I have not been to Anthony's since this summer - and after going there tonight I remember why I stopped going. The Beach Café was at one time a favorite of mine and we would go every two weeks. My favorite meal was The Hawaiian Cobb - over time the salad has gone from something that I consider a meal to nothing more then salad greens. I took a picture of my salad and could not believe the difference, instead of a mound of shrimp there was literally about 10 small shrimp... Considering the salad is $15.95 it is no longer a substantial meal and really quite a rip off- The wait staff is always good and I realize it is not their fault that the portions have reduced considerably..... Very disappointed. After waiting for a table we were served barely average food. It was borderline fast food-ish with a high price. Not worth $13.99 for 3 small pieces of fish and hardly enough fries to call it a meal. The fish was oozing grease and the fries were tiny & flavorless. My family and I went to have dinner at Anthonys Beach Cafe on monday around 5-6. It wasn't my first time there, so I knew what to expect but this last time was dussapointing. My dad and younger brother got there before us and the waitress didn't even ask them if they wanted anything to drink. The seats and table cloth were sticky and they didn't feel clean. We didn't get any bread until after we ordered our food and it seemed like we waited forever for refills and tater sauce. The croutons in my salad came out of a bag, the cod in my fish and chips was mushy and tasteless, the tiny bite of salmon had the strong off-flavor and texture of farmed fish, and worst of all, the fries were right of a freezer bag...just like McDonald's. I've had better school lunches. Are fresh potatoes no longer available in the Northwest? Send your chefs up the hill to Dick's Drive-In to learn how to make good French fries. You take a fresh Idaho potato, cut it in strips, rinse it in cold water, and fry it twice in hot fat. Salt and serve. It's really not that difficult. Spud's can do it...why can't you? read more

Went there with my daughter and son-in-law and 2 children -- the sandbox just off the dining terrace is a great attraction/distraction for kids. It was hard to keep them focused on food, although the 4-year-old really liked the garlic bread. I saw another mother prowling the sandbox with a fork lade with a bite of something hoping to get it in a young mouth. I had wonderful shrimp tempura with a nice salad and the kids got grilled cheese sandwiches that looked terrific --although they asked to have much of the cheese removed--those came from a nice children's menu. We were there on a Sunday noon and the high entree prices were in the low $20 ranges and there were lots of good choices at $17 to $19. Desserts looked tempting, although we did not get to those. We particularly enjoyed it because it was a nice sunny day in Seattle, and the terrace at Anthony's is perfect for those -- but there is also a large interior space. Stopped in around 1pm today for lunch, I ordered the beach burger and I have to say it was literally the worst hamburger I have ever had, the bun was brushed with a gallon of lard or butter, the burger was thin and tasteless the meal came out on a wicker plate that didn't seem sanitary, the cloth napkins were old and well washed, fabric was all piled up and worn, I've had great burgers at all other Anthony's restaurants, the wood fired grills being the best. read more

Not a fan. This being my first time in Washington i was exited to see what great fresh seafood they had to offer and this was not the place. I believe it was the fisherman's basket, it all tasted like it was straight out of the microwave and the calamari was so undercooked it still felt slimmy. Not $18 worth for sure. Went there for breakfast and had the eggs benedict. Hollandaise was far too tangy/sour. The potatoes were very 'meh.' My wife had one of the scrambles which she said was very good, and plentiful. It was my first indoor dining experience since March and was terrible! I & two other friends decided to dine outside but the greeter said there was 35-40 mins wait so I said we'll try indoor with hesitation. First of all the greeter wasn't much of a greeter, no pleasantry about her and I told her three but still she took me to two persons table and then when she realized we had 3, took us to next table which was a odd shape at the corner. When we got seated, I noticed there was a table right outside of the window. Since there is no reservation policy, I knew she didn't want to give us that table so I decided to forget about it. After a meal my friend wanted to charge the whole amount to her card and two of us give her cash. When I realized I only had $100 bill my dad gave me before he passed away on 8/18th, I went to the counter to break the bill. I understand they need to make sure it's not counterfeit but they didn't have the marker so she asked me to wait till she gets it from upstairs so I said forget it, I'll just write a check to my friend. Unfortunately when I think of macaroni and cheese I think creamy, this was definitely on the watery and not creamy side. Anthony's beach cafe is the best restaurant ever! The managers, Barbara and Dawn, are amazing.Their food is so good and it is our favorite place to eat. The chef's work very hard to please their customers. Everyday we want to eat there for breakfast, dinner and lunch! One day we ate there and I was disappointed to see that my favorite food had been removed from the menu. The manager quickly picked up on my disappointment and soon my favorite dish was prepared. When she finally came to check on us it was so fast we didn't get a chance to ask for more water. We did not see her again until we were done with our meals, she immediately went to give us our check never asked if we wanted desert, we had to tell her. We only had water because the soft drinks are over priced, the burnt creme desert was cold and tasted stale, hot fudge on the sundae did not taste fresh. One of the few water front dining establishments in Edmonds, right on the marina. Great place for cocktails, and a sandbox for the kiddos, dogs ok on the patio. I love the flowers, the ambiance, and the food is good too, something for everyone. I love the fish tacos and the coconut shrimp bowl. The warm bread basket is to die for. Hub and I had a lovely light lunch at Anthony's Beach Cafe after a whale watch in early August. We were on the whale watch for about four and a half hours having just a snack on the boat, so when we disembarked we were in the market for a meal in Edmonds before heading back to Seattle. Anthony's was convenient and we were seated without a wait when we entered the restaurant mid-afternoon. Hub ordered the chicken taco/clam chowder combo and expressed his satisfaction with both. I ordered the Hawaiian Cobb Salad. The menu description of this salad was: "mango, bacon, avocado, tomato, wontons and bay shrimp on seasonal market greens tossed with fresh basil vinaigrette and crumbled blue cheese." It was exceptionally flavorful and fresh. I would order this delicious salad if I ever again visited Anthony's Beach Cafe. Also of note, the iced tea tasted fresh-brewed and was very good. Of all the choices I had I picked this place. My husband and I are celebrating our 30 year anniversary. I just wanted someplace casual near the water on a sunny July day. It was crowed as we expected so we strolled along the water front while waiting for our table. Once seated our waitress came to take a drink order. She looked past us as she asked what we'd like, never introduced herself. It was clear to both of us she was not having a good day. She had forgotten one of our meal items, we had to remind her. She never once filled our empty water glasses or stopped to see if everything was satisfactory or if we needed anything. As she walked through the dinning room it was clear by her sighs and body language that she did not want to be there. I wished I had chosen another place to eat that day. Sadly I like this place but this visit left me asking if I'd even give it another try. We were referred to this location by some locals. We sat outside, because there is a large sand pit for our 3 kids to enjoy. The food was very fresh. I had the Bay Shrimp Mac and Cheese and my wife had another pasta dish that was really good. This might be a 5-Star, but the beer selection was not very good at all.
