    Iced Dirty Chai

I saw on the city's Facebook page that a new coffee shop had opened in the old firehouse, and had to stop by! It's exciting to see local business open with a fresh and welcoming aesthetic, and this is just that. I walked into the space, and although small, it was modern, cozy, and Monique (one of the owners) was extremely friendly. I ordered a dirty chai and have no complaints! I highly recommend you stop by and give them a visit when you can!

Brand new coffee cafe in El Mirage! It's called The Grind Cafe and it's part of The Station, which will feature a few different business and spaces to be rented out. This used to be the El Mirage fire station which is so cool! I really enjoyed my latte, but they also have breakfast items, cinnamon rolls, and more. Everyone was so nice and friendly! I highly suggest checking them out.

Hey Yelp friends,…read more This is a cute coffee spot. Light and bright. With some outlets to sit and work if you want to. Quite a few tables. Lotsa selfie worthy decor. The prices are pretty good. The flavors are yummy. Check out the cute cups and the sweet notes they wrote. Too fun! They offer iced or hot beverages. They offer a couple different locally sourced honeys and other honey based items to purchase. Variety of flavors. You can purchase a glass jar or bring your own. The jars are in two sizes and it's self serve. Pay by the weight. I had a Bee Happy and my hubby tried the Just Beecause. Both very nice. Parking is easy. The lot out front is good size. I love all the photographs they have on the walls that shows the process of putting on the bee keeper suit and harvesting the honey. The full length mirror in the hall on the way to the restrooms is darling. It's pretty chill so I really enjoyed just hanging out. Of course, I don't want to forget to mention, pay attention to the closing time. I waited too long to order honey and a drink to go. So I didn't get everything I wanted this time. I think they must have closed out their register already. I will definitely be back next time I am in town. Check it out!!

From their delicious food and drinks to their cute decor, it is such a fun atmosphere. Something unique they have is a Honey fill up station, where you can bring your own container or buy one and you can self fill up your container. The service is phenomenal and the staff are the sweetest! I have now gone three time and have had a consistently great experience each time. I have gotten numerous things from them. Their turkey and cheese croissant is delicious and would recommend it for anytime of the day. It was pressed like a panini and the cheese was gooey and the perfect amount. The Zuchinni bread is gluten and dairy free, it is moist and flavorful. I got a latte with oatmilk honey, and white chocolate. The coffee was rich and the flavors balanced perfectly. My favorite though is their iced honey pot drink. It was refreshing and out of this world! Nothing can describe how delicious it is!!! Don't sit on checking out this shop, I would recommend checking it out as soon as you can!

But what really makes this place special is their mission. They hire individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively invest in the community -- from vendor markets to hosting events like their upcoming 5K. You can feel that purpose woven into everything they do. We tried one of their themed drink flights (the Sweet Heart menu was adorable -- Love Potion, Love Struck, To The Moon & Back... so cute). The presentation in the little mason jars was fun and picture-worthy. Flavor-wise, they leaned sweeter than my personal preference, but still enjoyable and perfect if you love flavored lattes. They offer plenty of milk options, including non-dairy, which I appreciate. Bakery - vegan and gluten-free options clearly labeled. I grabbed the lemon scone (vegan + GF). It was good! I'm personally more of a vegan-but-not-gluten-free girl, so texture-wise it's not something I'd specifically crave again -- but I absolutely appreciate that they create inclusive options. My friend had the cinnamon roll and was happy. They also have a small retail section with mugs, shirts, local honey, and little gift items, which adds to the community feel. Overall, this isn't a hyper-trendy, third-wave coffee aesthetic spot -- it's something better. It's purpose-driven, inclusive, and clearly loved by the neighborhood. Not a five-star flavor experience for me personally, but an easy four stars for what they stand for and the impact they're making.

I came on a Monday around noon and while it got a little busy, it wasn't too loud or too crowded. I was able to read a book in peace and enjoy my very large coffee. The staff are extremely friendly and are very helpful with explaining the menu and how the shop operates. Plus they have cute stickers! I ordered the Lost Dutchman (with oatmilk) Spring Speciality drink. It was delicious, the flavors were pronounced and the coffee was strong!!! Staff super friendly, offered us a punch card, brought our order right to us quickly and with a smile. Our coffees were tasty and piping hot (I got the Goddess Energy - oh so sinfully cinnamony!) and he got the Cannon Beach (salted caramel for the mouthful of win). I had a good old fashioned toasted Everything bagel and they do NOT skimp on the cream cheeze (yep with a z) TYVM. PS-- Not to mention...located on their website is the full story of the owner and how Wild Pine came to life, totally heartwarming!!! Definitely definitely will be going back!

However, it's not really a dedicated coffee shop since you order at the side of the bar and then can sit in the dining area or the lounge, and there aren't pastries, but it's a great place to meet for coffee if a quiet and beautiful setting is important to you. It would be nice if they served in non disposables when you're not getting to-go to up the feel of a special cafe. I'd heard a little rumbling about Birdies Coffee Lounge which sits inside the Palmbrook in Sun City. The views of the golf course are beautiful from here. You can't miss where you need to be with the huge white double doors. Once inside you will see assorted large rooms where wedding receptions, celebrations of life and more may be celebrated. Veer your eyes a little to the left and you'll see where the coffee lounge is which is also a full bar. I was a bit confused at first because it was in a bit of disarray with stools pushed back from the bar and tables covered. A wonderful woman soon came out from the back and when I asked if they were open she stated they were closed until October 18th for remodeling and so other things. I let her know it stated they were showing open online when she quickly apologized. We got to talking and she offered to make me a coffee though options were limited due to the closure. That was so sweet of her. Of course my go to is cold brew which they didn't currently have, but let me tell you she made me the best iced americano I've ever had. With just a splash of half and half and sf vanilla I was in heaven. Even the color was on point. When you know you know. The location again is beautiful and better than I'd imagined before opening that first set of doors. I can't wait to come back when they reopen. So bookmark this spot and come support this local spot. Even through the chaos of their remodel they made us feel so welcome and stopped what they were doing to allow me to purchase my coffee. I didn't take many pics because I want to give it the best impression it deserves.
