Brought my Aunt and Uncle to this establishment for a 'fancy' dinner last night. BIG MISTAKE. The receptionist was kind and the server, PAM was amazing. The food - not so much. The SEAFOOD DIAVOLO was an overcooked mess, rubberlike lobster and overcooked clams and mussels. Angel hair pasta was the only thing good about this $35 dollar meal. I found it to be OVERLY expensive for the food which I did pay for, refused to take it back for a RETRY - that's a no-no. Pam was nice enough to throw in a tiramisu and limoncello for the grievance, but the damage was done. I would not recommend Anthony's and will never go back. read more

Excellent food and service - we had the special appetizer- filet tips with lump crab meat, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes in a sauce that was to die for. Mussels with white. Seafood fra diavlo- shrimp, scallops, lobster, mussels, and clams over angel hair, Veal Oscar- and tiramisu for dessert. It was all so glorious. My family and I have only been here after funeral services, but it has always been a positive experience. Last month, after a sad morning funeral and burial, we found the staff very professional and low-key as our group tried to brighten up for the rest of the day. An assistant General Manager introduced himself and his staff, and we were served quickly and efficiently. And we were all pleased with the food, often the food at such events is pretty basic and nondescript, but it was really quite good. All in all, we were pleased with both the food and especially the service on what was a trying day. I would reccomend this place for such events. read more

Surprised at the mixed bag of reviews. We have always had great service and great food. We have been there for dinner and luncheons. Always good. I've been here twice and the food was great both times. Based on the variety of orders from everyone I was with I'd go as far as to say the entire menu is delicious! The service is friendly and made sure everything came out correctly. The ambiance is also quite nice and comfortable. I find Anthony's to be hit or miss. I live close by so have gone there many times. I do not think the chef has any idea how to make something look appealing. Serving sandwiches with a handful of smashed potato chips is a definite no, and, my bread was stale. However, on another occasion I had a flounder special for lunch and it was excellent. I'm not one to complain or leave reviews however, I believe this one is warranted, especially for the price you're paying here. We just came from having dinner, three of us. Unfortunately, 2 of us left still hungry. The stuffed shells consisted of two small shells, barely stuffed, on a plate full of sauce! This is supposed to be enough to fill a grown man?! We visited Anthony's on a Sunday evening. The food is always good we have eaten here many times before. We both ordered the chicken parm which comes with a small side of pasta(usually penne) . we asked for spaghetti instead and was told it was a cost upgrade. We said OK (we thought what could it be $2 or $3) When the check came he charged us $6 each for 15 strands of spaghetti. This is a total ripoff. The thing is we had the same dish 3 weeks ago and was never charged the upgrade cost for the spaghetti. But $6 each when pasta comes with the meal. We will now ask the cost of the upgrade in the future, or pick another place to eat for now on .this country is going to hell fast! read more

ok i gave 1 star because the caesar salad was so good but besides the salad the rest of the experience was terrible! We made reservations a few weeks in advance and we were very excited to go out for Christmas Eve! We walked in and the host barely greeted us and was not friendly at all after we sat down we noticed that the place was not crowded at all and we decided that we would ask if we could squeeze our son in to the table considering he was home a lone for Christmas and he could be there in 5 minutes, when we asked the waitress she started FREAKIN out! She was saying SOME OF US WOULD LIKE TO BE HOME WITH OUR FAMILIES and that the kitchen was closing at 7:30! Funny thing was that if the kitchen was closing at 7:30 then how could we possibly have a reservations at 7:30 but anyway back to the waitress, she was SO LOUD! The guy next to us commented on her horrible behavior and said he was so embarrassed for her attitude! Needless to say I will not return, its really ashame because the building is really nice but as food the service that can kill a business and that was not a good holiday dinner I was glad we didnt get the 7 fish considering the kitchen closed at 730 and our reservation was 730! read more

We recently had a bereavement luncheon at Anthony's in Springfield (formerly the Lamb Tavern) and it was wonderful. The manager was beyond helpful and the staff was excellent. We had the buffet and the food was delicious. Everyone in the room complemented the staff and the food and we had 67 people. Not too easy to please! We went for Xmas eve dinner and found they had changed to a holiday menu. The prices for the available dishes were upped as expected. Each dish came with a side which was spinach with beans. There was really no options for the kids other than ravioli. All six of us at our table ordered something different and each found their plate very bland. The service was good that is why they are getting 2 stars. For the selection available and the price attached we wish we would have stayed home and cooked ourselves. We had always had special celebrations for family and friends both at Anthony's and Lamb Tavern. We hadn't been to Anthony's during covid and by that time they had moved to the Lamb Tavern site. We celebrated my husband's 75th birthday with 12 other guests. I requested a separated area and we had the banquet selection lunch. The antipasta and brucchetta were excellent. Our choices for dinner were crab cakes, gnocchi and veal gina. Once again all were excellent. Our head waitstaff Jamison (I hope that's her name) was very attentive and the young men assisting were also prompt. We will be happy to dine there again. read more

We were at Anthony's yesterday for our Thanksgiving meal. Maybe that is were we went wrong. The whole experience was overwhelming but NOT in a good way. We were a party of six seated at a round table. Two people in our group were seated in a doorway that led to another part of the building and experienced constant disturbances by customers and servers squeezing by. There should not have been a table in that spot but it's obvious they were trying to squeeze in the most amount of seatings possible. Salad was flat and wilted (probably sat in a giant bowl with dressing on top waiting to be plated). Gnocchi with a tasteless meatball. Turkey plate seemed "thrown" together and looked unappetizing. The pumpkin pie desserts were served with broken off pie crusts placed along side the slice. There was a loud motorized noise that emanated from the floor below causing the table to shake during most of our dinner. I cannot emphasize enough how unpleasant the whole experience was. We do not recommend this restaurant and will most certainly never return. read more

We've been a total of three times. Once at the Drexel Hill location, and twice at the new location. Overall nice place. The food is good. The last time we went we felt rushed .... It was a Thursday night, not much going on but got that feeling ... hmmm. The server took forever with our check then came back and said he ran our card 4 times and it didn't go through. That was suspicious because there was more than enough money on the card. As a matter of fact we checked the card while I gave him another. He seemed overwhelmed. We waited a half an hour to be seated after we made reservations. We didn't get our food until two hours after our reservation time. When the manager came over to check on us, instead of apologizing for the food coming out so late, he told me that that there is no way we waited two hours to eat. (Not sure why I would make something like that up but whatever.) All he had to do was say that he was sorry. Why did he come over to check on us if he wasn't trying to improve our experience? I was dumb founded that we were the only people who wore a mask in the entire establishment during a pandemic . Not a single waiter or hostess was masked I ordered the stuffed shrimp, it was stuffed with a crab mush that had very little actual crab and in it.
