boyfriend. We walked in and weren't greeted as maybe two workers passed by and just looked at us. Until one employee noticed us and asked if we have been helped. We asked where the bar was and she directed us and clarified that we needed to be 21 or older to sit there, which was obvious... I had their romaine salad with shrimp, and boyfriend ordered calamari and cod with fries. The food was ok. I was not a big fan of the salad as the shrimp was very soft and room temperature. The calamari was good and the fries were as well. Don't know if I would revisit this restaurant but I at least gave it a try... read more

The view of the marina and the water was beautiful. Our waiter, (I think his name was Julian - sorry!!) was amazing. He made sure we were taken care of and we felt welcome. The food was fantastic. I only went here for a drink with a friend, perhaps 45 minutes or so before closing. We both ordered a black opal. This isn't an everyday cocktail, but it certainly isn't something a bartender shouldn't have heard of. Regardless, the bartender said he didn't have the stuff to make it (vodka, rum, and chambord?), but he never even took the time to verify that information. Sure, there are more complicated ways to make it (using blackberry liquer and the like). He just said "Can't make that" and didn't offer any alternatives. I went with an overpriced glass of Pinot Noir, my friend with Hypnotiq and Vodka. Well, I watched the guy pour every drop out of the Hypnotiq bottle (which wasn't even a shot) and then instead of grabbing another bottle and topping it off, he just compensated with vodka. The result was a completely clear drink that tasted nothing like Hypnotiq at all. Thank goodness I don't live near here. If this was my local watering hole, I'd just as soon stay home. read more

I came here for the first time and was really pleased with my experience. I came on a Sunday when they had 20 dollar surf and turf sort of deal. You could pick from 3 selections or so, I wound up getting prime rib and shrimp, and I believe it came with mashed potatoes and veggies. My boyfriend got filet and half a lobster tail. Our waiter was very nice, and had great timing. Didn't linger but checked in frequently enough that I didn't feel like we had been abandoned. I wanted a coconut mojito but he wasn't sure if they could make me one. They didn't have any sort of coconut cream/flavoring for it but they made me a mojito with coconut rum, and he was very nice when explaining all of it, and making sure it was ok. I appreciated his effort to try to give me what I wanted even if he couldn't quite do it 100%. They brought out a bread for a starter with some butter. The butter had a wavy cut to it and it had clearly been refrigerated or cooled before hand which made it difficult to spread. They also placed a sprig of rosemary on top of the butter. I thought it would have been cool if they actually had rosemary butter. I wouldn't consider the butter situation a negative thing, just sorta funny. We got calamari for our appetizer. It was good, pretty hard to screw that up. My entrée was delicious. The prime rib had a lot of flavor, and I got medium rare just like I requested. The potatoes and veggies were delicious, and so was the shrimp. While I liked my entrée if they still have the 20 dollar surf and turf special I think I will get the filet and lobster the next time. I generally favor filet and lobster anyways. Parking was easy, and the view was pretty. With everything we got, I had enough for lunch the next day and everything tasted good then. While portions are not HUGE they're enough for me, and I felt like this special had a very reasonable price point. I was surprised to find that I actually liked the menu better here than at Anthony's Homeport despite being a total seafood person. I think The Woodfire grill would be a great choice for mixed parties that like seafood, and some that don't. The selection here is much better in my opinion. I was very skeptical going in because I've had some less than satisfactory experiences at Anthony's Homeport. Our waiter was very nice, and I would recommend this place. read more
