First time ordered a couple of months ago take out since we're new to the area decided to give it a try. Cheese pizza lukewarm and pretty skimpy on the sauce. Ravioli was tasty but skimped on that sauce too. Anthonys is a bit pricey, maybe they took a hit during pandemic. Man on phone taking orders was a bit unpleasant but could've been busy so I didn't take it personally. 2nd time ordering take out tonight. Pizza very salty this time again not much sauce. Anthony's is a nice, local pizza place in Vernon. The staff here is nice, and they have a good selection of menu items. I really like their breadsticks with alfredo sauce for an appetizer. Their alfredo sauce is different than other places, it's a little thinner, but it has a really good taste. Their potato pizza is amazing! One thing though, is they do put sauce IN the calzone, as well as a side sauce too. You just have to request not to put it in, and they will gladly do that. read more

Recently ordered takeout from here. Got steak and cheese grinder and chicken grinder. They were pretty good but nothing memorable. We liked the giant size and prices are decent. The inside is bit dated but staff were friendly. The menu is your typical pizza and comfort Italian food. Not sure about their pizza but will try them next time. read more

Awful customer service, coming from someone who is not hard to please!! They are annoyed to take your order over the phone, and bothered if you ask for your grinder the way you like it. Wow. Anthony's grinders are off the charts. The first time i went there in a while (theyre close) just never think of them. I brought my kids one is autistic and doesnt eat out well. The staff there was great with her. Quick, friendly. Food was out quick and great. My son likes calzones. My daughter stays to basic spaghetti and meat sauce. Portions on both were big and more than enough for me to share without ordering something for me. The second time I order take out. We get a calzone and a ham grinder for me. The ham is thinly sliced. Vegggies perfectly proportioned. No skimping on anything. My son loves his calzone. I love my grinder. My husband (a picky eater) tasted my grinder. He regretted not ordering when I offered. Next week he gets a grinder I finish it. Still same quality. Today we ordered 2 grinders. Both to our own tastes. Both are excellent. Went 15 min later to pick it up and it still wasn't ready ended up waiting 35 min for one grinder there was no one in the entire restaurant and they didn't appear to have any other take out orders. 35 min for one grinder is absolutely unacceptable. My quest for a decent Greek salad and Manchester, CT is still ongoing as the product at Anthony's was very disappointing. Heard good things about their grinders and used to go there as a kid and loved it so decided to give it a try with take out. Go in to pick up and the man behind the counter was pretty rude and seemed to busy but there was not many people in the place. That's ok people have bad days. Then I paid $16 and change for a large roast beef grinder. It's a lot but figured I would see if they are worth it. When I opened it it was two half grinder rolls put together to make a large. One roll was fresh and the other a day or so old. The roast beef was generic low grade beef. The kind where the outside was browned and the inside the same color all the way through. I ate most of the fresh half and it was tasteless, threw the other day old half away. Definitely won't be back. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to stop here on a whim as it was close to our hotel driving back from Maine. We were greeted and seated promptly and our server came over quickly to get our drink orders. We ordered sodas and the fried ravioli as an appetizer. Our server made some suggestions for our entrees. My boyfriend ordered a roast beef grinder and I ordered the alfresco pizza. The fried ravioli were wonderful. Crispy on the outside with warm cheese in the middle. They were not greasy at all. The marinara dipping sauce was homemade and you could definitely tell because it was delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed his grinder very much - he said the toppings were fresh and there was way too much food for him to eat in one sitting, even though he only ordered the "half" sandwich (still probably around 10 inches!) My pizza was absolutely amazing. The crust was thin and crispy with an olive oil and garlic base instead of traditional pizza sauce. The mozzarella and tomatoes on top were fresh and tasty. I am very sad that this little stop is so far from our home in Virginia. It will definitely become an annual place to eat as we drive back from our summer home. read more

Literally the worst Italian Place I have even been in...Went in for lunch yesterday and I ordered a salad with a Spinach pie and my husband ordered soup and salad and pasta....Half hour later I asked the waitress where the soup was or even bread if they had any...They served us cold,cold, rolls,,,and then soup and salad after half hour...The pasta sauce tasted like it was bought and not made...Horrible...Not to mention the spinach pie fillo dough was burnt...could not eat it.....Never again.....Go to Vernon Pizza....absolutely everything there I have had is GREAT..... read more
