I asked for a biscuit. Eggs were fine. The home fries and the biscuit tasted the same. Obviously the grill imparted a "flavor" to the home fries and biscuit as both were grilled. This flavor was not good. The crispy bacon was ok. Had black marks on it that I could not u sweat and from cooking. My son's two eggs, half order of biscuits and gravy with bacon he enjoyed. As we were paying I noticed I had ordered the special 7-9 daily for 8.99 but I was charged 10.50. When I asked she said I gave you extra bacon I thought you would want that. At that point I scratched Sally's off the list and will never return. Kinda shady.

On my first visit, I ordered the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Pancakes with link sausages and a glass of orange juice. The pancakes were delicious, the sausages hit the spot, and the orange juice was... well, you know... orange juice. It did its job! The atmosphere reminded me of a classic country diner--cozy, welcoming, and filled with an older crowd, which I honestly prefer. One thing I really appreciated was being able to seat myself. That's always a plus in my book. Sometimes being escorted to a table means ending up in that one awkward corner nobody wants... but I digress. Overall, I had a great experience and would happily come back. My significant other, however, wasn't nearly as impressed. Oh well--you win some, you lose some! Sometimes breakfast is just a pancake split decision.

Fun fact, diners were started in New England region of America in the 1850s. All this to say, I love a good diner. I mean the American diner has always been there for middle America. The closest one to me and honestly it's definitely hidden away is the Maitland Breakfast Club. It's pretty much situated on the boundary line of where the City of Altamonte Springs starts. They have large space that's casual and what you would expect for a diner. Anyone can walk in wearing their Sunday best to pajamas. The waitresses are very welcoming and exactly the kind of person I would expect to invite me into a diner. We had gone on a Saturday afternoon and they're not a diner that's open late, so more of a breakfast diner really. Now I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and hash browns. For me, there are three breakfast staples I believe all amazing must revisit breakfast places should have. A good cup of warm regular coffee, eggs Benedict, and good crispy hash browns. I mean some places have other things like lattes and hash brown bowls, and I'm not saying those aren't good. However, when you nail the basics, you can do anything else. The hollandaise sauce was great and didn't split and bacon was crispy. The hash browns were super crispy, which I loved, and I could tell it had been made on a flat top grill, which is another very classic American restaurant kitchen appliance. The cup of coffee was good, I mean they had the sugar packets and the creamers right there. Overall, I would rate it a 9/10 and it set us back about $15 for just my portion. I will be back (said menacingly), Maitland Breakfast Club.

We went with the Black Coffee Smash Burger, Chicken and Waffles, and Arroz Mamposteao. The chicken was fried and topped with a cheese over a freshly made waffle, that had powered sugar. The chicken was a breast, and was overpriced, and the waffle was cooked nicely. The Arroz Mamposteao dish was a delicious surprise with the beans, rice, and plantains mixed together. The dish typically comes with a churrasco steak but we subbed for the chicken, and it was seasoned well, yet dry. I'd come back to try it with the steak next time. The Black Coffee Smash Burger was a pleasant surprise with how sauced it was with the pickles, onions and cheese. The bun was toasted toasted too! I would come back to try more of the breakfast items along with some coffee.

I come to First Watch pretty regularly and always like seeing what they add to the menu each season. This time I went with the Maple Bacon Croissant Sandwich without the jalapeños. It comes with Million Dollar Bacon, sausage, eggs, cheddar, and bacon apricot jam on a buttery croissant, but I substituted the sausage for extra bacon. I got the cheese grits on the side and, of course, a Morning Meditation, which is one of my favorite drinks here. The sandwich was sooo good! The bacon apricot jam added just the right amount of sweetness without making the sandwich too sweet. Between the bacon, eggs, cheese, jam, and buttery croissant, everything worked really well together. This is definitely one seasonal item I wouldn't mind seeing stick around. The cheese grits were just okay and probably wouldn't be my first choice for a side next time. The Morning Meditation, however, was as good as always. Service was great, and I really like this newer location. The only downside is getting in and out because of the traffic on 436, and parking can be a little challenging when they're busy. Other than that, this was another great First Watch experience. Food: 5 out of 5 Service: 5 out of 5 Value: 4 out of 5 Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Johnny's is a classic, somewhat nostalgic for me, diner experience, the servers were attentive and the coffee was nice and strong but smooth. This reminds me a lot of the Greek diners I went to all the time while growing up in Western New York. Our food came out fast, and everything was good. I got the biscuits and gravy and hash browns. the biscuits and gravy was comforting and the hash browns were actually my favorite thing, they were nice and crispy. My husband got the Greek omelette and hash browns and was happy with his meal as well. As mentioned before the staff was attentive and very nice. Coffee and drinks were being refilled before you noticed you needed it. I think they handle the weekend crowd very well. By the time we were leaving there were people waiting for tables, but it was a very large party so that's to be expected. Just be prepared for that if you come at peak hours. The restaurant itself was homey and gave that classic diner feel. Everything was lived-in, in a cozy way, but clean. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were just right. I would recommend Johnny's diner and will come again.

I ordered a scrambled egg plate with patty sausage, home fries, and a blueberry muffin. The blueberry muffin was my favorite, it was really good. The home fries were less desirable. I wish they were crisper and maybe had onions with them to add more flavor. My boyfriend ordered his breakfast with an extra order of toast and we had to ask our server to bring it out because it was forgotten about. The food could of overall used more seasoning.
