I went in on a Sunday at 12:30 and they were busy but able to get a spot at the bar fairly quickly. I was greeted by the bartender right away and she had my water and order taken within the first few minutes of me sitting down. I liked that they had options to order half and half for under $13. I got the Louisiana gumbo and crab Benedict. The presentation wasn't top notch as the gumbo spilled out on the plate, however, it tasted great and the garlic bread that came with it soaked up the base perfectly. Somehow they managed to make it taste creamy. The crab Benedict needed some salt and they could have used about half the green onions. It was good overall though.

I had been craving biscuits and gravy for weeks so I stopped by to check them out! I ordered coffee w some hazelnut syrup and Jaqueline hooked me up with some cold foam on top which normally I'm not a fan off needless to say it was a great call on her part and I really enjoyed it! Everyone on staff was attentive kind and helpful. The place was clean and organized. They helped me checkout w Apple Pay and thankfully I got my biscuit fix which was great!

At 10:45 am on a tax free weekend there was about a 10 minute wait. As we waited for our food I noticed the line grew longer and even had folks waiting outside (in the summertime Texas heat). They use text to notify you when your table is ready with a " return to the host stand" text when they're prepping your table and another one to confirm the table is ready. We sat at the bar because of the shortage of tables. I really wanted to try one of the biscuit beignets, but it comes in an order of 4 which is too much for us. I had read another reviewer say they got a free order because it was their first time but no such luck with us, even when we just tried substituting a single beignet for our entree sides. Oh well. Rules is rules I guess. We got the seasonal soft shell crab scrambler with potatoes side and a hash brown Benedict with city grits which is an upgrade option for a few bucks more over their regular grits (comes with bacon, green onions and tomatoes). Their menu actually has a number of interesting off takes on the classic eggs Benedict. And while the variation we chose was good I'd probably stick with the classic next time. I had read some reviewers complain about the egg Benedict being overcooked but definitely not ours. The soft shell crab was also pretty good. And the omelet underneath has sausage bits which was nice. Jam selection is at the table and they have blackberry, strawberry and grape. We did like the decor there. The yellow just gave it a slight Mediterranean vibe. As we left tons of folks coming in. Good to see businesses thriving. Meal came out to just under $50, and that was without any drinks for either of us. As I've stated before, inflation these days is really putting a strain on the pocket book. But we gotta keep feeding the Yelp gods to maintain that Allstar status. ;)

Stopped by Another Broken Egg for a solo brunch date and honestly... this place understood the assignment. From the jump, the vibe was relaxed but polished--perfect for eating alone without feeling awkward or rushed. The space was bright, clean, and had that easy brunch energy that makes you want to linger just a little longer. The food? Solid. I went the savory route and everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and clearly made with intention. The potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside (as they should be), and the eggs were fluffy and flavorful without being drowned in nonsense. You can tell this is a kitchen that knows breakfast and doesn't need to show off about it. I also treated myself to a cocktail because... brunch. It was light, refreshing, and balanced--nothing too sweet, nothing too heavy. Basically the kind of drink that makes you sit back and say, "Yeah, I made the right choice today." Service was friendly and attentive without hovering, which I appreciate when I'm dining solo. I had everything I needed, when I needed it, and never felt forgotten. All in all, this was a really enjoyable brunch experience. Great food, good drinks, chill atmosphere. I'd absolutely come back--solo or with company. Sometimes you just need a good plate, a good drink, and your own peace, and Another Broken Egg delivered all three.

I've been to Another Broken Egg Cafe a bunch of times primarily in Austin and The Colony. This was my first time at this location. This time I wasn't impressed food-wise. I ordered the Floridan Omelette which is a cream cheese-filled omelette topped with garlic butter sautéed crab meat, Jack cheese and green onions. The crab meat was bland, I was expecting more flavor. The omelette was also just okay. The flavor was just bland overall. The hash browns wasn't salted which isn't a big deal to me, but it still wasn't anything to write home about. The English muffin was good. The presentation was good however. I also had the lemon berry mimosa. This is my go to drink here and this was very good as usual. I definitely recommend this mimosa. The service was average I don't recall my server ever checking in to see how my food was. She did check in to ensure if my muffin was toasted the way I requested it. I think after this visit I'm done with Another Broken Egg. There's too many really good brunch spots for me to have to settle with mediocrity in food and service.

Our first time in and on the weekends like any breakfast place it was crowded. We actually first went to First Watch to have brunch but the power was out! Welcome to Texas. So we drove down the highway and decided to try out this place since we were going to the golf shop a few doors down. Our wait was about 20 minutes and we had a friendly welcome and a super sweet waitress. But the service initially was slow but they were apologetic. We were offered some complimentary beignet donuts which were devoured since we had not eaten all morning. Our omelets were delicious but the goat cheese was really lacking so ask for extra goat cheese if you order the veggie omelet. I asked for avocado to top it off. The menu was vast and lots of specialty drinks were offered too. Overall I will probably be back when in the area but not on the weekend. Outside seating and a bar service available too.

Came here with a large group for breakfast. We did have to wait about 15 minutes for a table but the staff was super friendly and got us seated and drink orders taken quickly. Our food did take a little while to come out but going anywhere for breakfast on a Saturday morning we expected it. I ordered thw Floridian Omelet and while the crab sauce was pretty good there was little to no cream cheese in the omelet which would have helped to cut the richness of the sauce. Other people at our table also had some dishes that didn't quite hit the mark but the service was great and they have a lovely outside seating area with a beautiful fountain so I'd be willing to visit and try more of the menu based on our experience.

Came for brunch to catch up with a friend! Service - fast and pretty quick. They were quite busy that day but were still able to help us efficiently. Food was pretty good. I ordered the southwest scramble with a side of grits and and the buttermilk pancakes. Another quick little brunch spot for a quick bite.

Place was full on Saturday around 1:00 PM. We waited 15-20 minutes for a table for two. Pumpkin Spiced Pancakes ($14.99) The three pancakes, albeit not looking anything like the menu photo, were delicious. They were warm and lots of flavor. Wasn't huge on the fried sage but it was still a nice touch and could be easily picked off if they aren't your thing. The side sausages were warm and tasty, however, the side eggs came cold. Crab Cake Benedict ($16.49) Crab cake was not evenly salted and the hollandaise sauce was more a gravy in both texture and flavor. No lemon or sour/tang flavor. The poached eggs were also overcooked and I didn't get a yolk pop. These came with a side of potatoes which were good in flavor, but cold. Foodwise, it was a 3*. Pumpkin spiced pancakes and the sausage were good but the crab cake benedict was poorly done. Also, the eggs and potatoes coming to the table cold was not received well. -1 star for service. The server came to our table about 8-9 times to keep checking up on us. She also left the bill right after the food came, and even picked up the tipped bill right after I signed it, even before the food was done being eaten. The whole time, it felt like we were being rushed out the door, when our whole visit was 32 minutes which included the time it took for a busy restaurant to get our food out.

Raul B.

First time here. Got to restaurant around 1120 and it was busy for a Saturday. But it only took 5 minutes to sit us down. Sami G was our waitress and she was very knowledgeable about the food. Wife ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the biscuits and gravy. 2 stack of pancakes came with it. One thing I like I received military discount and to me it means a lot for my 24 yrs of service to this country. I will be back next time I am up in the area of Conroe/Woodlands area

There's a lot to choose from at Another Broken Egg. I had the Smoked Salmon Benedict with a Spiked Irish Coffee, and I enjoyed both of these dishes. Pairing Irish whiskey with coffee helps to mask the harsh whiskey aftertaste (what I imagine a sharpie marker tastes like) and create a satisfying alcoholic beverage. What holds this establishment back are the lackluster sides paired with the main dishes. I had the country potatoes and some grits, and both were unseasoned. Of course, they do have salt/pepper/hot sauce on all the tables so you can use them to drown out the unseasoned starchiness in these side dishes. But I'd rather just have them taste good to begin with.

Jonquil J.

It had been awhile since I've been to Another Broken Egg but I must say the food did not disappoint me. I ordered the lemon French toast with strawberry and blackberries it was amazing so light not overly citrus just the right amount of lemon. The bacon is always a good choice as well as the grits and eggs. The service was A1 she was very helpful with answering questions that we had about the menu. Ambiance was another broken egg very casual atmosphere I will try to do better and not take to long to return.

First visit to this particular location. The wait was only about 15mins and it was busy so that's a plus. Unfortunately the food was not. We both had omelettes but neither seemed to be prepared with all the ingredients stated. They lacked seasoning and were not hot. It definitely did seem like fresh ingredients were used. Our waitress was Katie and she was great but we won't be visiting here again. read more

We had seen this place a few times and always said "we need to try that". Thank GOODNESS we finally did. There was a wait for the table, but it was worth every minute. The food came in very generous portions and everything was fabulous. The coffee was excellent. The staff was wonderful. AND to top it all off the bathroom was spotless - which is always important to me! If I could eat here every day I would! I will definitely be bringing my family and friends to enjoy this place, especially to the gorgeous patio, area when it cools off. read more

Very spacious restaurant. The wait staff was very polite and attentive. Great food and they have nice citation branded coffee mugs. The food portions were very generous, and the food quality wad very high. I also frequent "the egg and i", and think this is their direct competition. We visited the Broken Egg for the first time in a couple of years. The place was packed with customers and I wonder how many were repeat customers. Like many restaurants post-Covid, the portions were much smaller and the prices much higher, but quality has become an issue as well. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros and we were shocked at the portion size. Generally that meal pretty much covers the plate but in this case it was a single six-inch tortilla with a few toppings. Not exactly a meal. Our son ordered the waffle -- and no joke -- he received a medium sized waffle cut into four pieces, but only three of the four were on his plate. Literally 1/4 of the waffle was missing! I struggled to find something to order. My former go-to was a power bowl of oatmeal with other whole grains (like quinoa) but there was nothing even close on the menu! The waiter suggested "loaded grits" which is hardly a substitute for the whole grain bowl. The fried green tomato dish had disappeared as well. I ordered the Monterey Power Omelette without cheese and sour cream (dairy allergy specified) and it came loaded with both. In addition to the tiny portions and limited menu, the bathrooms were absolutely filthy. The floor was sticky as though it hadn't been cleaned in a long time and the sinks and toilets were dirty as well. It was only 11:00 am! My uncle was a long-time restaurant inspector in Chicago and he always told us that a dirty bathroom generally translates to a dirty kitchen, so if you find that the bathroom is dirty, don't eat there! So much wrong here that I am completely baffled by the crowds. Needless to say we will not be returning to Another Broken Egg. read more

Another Broken Egg has been my wife and I's favorite breakfast spot. It seems like everytime we go in we are in a different stage of life. We were there while we were dating, engaged, married, and recently celebrating our first baby. It is the quality of the breakfast food that keeps us coming back. Everything has a nice fresh taste to it. Not greasy, overcooked, over seasoned, everything has been just right. I have personally enjoyed the omelettes and my wife their pancakes. Great iced coffees and drink selection in general. Customer service has always been top notch and it's just a wonderful atmosphere. We see ourselves coming back for years to come. read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants. We always get great service. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a Monday between doctors appts. with limited time. Our server Christina E. promptly took our drink order and we already knew what we wanted so she put it in. We may have waited 10 minutes for our food and we were enjoying our breakfast quickly. Our drinks were full at all times and she checked on us as soon as our good was delivered by the runner. We are regulars at this restaurant but had not had this server. Our hostess remembered my name so good on her! Especially with, I imagine soooo many regulars. The food here is always yummy. Boyfriend had crabcake Benedict and I had the bourbon street pancakes which has two eggs any style and choice of protein. Amazing! read more

This was one of the best breakfasts I've had probably in my entire life. We came from Colorado and were staying in the hotel near by. When the bistro in our hotel was closed we were recommended to check out Another Broken Egg and I am SO glad that we decided to go. I had the Lobster and Brie Omelette. If you are on the edge of whether or not to get it just do yourself a favor and do it! OMG it's the most delicious thing I've had. I also decided to get the cucumber Bloody Mary and even though the garnish was meh the drink itself was delightful! My daughter ended up leaving her stuffed elephant at the restaurant over night. In my panic to find her favorite stuffed friend I gave the restaurant a call and left a message, since they were already closed. Whomever opened the following morning gave me a call promptly to let us know she was safe and sound. I believe our waitress' name was Shelby who was also very patient and accommodating to our party of eight with small children. read more

I had ordered The Mardi Gras Omelet with the Banana Foster Pancakes. This is my favorite breakfast Restaurant. Since I'm a Pescatarian I love the Seafood that is always cooked to perfection; and a Big hit. The sauce is Rich. The Banana Foster is so Buttery and thick; the pancakes are huge and melt right in your mouth. The portions sizes are perfect. I always split them in half. And the potatoes are extremely filling. Just ok... There was really nothing special about the place. Lots of customers. You can not call it "huevos rancheros" then serve it with grits and on top of 2 deep fried tortillas. This dish is simple 2 over easy eggs, picante sauce, refried beans and potatoes with corn/flour tortillas on the side. It's not a hip thing to change the name and set an expectation. Cold eggs on the kids plate of pancakes and eggs... Sorry won't be back, let me start looking for a Waffle House... read more

Just had breakfast here for about the 10th time in past 4 years. Very good yet again. Omelets large fresh and hot. My favorite is the vegetarian. Kind of like the southwestern except green Chile is mild and from a can. Very good potatoes and unlike the Egg & I don't taste like pure vinegar. Can substitute sliced tomatoes for potatoes for those on low carb diet I recommend you only do this when tomatoes are inCan also get fresh fruit Today it was mixed berries all ripe again unlike Egg & I where you get underripe melon. My sister usually gets thick French toast. You can upgrade to REAL maple syrup that comes in individual mini jar. Chain out of Louisiana so coffee has chicory. Which I like. Always very fresh and hot. Like the narrow mouthed mugs. Lots of people either begin or end with biscuit bennet which while not traditionally authentic because they are biscuit based pretty good nonetheless. Especially like that they are served with sides of honey and orange marmalade. While not for me also have selection of seafood and egg combinations including crawfish lobster and salmon. Well they have totally changed and NOT for the better. Now trying to compete with the Denny's Slam breakfasts. Have lowered food quality to compete on volume and price. They have indeed gotten the volume (with a definitely different clientele- not to sound snobbish) and with volume service has suffered. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK ANYMORE. Oh well, another case of nothing good lasts forever. read more

A while back I would of given this place a higher rating, but I feel like my last visit wasn't as memorable as my past visits have been. I ordered the B.L.A.T.S which is a BLT with avocado and a fried green tomato. The tomato was a tad greasy and the sandwhich was salty. The service was just okay. Nothing special. In fact, she seemed super busy. In the past, I have ordered the Hey Lucy. If I were to go back that is what I would order again. The menu is limited on lunch entrees, they use to have more options, so omelettes are the best bet. read more

We were visiting nearby and found this place on yelp. It was great!!!! Bloody Mary's we're breakfast in a jar. Food was plentiful but not obnoxious. Three teenage boys cleaned their plates of waffles, bacon, sausage and a western style omelette. Not sure what it was called. I had the lobster and Brie omelette. Ah mazing!!! Hubby had two sunny side up eggs, sausage, English muffins and fruit. We opted to sit inside due to the heat but the patio looked lovely. We sat next to a side window that faced the wall of the store next door. It was decorated with brick and stucco, pretty plants and lanterns. There was a couple waiting outside when we left and they had dogs. I would guess they have a pet friendly patio but not sure. Service was excellent. Friendly and checked on us just often enough. I would have given it five stars but the bathroom needed some tending to. One soap dispenser was broken. But they were pretty busy on a Sunday morning. Get there early! When we left at 11 the line was out the door. We will be back if we're on this side of town again. read more

This place is really good for a standard breakfast place. Stay away from the things that are definitely not in their wheelhouse such as the lobster Benedict, anything with crab, etc... My girlfriend came here a few months back and was greatly dissapointed. We hesitantly came today with a group after seeing all the good reviews and we were pleasantly suprised. Service was quick, friendly, and detail-oriented. If someone ordered a lemon wedge with their drink, creamer for their coffee, or hot sauce for their eggs it was never forgotten. The food was also solid, everyone enjoyed their dish. My girlfriend had particularly good things to say about the bacon and fruit cup. I had the huevos rancheros and the tortillas were crisp, the eggs runny, and the green chiles added acid but not heat- hence the need for hot sauce. Was also a touch bland. Other dishes ordered were eggs benedict with ham and the mardi gras omelet which both got a thumb's up. We came in at 10am on a Sunday and didn't have to wait too long for a table, but by the time we left church was out and the place was packed. If going on a Sunday I recommend beating the church rush. read more

This restaurant is perfect for brunch and has great mimosas that we're so refreshing! Wait time was a little long (30-45 mins) but that was to be expected on a Sunday morning. Our waitress was kassie and she was as wonderful as could be. I have nothing bad to say about this place! Service was great and the food was amazing! I had the crab cake Benedict and it was delicious and my friend and her mom enjoyed their food as well! That was our first time there and definitely won't be our last! I cannot wait to go and try more of their menu! read more

Geez Louise, this brunch is Heaven!! It's everything I was looking for. Beautiful outdoor courtyard for weather friendly days. Excellent service and friendly faces. Perfect brunch menu. Bloody Mary's and mimosas, because it's not brunch without them. I was recommended any of the seafood dishes and was not disappointed in the crab cakes eggs benny. The crab cake was fresh and light, and the dish was savory and filling. Our sweet sweet waitress brought out a plate of their biscuit beignets on the house, nice touch! I don't come often because parking is always a nightmare, and tonight was no exception. When I showed them the app, the staff seemed confused on how to do a redemption. So they had to call the owner for help. The owner apparently told them not to honor the redemption because they were in the process of switching rewards program platforms, and what used to be a 50‑point reward was going to be a 300‑point reward. The staff said my points would transfer eventually, but I only will have 63 -- not enough under the new system. Hey, I'm no entrepreneur. But I am a customer who eats out all the time. And to me this is a textbook example of an owner who doesn't get customer service. I drove all the way there, dealt with the parking, and came specifically to redeem a reward that still showed as valid in their app. It's not my fault their system hadn't switched over yet. These cakeball and truffle treats are only the size of a donut hole. It's not one of their higher end desserts. The obvious right move would've been to honor the reward and give the customer the treat. But nope. They chose the stingy route instead. And with that one decision, they lost another customer. Congrats and enjoy your cakeballs.

I was eager to try out a new breakfast spot, and upon arrival, I was promptly seated by a very attentive and kind waitress. Excited to explore their menu, I opted for the Pecan cold brew, which was delightfully delicious. However, my experience took a disappointing turn when I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. Despite its simplicity, the dish fell short of expectations. The chicken was disappointingly bland, and even the honey sauce couldn't salvage it. It felt like they merely slapped chicken strips onto the waffle, lacking the flavorful touch I had hoped for. I'm accustomed to enjoying seasoned chicken atop fluffy waffles, but sadly, this rendition missed the mark entirely. While my initial experience left much to be desired, I'm willing to give this place another chance in hopes of redemption. However, I'll be steering clear of the same dish next time around. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Another Broken Egg in The Woodlands! My cousin and I arrived around 1:00 PM and were seated immediately--seems we beat the rush. Our server, Abby, was fantastic. She was so friendly and witty, really making our visit special with her great service and positive attitude. As for the food, the beignets were amazing--perfectly sweet and easily my favorite. The Mardi Gras omelette was also great, with the andouille sausage adding a nice kick. The only downside was the potatoes, which were a bit dry, but it might've just been an older batch. My cousin loved the Cabaret French 75, and the mocktail menu had plenty of tasty options for non-drinkers like me. The atmosphere was cozy and family-friendly, making it a perfect spot to relax. The young man who served us was very polite. The restaurant wasn't too terribly busy so the ambience was quiet gave me time to chat with my daughter. Food was really good I got breakfast tacos with bacon and sausage comes with cheese inside, it came with grilled potatoes that I wish had been seasoned a bit but they were good. I would have to say that my four star is for the cost of the meal otherwise all was good.

We were looking for a diner or local café with good food and, given its rating on Yelp, we decided…read moreto try this place. The menu options are huge in this diner and I really wasn't sure quite what to expect. Good news was our welcoming waitress named Candyce who was very friendly, answered questions and made suggestions. Mr. Picky has a sweet tooth and wanted to order just pancakes, but I bullied him into ordering one of their FIT omelettes (shrimp and avocado) and then they very kindly substituted two pancakes for the side of fruit. I was eyeballing the Reuben on the menu and when I asked the waitress to name her favorites, that was one of them and so I went ahead and ordered it with fried zucchini and onion rings. The latter two fried things we both liked, the Reuben was just average, but the omelette was loaded with mushrooms and onions which helped make it taste good (the kitchen did a good job on that omelette to put lots of stuff on it and send it to the table looking substantial and tasty). As they close at 3 PM, they don't have desserts at this particular location, and so we shared the Strawberry cheesecake pancakes to finish the meal. Overall, this is not a "4.7" level restaurant but that was on only 12 reviews. I might stop in again if I was running down Kuykendahl and needed a quick bite, but the good news was the price. We got all that food for $39.20 plus tip, a really great deal, and our waitress was great!

Really delicious combination of healthy and indulgent options. I will definitely be back!

Second time coming down here and it was very tasty before, when I got pancakes and my mother got…read morebiscuits and gravy. I can at least say that Mikki was a great server both times and very personable. The major issues this time were with the biscuits and hash browns. I got a western omelette with hash browns and a biscuit, while my mother got eggs Benedict and my father got a ham and cheese omelette. The biscuits are very dry and crumble apart, and because of this none of us were really able to eat them. Our hashbrowns were all different levels of doneness, but all were generally underdone, with my father's being pretty much uncooked and given a general sear. My own were lightly crispy, but the insides were somewhat raw. My mother's were at least almost completely done and had a decent crisp. I can say that at least the omelettes were alright; your standard omelette that you'd expect for a breakfast place to do. I enjoyed my omelette. Again, this place is good! I just don't know what happened this time. Perhaps there's a different chef in the kitchen. Our pancakes and biscuits/gravy from last time were quite tasty, though even then the biscuits were still pretty dry; the gravy helped though. Also, the inside looks absolutely adorable but whoever was managing the music had questionable choices... hard rock at 10 in the morning is a strange choice, even stranger is a bluegrass cover of Thunderstruck by AC/DC. It was all a bit strange and out of character for this restaurant. But I will say that Mikki was the one absolute good part, and I appreciated her service and attentiveness. Perhaps we'll come back again sometime and hopefully our preferred cook will be there.

After three visits, Compadres Texas Cafe has officially become my favorite breakfast spot in The…read moreWoodlands area. Jason ordered the Griddle Platter with a Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs, and bacon, and enjoyed everything. I ordered the Eggs Alone with two eggs, cheese potatoes, and a biscuit with gravy. The cheese potatoes were so delicious that I ate every last bite, then took my eggs and biscuit home. They reheated beautifully and made an equally delicious lunch. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and breakfast is served all day. The service has been fast and genuinely friendly on every visit without ever feeling intrusive or bothersome. Compadres has the comfortable, homey feeling you hope to find in a locally owned Texas café. Their sweet tea deserves its own five-star review. I order mine without ice, and it tastes incredibly similar to the tea Grandma Lilley made in a pot with two full cups of sugar. It brings me right back to some of the peaceful parts of my childhood, which makes it far more than just another restaurant drink. Great food, wonderful service, and a mason jar full of nostalgia--we will absolutely be back.

A server came over quickly, the service was good, and my sweet tea was consistently refilled. The food was affordable as well, although I did notice some pricing discrepancies between the online menu and the actual menu. I came here based on the online pricing, so I was a little surprised. For example, the three-item breakfast burrito is listed at $6.99 online but is actually $7.99 in person. The chicken fried chicken is listed at $12.99 online, while the in-person menu lists it at $14.99 for a small and $17.99 for a large. I also noticed that the online menu says three eggs are included with the chicken fried chicken, but I didn't receive them. I'd recommend updating the online menu so customers aren't confused. That said, I still had a great experience! The chicken fried chicken was excellent, especially with the mashed potatoes and jalapeño gravy. The burrito was a little greasier than I prefer, but it was still good. I also noticed they sell pies and cookies, so I'll definitely have to come back and try those!
