I stumbled upon this place on Google so had to give it a try! Super friendly staff and cute cafe area with games and good vibes. I got a sausage egg and cheese bagel with jalapeño cream cheese which was delicious but sadly one half of my bagel was so hard I couldn't eat it. The coffee I tried was similar to an iced shaken espresso with oat milk and it was so delicious! Besides the bagel I would definitely be visiting again soon! read more

Always come here when visiting from california, it's super cute and local (staff is always super sweet). The pastries are okay, I feel they could be a lot better. One of the muffins we got was just straight up awful tasting. Maybe we are spoiled in California, but even having some fresh croissants, chocolate croissants, etc. The coffee is good, not great! Their latte flavor selection is hugeee which is nice. Overall, always a must to stop by here when visiting for coffee! Love how local it is and how big their menu is. read more

I LOVE anthem!!! The service is always wonderful, the vibe is always great in the cafe, and my drinks are always made perfectly! What a disappointing transition from a community based coffee shop that everyone loved to a greedy business. Price gouging a community with prices that exceed Starbucks and not offering anything in return. The espresso is mediocre at best. The food selection doesn't provide anything for dietary restrictions. Can NOT wait for more options to be available and to have a community based coffee shop again. I also love that they have a great tea selection which was something that was lacking before. The staff here is super sweet and the place is always super clean. But try as I might, I can't enjoy any drink here. I've tried really hard and have had almost all the drinks. Okay, so I lied. First I'd like to start with how badly I want this place to be great! I love to see others succeed, but with that being said some changes will need to happen. I've been here 3 times now and purposely waited to write this to see if the transition got better, and the issues I experienced were just growing pains; this does not seem to be the case. Coffee/Drinks: We have had a spicy mocha, vanilla latte, protein smoothie, and an ice tea. - All drinks were good, I'd say a solid 7 out of 10. Pastry's: We had a cheese danish. The danish seemed a couple of days old, it was dry and not too memorable in a good way, although the flavor was great and would most likely be amazing if fresh. 3 out of 10. Breakfast: We had spicy oil avocado toast. This was fantastic, and hit the spot. PERFECT! 10 out of 10 Pricing: The pricing is slightly higher here than the big chains, but that's common for small businesses with expenses being higher due to not having bulk purchasing. With that being said though, you'd better deliver and be firing in all cylinders to make us customers not care, and that's not happened yet. 6 out of 10. Customer Service: All 3 occasions the staff was always friendly and inviting. 8 out of 10. Convenience: The coffee game is not new and has been perfected for quite a while, but it feels like a new concept here. All 3 trips were much longer waits than any of their competition, but I'll give you a detailed run down of my most recent trip (today) for an example. My wife works in downtown Phoenix and must leave by 6:15 to get to work by 7:30 due to the commute and traffic. We left the house at 5:55AM so we could be here when they open and be out with plenty of time to start the drive. We were in the drive thru exactly at 6:00AM and was asked for our order at 6:02AM (so far so good), we ordered 2 spicy mochas, hot chili oil avocado toast and a cheese danish. This seems like a fairly simple order and we thought would move along quickly. Fast forward to 6:17AM the gentleman working the drive thru opens the window and says here's your toast and danish, I'll get started on those mochas. What?!?! It's been 15 minutes, with 2 people inside working and all they've accomplished is running 2 pieces of bread through the toaster and smearing some chili oil doused avocado on it. We finally received our mochas at 6:21AM. 19 minutes is far too long to turn a customer for coffee and toast, especially in the morning when people need to get to work. Summary: I truly hope that this constructive criticism is met with an opened mind from the owners/management. The potential here is exponential, but some productivity and efficiency is in dire need, as well as some daily quality control for the pastry's. I'm rooting for your success and hope you do succeed. Your location is perfect for all of us in the eastern Verrado area and much needed for us coffee lovers. I personally prefer supporting small businesses first over big chains, you're what this country was built on and is sustained on, and very important for community growth. read more

What rubs me the wrong way about this place is that they don't display the pricing for each item on their menu. You have to ask "how much is this?" and that and this. It's truly annoying. It's a bit overpriced but decent food and coffee. However, the stench of getting ripped off and made to jump through hoops to figure out how much you're willing to spend on a meal is terribly off putting to me and my friends. The new location on Jackrabbit and Indian School has perfectly located their outdoor seating for optimum social gatherings away from the hot AZ sunshine! Our bicycle groups just LOVE it. I stopped here to "fuel" to get home on my bike ride. I eat a bagel maybe once a year. The setup is cute and comfortable. It took quite a while to get my bagel as they gave mine to another person who probably found out she received something other than what she ordered. Needless to say, I have never bitten into a tougher bagel in my life! I tried the bottom half and it was even tougher. Either they are stale going into the toaster or something else. If I lived here, it would be dangerous. This place is adorably cute - less hipster, more comfortable Starbucks vibe. They have coffees on tap!, tea, smoothies, bowls, and pastries. Reasonably priced (if you're thinking like Starbucks). We got 2 large iced teas, 2 bowls, and a vegan cinnamon roll for $30. The bowls did not disappoint. They were fresh, refreshing, and had a lot in them! The teas were large in size and served in cute mason jars. I'm not vegan, but the vegan cinnamon roll was really flavorful and good in size. I was just visiting for the week, but will be returning before I leave. Service was quick, attentive, and very polite. Love places like this! read more

Local coffee shop done right. You have to try the it takes 2 to mango. It's one of the best ways to start the day off right. The fruit was super fresh. The chocolate chip pudding cookie was unique and gone before we even got home. Really good chocolate. The cinnamon roll was just okay. Definitely not the worst I've had from a bakery case. So many coffee choices, but the seasonal chai that I got was like Christmas in a cup. read more

It's so sad that the new owners have taken the small town charm that was once this coffee shop and turned it into a basic cold run of the mill place. The community board that used to be on the wall is gone. I loved finding out about new things for myself or my family to be involved in. The medium roast isn't being served anymore. It was my favorite and something I looked forward to every morning. The couch and all of the pillows on the bench aren't there either. Overall the warmth and personality isn't there anymore. There are less smoothie bowl options and the pastry case in the morning looks sad. It's obvious the new owner doesn't understand our community and what this place meant to us. We discovered this adorable coffee house when we went out to visit Verrado. It's right in the middle of the main street where other local businesses call home as well as tiny side streets with cute fountains everywhere. It's truly darling and the food and coffee are quality! It's a busy busy spot, but worth the hang and wait, if there is one! We met up with quite a few girls and actually found a table that fit 8 of us. The staff are so kind and the jalapeno cream cheese bagels are unreal. They make all their cream cheeses in house. Their bakery sells out quickly so go early if you want something special but we also appreciate the gluten-free options too. On Sunday, we enjoyed a stroll at their farmers market which is walking distance from the shop. One thing we actually really love about this shop is that it was born from two besties who loved coffee and wanted to bring something special to their community! I had the mango-orange smoothie with tumeric in it and it was delish! I like the combination and would most likely steal it for my own smoothie! I also ordered the lavander honey ice latte and it was pretty good! Love the texture and the hint of lavender on my latter. The customer service is great, not a frown considering how many times I had to bug them for water. Additionally, as expected from a cafe in Verrado, this place is thoughtfully decorated.
