I explained that I had recently purchased the truck and the salesperson told me if I could find the receipt or provide the previous owner's phone number the battery would be replaced at no charge. Excited at the prospect of saving a couple of hundred dollars, I returned home and spent 20 minutes or so searching for the receipt and taking pics of the original owner's phone number. I couldn't find the receipt but, armed with a phone number and email from the previous owner I returned to the store. A different sales person then informed me that the warranty wasn't transferrable and I was out of luck. The original sales person was still working the counter and I asked why that person said I could provide a receipt or phone number to get a free replacement. "I don't know, warranties aren't transferable". I honestly expected to pay for a new battery anyway, but the mixed messages cost me a bit of time and frustration- I have other things I need to do. I would have just bought a battery in the first place had I known... piss poor experience and piss poor customer service.

We have taken our RAV4 in for service twice in the past year. The first time we waited until late…read moreafternoon to receive an update on the service status. We finally had to call only to discover that nothing had been done to the vehicle. The paper work had gotten lost and that work could not begin until the following day. We had to go retrieve the vehicle after hours and scheduled the service with a different vendor on a later date. A complete fumble by Auburn Toyota and waste of time for us. That was the better outcome compared to the second service experience. The RAV4 has a design flaw that causes the rear lift gate to stick and not open. This is well documented and there are active class action lawsuits in process. We asked the general manager of the service department to fix this and he offered to split the cost. My wife agreed to this. We took it in for the service and the issue was fixed, but the windshield had a large crack that was not there when we brought the vehicle in for service. We showed the service rep the crack immediately. The gm was gone for the day and then was unresponsive so we went in to find out how they were going to handle this damage and they claimed that it was not their fault. Never ever trust the Auburn Toyota service department respect your time or to behave honorably.

I'd heard a lot about…read moreTravis at Snail Performance and knowing he was a Cobb certified pro tuner who essentially specializes in Subaru's I knew I'd made the right choice. I made the two hour drive from the east bay to get to him and it was totally worth the drive. Travis works out of M45, a Subaru mechanic shop operated by Troy. The shop is full of Subaru's and every item you could imagine to fix and mod them. Travis was sure to help explain the process of the tune and asked me what my goals were. After explaining to him I wanted a nice linear power band with good power, he went to work. I got to sit in on the tune and see him work his magic. The car came out with 296/335 on 91 ACN. What's really impressive was the average power over a stock car. Average came out to 240/273 about 50-60 more HP/TQ average over stock. If you are looking to get your Subaru tuned you have to make the trip to see him. Great work.
