We were referred to Anthony's, who answered the first phone call with a live person. From there, everyone we interacted with was pleasant, informative and empathetic. They promptly showed up at the time we'd scheduled and expertly treated our bee situation. Service was above and beyond, as they not only safely removed the bees from our property, they took the time to carefully preserve the area they had infested without having to damage it and left the space cleaner than when they showed up. In particular they were very patient and ensured the safety of our young children who were curious about the the bees and concerned for the safety a bird's nest that was also near the hive. We were fortunate to have Anthony's Bee Removal Co. take on our wasp infestation. On the initial visit they identified over 25 wasp nests under the eaves, in the roof gable vents and on the side of the chimney. This was a huge project requiring 40 foot extension ladders, a boom lift and work on a very high, very steep roof. All of the nests were treated and removed. We had wasps that were entering the inside of our home! Their crew treated and gassed the points of entry that could be identified and then sealed them. Mike was very responsive and obviously understood the seriousness of our situation and arranged scheduling quickly. Kevin and Teddy were the technicians who did the work. I used Anthony's Bee Removal services. Bees are removed, and it doesn't look they are coming back. So the job is done. Though I have two comments to add a) the price on their website $175 is not correct. I paid $400. I originally thought the bees are in a wall, so I was quoted $395 because they might have a hard time to remove the bees, and they would have to seal all openings, which sounded reasonable. As we eventually found out, the bees were in an old couch next to the wall, so it was a quick job, about 40 minutes, just to break a couch, remove bees and spray it with some stink so they don't want to come back to their broken hive. Nothing to seal. I still paid $395, as the guy said "as quoted". I later broke down the couch and tossed it. b) before I ordered the service, I read about bee removal and taking them away and similar, so I thought that's what they do. I did ask about it and it looked like they dodge my question. After I asked few times, the guy eventually told me that he just destroys the hive, the queen flies away with some other bees to find a new hive and the rest dies from stress. I called Anthony's after a large swarm of bees entered our yard and quickly made a large cone shaped "hive." I was prepared to pay whatever it would cost to remove them for safety reasons. I left a message and I receive a call back within 10 minutes. The gentleman asked me a few questions about when the bees arrived, where they were located and size and shape of the swarm; he explained it takes months to build a hive. He said he could come out immediately and remove them, but most likely the bees will not stay for more then 24-48 hrs, so if they were not a threat to just leave them. Truly excellent, professional and expert service. We have had a problem with bees for the past few years. Other bee removal companies didn't address the root of our problem; one person made it decidedly worse. I was given a quote of $395 to remove the bees from the waterfall on the pool. A week later bees were still swarming all over the waterfall. When I called the person on the phone was unbelievably rude and condescending. After a string of excuses and pretty much blaming me for the size and location of the hive he said the technician would call me. The technician was very nice and came out again. Saw one of the Vans in PB and remembered I have I huge Hive on the side of my house . Called asking for a quote and was rudely met with questions about the location so which I told him it was outside on the side of my patio . I told him it was a Huge Hive. First it's Sunday. Saturday no bees, today a hive. I really expect to get an answer machine calling on a Sunday. Nope; Mike answered the phone himself, asked me some questions and told me he would be there in about 1 hour. True to his word, he was on time, took the bees away in about 10 minutes and the whole job took no time at all. Price was very good also. He has a great personality and enjoys what he does and interacting with people. Great sense of humor also. Called them to come remove bees from my irrigation box. Tech comes out, does that work. Removes bees, removes honeycomb, etc. I noticed the next day that the bees are still there. I call and Mike tells me that they are just trying to get back in and they will leave in the next day or two. That afternoon I go for a closer look and it appears that the actual hive is 6 inches from the irrigation box and is under my house in a vent. I call back and ask him why the tech was not able to spot this and bring it to my attention and he gets very upset, tells me this is a new problem and then goes on a tear yelling at me about what a "great deal" he gave me before he hung up the phone. I am pretty sure the 5* reviews are either given minutes after service or by people who do not have the slightest bit of accent, yes, accent. From my first call I was aware Anthony did not like people, but after $500 and the bees not gone anywhere a month later, he literally laughed at me on the phone and started being so condescending I had to hang up. How can anyone have such little pride and ownership in their work? This kind of people is the reason I will never hire contractors. I'd rather live with bees than deal with their like. So, we found bees around our roof. Neighbors were concerned so we called a few places. Other places didn't ask questions and immediately said it would cost such and such amount and were quick to get me off the phone. Charged me $500 for about 15 minutes of work. That is around $2000 per hour. He did not kill the bees which is good, and the bees left. But they came back 10 days later. I called him back and he wanted to charge me another $500, even though he told me on the phone before I booked the first visit that he would re-treat if the bees came back in a short period. I think 10 days is pretty short. When I complained, he hung up on me. Wish I could give a lower rating than 1 star. Overpriced, terrible customer service, and misleading promises. Oh, nuts. Bees in the house on a Saturday morning. Bees swarming near the roof eaves. Anthony's sent a technician within 2 hours, an hour before schedule. The technician did a thorough inspection of the outside of the house and explained that the bees had likely "moved-on" after first checking the house for a suitable hive. He gave me the option of paying only a nominal service charge or for the treatment. In order to assure the bees don't return, I opted for the treatment. He sprayed some dust pesticide around the opening in the eave where they had been entering and then closed the opening with household insulation - which will work until we find a permanent solution. read more

Excellent service! We called Anthony's Bee Removal on a Sunday morning and they came in one hour. Not only were they incredibly timely they were also very efficient. They arrived right on time at 7:30am and assessed the swarm moving around my front garden wall and let me know right away the hive appeared larger than they thought. That meant it cost more than the estimate, but since I could see the size of the hole they had to make to dig out the entire hive, I totally understood that! I found a huge pile of bees on the ground under my pomegranate tree, right where my dogs always go. I called several bee removal services, on Labor Day weekend, and no one could say whether or not they could get someone out that day. Anthony's had a technician out within 1/2 hour, he was professional, efficient, fast and really nice. A swarm of bees settled in one of the vents to my roof and I realized that I had to take action quickly before they formed a hive. Anthony's Bee Removal to the rescue. These guys are awesome. I've been having a problem with a hive that is NOT on our property that we manage. The neighboring management company swore they took care of the problem. When I went over yesterday the amount of bees had doubled so I called Anthony's after remembering their truck in La Mesa. Mike was out within the hour and took care of most of the problem, but also gave me information to pass on to the neighboring company.
