We attended at funeral collation at Anthony's. The staff were excellent. Attentive to needs and very friendly. It was a late morning funeral and we arrived just about lunch time. A selection of coffee and tea with pastry was available for us early arrivals. Several round tables were set up between the buffet and the bar. The buffet luncheon included fresh fruit salad, iceberg salad with a vinegarette dressing on the side, stuffed shells, steak tips in gravy, a chicken dish, rolls and butter. Very nice plates and flat ware. Food was very good. The event room included a full bar and the host family provided an open bar for their guests. Desserts were placed near the coffee urns and included cookies, brownies, cannolli and other sweet treats. There was quite the selection. Some guests are wheelchair users and this space had a wheelchair ramp into the event room. Ladies and men's restrooms are right off the dining area. Both had handicapped stalls. Ladies had a diaper station. Based on food quality and offerings and staff, I find Anthony's to be an excellent event space. read more

This is my fourth time being at this place four times in one year and each time it gets worse and worse. Not only were the stuffed shelves, extremely overcooked, and the vegetables were extremely bland. At least the fish and the salad was really good.. The main problem is the service. The waitresses are extremely rude and condescending. Their behavior was beyond unprofessional and offensive. The atmosphere is the only thing that this place has going for it. It could use some updates but other than that, it's just OK, but the staff is what makes it not a place I would recommend. read more

My housemates and staff went to a Halloween party recently run by Revere League, Anthony's was disorganized, the moment everyone sat down, we all got our salad first before the meal, but it was the Revere League Staff serving everyone their salads, not Anthony's servers, while everyone was still eating their salad, over the speaker they started calling tables to come up by number, which caused chaos because they called up three tables at once, there was a long line waiting to be served food, when I stepped away for a minute, I came back the server didn't ask if I was finish, the server just took my silverware, plate, the food I had was very bland, with hardly any seasoning. read more

Wow! I had one of the best nights of my life at Anthonys Restaurant. My cousin had a wedding and there was about 250 Guest who was there. Every single one of them said that Anthony's venue was top-notch and had excellent customer service. Also, being an Italian, I have had many different opportunities top have Chicken Marsala but I can say with confidence that Anthonys has the BEST Chicken Marsala, I have ever had. I am still thinking about it months Later. The Venue was classy, the Bartender (Also, named Anthony) was very professional and courteous and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend Anthonys for any catering event as well as a great venue to host an event! read more

Yummy and delicious. Every week we head to Anthony's for our Kiwanis lunch/dinner. The waitstaff is very good. The food is good as well. They hold the space for us and they are accommodating. Honestly although this place isn't glamorous, I've dreamed of having my wedding held here. This is only because, fact is that about 96% of every family function; death, christening, wedding, showers, etc is held.. at Anthonys. They have the upstairs function area which is nice but the sound may carry since it's not exactly closed in but they have a big stage and bar up there. The rooms they have can be gigantic or small depending on what you have and how you book it. I personally like it here a lot, parking lot is big and I've seen them do out door shindigs as well although I've never personally attended them I've seen tents set up and such. read more

You know you're from Malden if you can think of at least 1 award you won at a function held at Anthony's. All of my great athletic awards were awarded at Anthony's. The fact my athletic abilities peaked at the age of 11 is beside the point. This is a decent option if you've got a big crowd. The staff really handles any group pretty well. What a poor excuse for an establishment! Anthony's idea of service is to put 40 mourning people into a closet sized room, supply them with cold, mediocre food and provide poor service. If you want to feel worse than you do prior to attending your loved ones funeral...have the after service luncheon at Anthony's...they won't let you down! My family can testify! My father's Bereavement luncheon was held here recently. We were given a generous buffet of three hot items that included a large mixed salad, an assorted fruit tray, rolls, danish with plenty of condiments, cold beverages and coffee and tea. The room was set on the ground floor to accommodate our handicap access. The table, linens, dishes and utensils were immaculate. And our waitress was very friendly and professional; she handled our every need in our time of sorrow. My future daughter-in-law was very impressed and is considering Anthony's as a wedding venue. read more

I would recommend this place to anyone throwing a celebration because it is wonderful. I threw my husband a surprise birthday party and Meghan was my contact person. She was absolutely wonderful and so were the bartender and waitress. We had about 50 people show up and everyone complimented the food and service. We decide to have lunch at Anthony's of Malden,Ma for friends and family that attended my Dad's Funeral on 7/21/14. Firstly, we walked into the wrong side of the facility. There wasn't anyone there to receive us or signage to guide us to the correct party of the facility. We had guests that are 80 years old and over, and more than one that have canes and major illnesses having to trek over to the other side. Why did we choose Anthony's? There were three of us who attended events at Anthony's in prior years. We really trusted that the place and food would still have the same great service and that the food would be great. We ordered Chicken Noelle. The cutlets were drenched with flour, but the flour was not cooked/browned. Then a gravy sauce was poured over the chicken. I had to scrape the uncooked flour off the cutlets that were fry pieces of chicken. We ordered steak tips with onion. Although, I don't prefer steak tips that are medium rare, I know that's how should be cooked. I felt like I was eating Alpo dog food that was too salty. The staff serving the food was very efficient and made sure there was plenty to eat. I noticed that where I sat, the table linen hadn't been changed. It still had a spill from the last person who sat there. We really were excited that Anthony's was so conveniently close. And from past history, we expected the best. To Malden G Really Malden G you never know when its open, you went there 4 times with your guests and the doors were locked with no note... Its a function hall not a Bar or Restaurant. Did you have a function? or an appointment? Its a function hall, that has a lounge for customers that are attending whatever parties that are going on that day or night. The lounge is also open during the days for people who are coming in to seek more knowledge about renting a room. In which the lounge is open during that time for drinks and small Bbq lunches. So if its past 4pm and there is no function going on that night then the place is closed which is generally how a function hall works. read more

Have been here for the function facilities for several funerals. I have never been here for a regular meal. However, I haven't had good experiences when I've been here. The food is average Italian - nothing special. The customer service, on the other hand, has been poor every time. After my grandfather passed away, we came here after the funeral. My parents and the other siblings were in the limos and had not arrived yet. Myself and the other older cousins had driven the younger grandchildren, and so we got there first. After having been up for several hours and burying my grandfather, some of us wanted to get some water. However, we were rudely told that we couldn't touch anything until the family got there. When I explained that we were the family, we were still told to wait. The facility is very dated, and the bar is located in another room. Was definitely not impressed. read more

My family and myself will never have an event here again. We came here for a luncheon after my moms funeral. While making the arrangements, we told them the possibility of more than 40 attending. The planner put down 20 - 40 assuring us if more attended, not a problem. When we arrived the entire place was booked with different events. They put us in the bridal room, much to my surprise, it was a tiny room!! There was not enough room for the guests. There were not enough tables and chairs. You could not even get up to the buffet without bumping into people. People had to eat outside in the back hallway, outside of the restrooms. I can't even begin to tell you the disappointment. I feel that they were booked and still took our money and stuck us in a back room upstairs. Had we been told, that they were booked we would have gone else where. And to top it off, the food was not good. The service was not good. The waitress could not make her way through the crowd and dishes piled up on the tables. The place is also dirty!! Went to an event this weekend. Lots of children attended. Bathroom for upstairs event had the hot water shut off. cold water was running though nothing came out of hot water spigot. Asked the owner what was wrong. He was very put off and they can use the cold water . I mentioned it was a health concern that all these children were using the restrooms and not washing their hands due to the cold water. His response was to walk away. Very irresponsible. read more

Something told me as soon as I entered the entrance door and was greeted with "hanging around" scattered Christmas decorations in the lobby of this establishment for a family and friends gathering luncheon event to honor my aunt after her funeral this could be an indication of what was yet to come. Not only was there no one in sight to meet and greet and give directions to the guest...like the other names posted on the wall, they failed to post the family name and location of the event we were all attending. To our surprise after going through a maze of other rooms and doors we were finally escorted by a staff member to a "cubicle" that could hardly accommodate no more than a dozen people comfortably let alone over fifty guests...We were all squeezed in like an accordion and had to take "shifts" while we were shifting our eyes back and forth waiting for a cue for someone to signal taking turns to sit at a table as if we were playing musical chairs to a plate of "mediocre" cuisine...Some ate by the restroom again taking turns to a single chair in the hallway by the entrance of the "Bride's Room" (more appropriately, "the cubicle")...some ate standing up...The servers were sloppy and seemed rushed and a bit disorganized as they bumped and weaved their way to replenish the warming buffet trays...at one point potatoes were flying while haphazardly transferring from a serving tray into the warming buffet tray and the server used her hands to pick up what flung onto the buffet table...I witness this with disbelief. The children of my aunt who hosted and paid for this somber event were shammed into thinking they would be taken care of and reassured if more than 40 people were to arrive the accommodations would handle the event comfortably. Hindsight I am sure if they knew this would occur they would have gone elsewhere. Anthony's has made this a business rather than an enjoyable family restaurant...Sadly they have lost their reputation and have lost a loyal customer. This should not be unnoticed nor ignored...It is uncomfortable to mention compensation...but I hope my family demands and receives a near to full refund. Unacceptable and inexcusable on so many levels. Anthony's Restaurant I hope you will clear your conscience and do the right thing!...If I could give this a no star...I would give it a negative no star...From a loving relative. read more

Attended a luncheon after my aunt's funeral .Can think of so many words to describe this luncheon but I will state the obvious. They don't want to give up making money . Greedy comes to mind. When the family of deceased booked this venue, they were told they could accommodate them. They placed our function in the bridal suite,a room that could probably hold two tables and that is an understatement.Over forty people where crammed into this small room.The food was placed along the wall and the guests were unable to maneuver their way to the food. Guests were standing in a hallway in front of restrooms.My question to this restaurant is wouldn't it be easier and kinder to say" I'm sorry we are booked and can not accommodate you" instead of getting an unfavorable review. Food was terrible...service was awful..no signs or any greeter ...people were confused where to go... dirty room...xmas decorations piled up in a heap at entrance...and more importantly I feel you took advantage of a family's grief ... I hope they were not charged for that fiasco of a luncheon and if they were, you should refund their money... run don't walk away from this restaurant !!! read more

My mother's silver wedding was held here and to say the least this place will ill trained and ill equip to hold multiple parties in one night. In the contract, they are supposed to have a bartender present for your party. Our's was one of the hostesses giving out food and cleaning plates. Our guests had to wait long periods for someone to come back to the bar and serve drinks. Champagne is also part of the contract, and one of tables was not served and when this was brought to their attention, they still failed to serve it. A breaker blew when the DJ was playing. NO ONE from the location came to assist in fixing the issue. They also failed to set up the tables with napkins and table clothes even though, once again this is part of the contract. And to top it all off, they misplaced decorations and table cards. They blamed it on being "short staffed". Completely inexcusable, incompitent, untrained staff and location. I held my wedding at Anthony's of Malden. It is a beautiful site that any bride who's been dreaming of her wedding since she was a little girl would just adore. I'm a foodie; my favorite restaurant is Olive's in Charlestown and I often eat in the North End. The food at Anthony's is delicious, authentic Italian and the American food is just as fantastic. Everything is fresh, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Everyone always raves about the food, unless, of course, they're accustomed to eating subs and fast food. We lost power due to lightning and the staff sprang into action and made sure everyone was well. The staff were the height of kindness and professionalism. Nobody left and my wedding was more memorable than I could ever have dreamed. Albert and Craig Spadafora are angels, and Olga and Mary deserve medals having to deal w/all my drunken friends. All the liquor was top shelf; Pattron tequiIla kept everyone happy. I will never have a function anywhere else but at Anthony's of Malden. read more
