Inexpensive simple food. If you want a fancy coffee, this is not for you. If you want hearty food with friendly staff, this is the place.

At this location when we recently met friends here, the best part of our visit was Vivian, our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and open to food options not on the menu. Specifically, one in our party asked for a side of quinoa, if possible, since this gluten-free food was not under the Sides menu. Vivian checked in back and happily delivered a small bowl of fresh quinoa. Secret menu item? I don't think so, but Vivian asked and made it happen! My wife and I ordered the Salmon with sautéed vegetables Frittata and the salad, and I chose the artisan bread. The frittatas were cooked just right and the sautéed veggies enhanced the Sockeye salmon, flavor-wise. The artisan bread was fresh and the slightly melted butter was just right. I also ordered the "Sunrise Project" coffee which comes in a carafe - I'm a big fan. Our table's orders arrived in a reasonable amount of time, accurately, and at the right temperature. Vivian kept us taken care of during our meal and with a genuine cheery attitude. The interior is bright, modern, and open up to the roof. The plentiful seating is a combination of tables and booths. Located separately was a juice and coffee bar. MISC East Altamonte Drive (SR 436) can be a challenge at times to enter into the parking lot and exit back on it. But don't let it stop you from enjoying this place.

Fun fact, diners were started in New England region of America in the 1850s. All this to say, I love a good diner. I mean the American diner has always been there for middle America. The closest one to me and honestly it's definitely hidden away is the Maitland Breakfast Club. It's pretty much situated on the boundary line of where the City of Altamonte Springs starts. They have large space that's casual and what you would expect for a diner. Anyone can walk in wearing their Sunday best to pajamas. The waitresses are very welcoming and exactly the kind of person I would expect to invite me into a diner. We had gone on a Saturday afternoon and they're not a diner that's open late, so more of a breakfast diner really. Now I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and hash browns. For me, there are three breakfast staples I believe all amazing must revisit breakfast places should have. A good cup of warm regular coffee, eggs Benedict, and good crispy hash browns. I mean some places have other things like lattes and hash brown bowls, and I'm not saying those aren't good. However, when you nail the basics, you can do anything else. The hollandaise sauce was great and didn't split and bacon was crispy. The hash browns were super crispy, which I loved, and I could tell it had been made on a flat top grill, which is another very classic American restaurant kitchen appliance. The cup of coffee was good, I mean they had the sugar packets and the creamers right there. Overall, I would rate it a 9/10 and it set us back about $15 for just my portion. I will be back (said menacingly), Maitland Breakfast Club.

Our server was so kind as well was another employee that stopped by to chat with us. They offered suggestions and their fave menu items. My food was good. I really enjoyed the grits. My country fried steak was ok. I ordered rye toast but received multigrain. It was still delicious. I really wish they offered fountain sodas rather than cans at $2.99. Next time I would order coffee so I can get my caffeine fix. Also, I would prefer that they offered really butter instead of a butter/margarine blend. My last suggestion would be offering actual hot sauce mini bottles rather than a plastic cup of nondescript hot sauce. I have faith that this place will be great. They've already hired the best employees and service was great. There's just a few personal preferences I think the could add. Pay them a visit.

Our main server Savannah was so kind and efficient and the head server/ manager checked on us often during our breakfast. They both were amazing and kind. I bought a friend from New York who was visiting and she loved it. She requested if they could make her a Chunky Chicken Salad sandwich, rather than the salad on the menu. They obliged and even gave her a Bleu Cheese Caesar salad on the side. Briarpatch knows how to impress as well as cater to the needs of the customer! I ordered one of my favorites, the Brown Rice Bowl and it was fresh and more than filling for lunch. Various flavored mimosas were enjoyed also. I went again last week with local friends as all three of us enjoy this place (and its mimosas!!) One friend tried the Chunky Chicken Salad on the menu (seasonal fruits and berries with zucchini bread sandwiches) and commented on the presentation (which Briarpatch is also well known for) and the freshness of the fruit. She especially enjoyed the zucchini sandwiches! Her husband ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich as it is one of his favorites on the menu. He devoured every bite of it and was very pleased with the tenderness of the beef and the flavor of the au jus. I ordered the Short Rib Benedict as I eyed it a few weeks back. It did not disappoint! Plenty of shredded, perfectly cooked short rib was on a bed of crispy hash browns. Two poached eggs covered in hollandaise sauce sat nicely on top of this amazing dish. It was heaven! Based on the above, I trust you can understand why I love this place. Outdoor seating, exemplary service each and every time I visit and food that is picture-perfect and tastes outstanding. What more could you ask for?! I highly recommend the Briarpatch!

Then again, maybe it's a good thing because I'd probably be eating bagels every day and that's A LOT of carbs! LOL This was our first time here. I placed a mobile order and went inside to pick it up. Nice, large restaurant. Area with plug-ins for laptops for anyone wanting to work remotely. Ordered a chocolate bagel, a blueberry bagel, a blueberry muffin, a chocolate chip cookie, and a doggie bagel for my service pupster. First, I have to say my pup LOVED the doggie bagel. Another reason I probably shouldn't live so close b/c I spoil the heck outta my dog and I'd be here getting him bagels every day too. LOL The bagels were excellent, as I always expect from any Einstein Bros. The blueberry muffin was ok, but honestly I've had better. It has been probably 5 years since I've ordered a muffin from this chain, so it's possible they changed them, but it was not as good as what I remembered. I didn't try the chocolate chip cookie, but hubby claimed he loved it. The reason for the 4 stars is because the cleanliness could have been better. We got there around 10am, which was just after the breakfast rush. There was only one other customer in the restaurant when we got there and the employees were all behind the counter. I feel like perhaps someone should have been wiping the crumbs, etc. from all the tables. The restaurant was clean, as were the restrooms, but when they are not busy, it shouldn't be a problem to find a clean table. The employees were friendly and smiling. No complaints there at all. Make sure to check your bag when you leave. They had forgotten to put the chocolate chip cookie in. As this was our only visit here, I can't say if this is something that regularly happens or not. But again, they were not busy - it shouldn't have been missed. It's all good though; mistakes do happen.
