Food was good, the service was very slow. Were weren't checked on very often. The wait for food was about 30 mins.

The popularity of this restaurant is astounding. We came here for breakfast and I ordered the Veggie Delight omelette. What I don't understand is how a breakfast establishment does not get that when eggs are over-cooked, in essence "burned" because the frying pan is too hot, the eggs taste awful. My first dish was scorched and my second revision was also over-cooked, minus the cheese in my initial order. I threw in the towel at this point as I didn't feel that the "third time would be a charm." My husband's eggs were also burned but he soldiered through his food. The breakfast potatoes were good. The waitresses/bartenders were very nice. read more

Unbelievable food, extremely friendly people and wonderful atmosphere! I highly recommend this place.

Another broken egg is the perfect way to describe my most recent experience at this restaurant. Just left brunch with my family completely unsatisfied. Joined the waitlist online and was seated on time which was great. Once seated things went downhill from there. I was in a party of 6 and everyone ordered full adult meals except me; I chose to order the kids waffle sampler with an added side of potatoes. When I ordered the meal the waiter made a joke about my age and me being over the age for the kids meal. I completely understand restaurants put age limits on kids meals, but this is the first restaurant I have ever been to that actually enforces that. After the waiter made the joke about my age I said "I can order something different if I need too". The waiter said nothing and just asked what I was wanting to get so I told him again, he wrote it down and left. Once our food arrived to the table I was brought an adult size waffle and a side of potatoes. I explained that I had ordered the kids meal which comes with bacon and an egg, and at that point I was informed that because of my age I could not order the kids meal. If I had of been told this from the beginning there would not have been an issue and I would have ordered a different meal. I sent the waffle back because I did not want an adult size waffle nor did I want to pay full price for individual items whenever it is cheaper to buy things as a meal. The waiter offered to bring me out an egg and bacon which we accepted. However, when the bacon arrived it was ONE slice of bacon but yet we were charged for a full order of bacon. My one egg, one slice of bacon, and order of potatoes ended up costing just as much as my family members who ordered full meals. On top of this it took at least 10 minutes for us to get our drinks after we ordered them; my mom ordered coffee and asked the waiter for a French vanilla creamer and did not receive it until her next cup of coffee we had to ask a neighboring table for some for her first cup because our waiter did not bring it; my aunt did not receive her order of toast until she was over halfway finished with her meal; and my aunt who asked to substitute her sausage for bacon was brought both and charged for both (the waiter did remove the charge for her order of bacon). Typically I would have spoken to a manger, but due to being on a schedule I was unable too. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience and I have no intention to return anytime soon. read more

I am really shocked by all the positive reviews here. Our experience was lackluster at best. It took over 45 minutes to get our drinks (bloody Mary's and mimosas). When our food arrived an hour and 10 minutes later, we were given the wrong order (1 out of 4 dishes was wrong). The pancakes were cold, rubbery, and could not be eaten. The server (the only positive of the experience) had to replace our silverware 3 different times because every piece was filthy. Overall a really disappointing experience. read more

Always great service and love that everything can be modified for gluten free diners. One of our fave breakfast spots.

Pretty good breakfast although wait time was 40-45 minutes. Has biscuits and gravy with city grits. Grits were really good.

Wait staff was very friendly and attentive (but not annoyingly so!). The place was almost empty though so not sure if the service would hold up when it is busy. As far as the food it was overall just ok. I got a breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, potatoes, homemade sausage patties, and a biscuit. The eggs and potatoes had no seasoning and were very dry. Even hot sauce and ketchup couldn't make it much better. The biscuit was pretty good. The sausage was amazing. It was moist, really well seasoned, and just the right amount of crispy on the outside. The sausage was my favorite part of the meal hands down. I got scrambled eggs for my baby and they were a little less dry and a reasonable price. read more

The service here was extremely slow. The restaurant wasn't busy at all but it still took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. When it finally came it was barely even warm. Disappointing overall experience. read more

Perfect breakfast. Stopped in on Saturday morning to a pretty decent line. We were able to sit at the bar, so no wait there, and we didn't mind that option. They were really busy, but the bartenders were attentive and friendly, and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. Food arrived in a reasonable time for how busy they were, and everything was exactly as I'd dreamed it would be. I had the bananas foster waffle with eggs and bacon, and a decaf mocha. I would absolutely be returning if I lived in the area. For now, I'll just look forward to my next trip down. read more

Great breakfast place. I'm always looking for what's going to be to go to place. This is it. I walk out of their stuff. Prices are reasonable and the food is outstanding. Service was great as well we had Sloan as our server. She did a phenomenal job. Management don't let her go she deserves the highest of accolades for her performance. We will be back again shortly. Don't miss out on this place. read more

Had a short wait for an incredible experience. As our first visit they brought us free beignets. The spicy bloody Mary was the greatest thing ever consumed for a breakfast beverage. And it only got better from there... read more

Delicious food. Well worth the wait time. Our server Becca was amazing! The bacon is a must get. The Southwest Scrambler was also so so so good. read more

Went here two days while visiting Nashville last week. Even though there was a long wait the first time, I like that you could leave your cell phone number and they would text you when your table was ready. The second time I went, I sat at the bar and Becca was so phenomenal and kind and helpful. I am from New York but I would definitely visit again and I highly recommend at least going once during your trip. Excellent menu items and drinks all around! read more

I came in Monday morning with a group of 4 and ended up sitting at the bar. It was crowded but such a great atmosphere. The food was delicious, I had the crab Benedict, and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. Our cocktails were great, and to top off our experience our bartender Beth was AMAZING. We will be back next time we are in the area. read more

The food was delicious, I would have given them 5* but our food took a long time! We parked at the parking garage adjacent to the building and from the time we armed till we left it was an hour and a half. But halfway or so through the wait the gave us a free plate of beignets (which were delicious). It was lunch hour but still think the time it took was a little excessive. read more

The food was good but we received horrible service. As a prior waitress I would never drop a check at the beginning of a meal, count my tips in front of customers or wait 15 minutes to bring waters and introduce myself. I also would not hover over one's meal and watch them eat. It felt very rude and rushed. read more

Services was great. Food was very disappointing. I found out that they use liquid eggs and don't even crack eggs! The name is Another Broken Egg Cafe and they don't even break eggs...? #anothergallonofeggscafe read more

I'm not one to be highly critical. We saw the 4 stars and all of the reviews, but I honestly can't understand why this is rated so highly. Maybe there is a different standard in Nashville for food but my wife and I thought this was just okay. Coffee was not good either. Frothy Monkey is a far better option. read more

Super excellent service and food. The best grits I've ever had by far. The best part of the meal was the service as well as the welcome as we walked through the door. I would eat here every chance I got. They know their clients, and even if they don't you are treated as if you're family. Place was clean, orderly, and packed with regular customers. read more

Let me start off by saying THIS PLACE IS AMAZING !! Not only is the food great and delicious, CHAD IS THE BEST SERVER IVE EVER HAD! I'm glad he served us and made our experience even better. So genuine and honest and very knowledgeable of the menu to help you decide. Thank you for an amazing time. I RECOMMEND AND WILL RETURN!!!! read more

The food was good, but the wait was long and the bill was higher than the worth. The Nutella drink was tasty and the French toast portion was much bigger than expected. read more

See all

Was in town last weekend and wanted to meet a friend for breakfast on a Monday morning. Four of us were seated quickly. However the side item situation on the menu is very confusing. So, we asked for clarification before ordering and all thought we understood and that we and the waitress were on same page. Food came out, was ok, nothing to rave about... but a decent breakfast. When she brought out tickets several of us were overcharged. When we inquired about it, she argued rudely that we were wrong, but that she'd fix it anyway. I explained that I didn't mind paying it, but that she may want to mention to management how confusing the menu is to alleviate frustration on both the customer and server end in the future. She flipped out, yanked receipts out of hands and stormed off. We never saw her again and some other angry employee came over. Maybe a manager, we weren't sure because she never introduced herself. Just same angry, accusatory energy as previous server attacking us. When she brought over new, fixed tickets, she asked me if I was the one with the items on the ticket in her hand. I explainee that no that was my friend and pointed to who it was and then told her that I had the lobster and Brie omelette. To this she angrily replied "I don't have your ticket, I've never seen it, can you please just let me do one thing at a time!" Every time she walked off we could overhear her muttering rude things about us to other employees as well as seeing constant daggers of glares at us like we were bad people. It was crazy and I've never been somewhere where people treated us so poorly and acted like we were bad guys. Worst service ever. I hope both of those women have a better day than they did that day because they were obviously miserable, and nothing we could have said or done would have fixed that. read more

Great breakfast a little on the pricy side but was great overall get there early because there is a wait sometimes

Good is mediocre at best. The waitress recommended the biscuits and gravy. It's alright - too salt - tell salt bae to chill. My friend ordered a crab cake. The crab cake was so thin like my love for salty food I wouldn't come back just saying. read more

Amazing service at the bar! Becca is a an all star bartender! Becca if you see this, hi!

Was looking for a place to eat breakfast and this popped up first and it looked really good. It didn't disappoint. The decor was really nice and so was the service. Very attentive and polite. The food exceeded my expectations. It was a lot better than I imagined. I would definitely go here again. read more

The food here is good and the restaurant is nice. It's hit or miss with the service staff. I've had a couple really great waitresses, and then I've had some that were just really not on their game. My big issue though is the wait time. I've ordered the fried green tomato BLT a couple times and it comes with breakfast style potatoes. And I waited over an hour for the food to be brought out. That is crazy. This is a place I like because the food is good and it's so close to my office, but I'm not going to be spending an hour and a half at lunch on a weekday for just a BLT. They really need to speed up service all around - the initial welcome, taking your drink order, bringing out drinks, bringing out food, refilling drinks, bringing out your check, and returning your paid check to you. At every step of the way they are SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. On the occasion I have had one of their better waitresses, she did a very good job of refilling drinks and checking in on us, but she can't make the food come out faster and that was our big problem. read more

My friends and I loved everything about this place! The Spiked Nutella latte was delicious as were the Mimosas (such a great place for Brunch drinks). The Waffle Sliders with Agave butter were out of this world! The food and drink choices are unique, making you want to go back multiple times to try everything. Our waiter Stuart did a great job at making us feel welcomed and gave us good advice on things to do around town! We will definitely be going back whenever we're in Nashville. read more

Good food but SLOW service. Waitress was nice but it took 20 mins for a drink and 50 mins for food.

great service great food and even better mood and here is where i write filler just like my 5th grade school report to post this reveiw

The food was fine. However, they served our party way later (an hour after we sat) than parties who sat before us. Also, the crab Benedict I ordered came with sausage on it, which was not mentioned in the menu. I don't eat pork and had to pick it off. Would not return. read more

This place was really-really good. It's almost always busy, so do yourself a favor and get on the wait-list...then go walk around the shops in Broadway Street area to kill time. Keep looking for another place for breakfast. Got there at 830. Place opens at 7; waiter was still parking his car. Took long time to place order. Longer for food to arrive. Food arrived cold; congealed biscuits and gravy. Ham was missing. Ham showed up after the meal. Promised coffee refill never arrived. Alas. Must be better places for breakfast in Nashville. read more

Terri and Becca were great bartenders!! That Bloody Mary was GOOOOD!!!

My office is located downtown and I've seen this cafe a few times but had never tried it before. On June 29th, 2016 I decided to pop in to make a to-go order. Big mistake. Experience: When I first walked in with my friend, I was instructed by the host to find a place at the bar so they could take my order. The place was empty so I figured we wouldn't have a long wait. After 10 minutes the bartender finally appears and begins to flirt around with a couple other bar patrons. She finally notices my friend and I and gives us menus so we can make an order. She continues to flirt around with other patrons, and a couple other people take seats at the bar and make order to eat in the restaurant. After 15 minutes Maddie delivers those people their food and takes my credit card that I had sitting in the payment booklet. When she brings back my card, she laughs saying "I gave your card to those guys!" (two men at the bar, they are laughing too making credit card fraud jokes) I just stared at her and the men and said, "That's not funny at all" and I take my card back. The men leave and still after 40 min my to-go order has not been delivered. We see Maddie looking frantic behind the bar, clearly she's wondering where my order is. She does a panicked run around, she'd probably forgotten to put my order into the kitchen or something between her flirting. I told my friend that I'm just going to leave despite already paying. I changed her tip on my credit card receipt to $1 from the original $3 I had left her on a $9.84 bill. About 5 min after I did this my friend and I get up from the bar to leave and here comes Maddie with my to-go bag. We say thanks and leave, muttering under our breath that we will never come back. Today, July 4th, I go to check my bank account so I can pay bills. I notice there are 5 separate credit card charges and cancelations on my card from 'Another Broken Egg Cafe' on June 29th, for various charges totaling to around $50. Thankfully my suspicions about Maddie's integrity led me to hang on to my receipts. I have proof of my order amount and you can even see my original total of $12.84 when I had left my original $3 tip. Credit card fraud is no laughing matter, and neither is accidentally handing one patrons card to another. It's understandable that little mixups can happen, but staff should never handle these situations as if it were a funny joke. If my card was swiped to pay someone else's bill and then cancelled, then of course charges and cancellations will be expected on my card statement; but to not inform me of this is just not good practice. This establishment needs to better educate their staff on these matters. Food: I got back to my office and was thinking well, hopefully the food will make up for the poor service. I opened the box and a nicely presented black bean burger with potatoes was a pleasant surprise. But, as expected, the food was just as terrible as their service. The burger had barely been cooked, it was more like a mound of smashed beans. Black bean burgers should be slightly crisp on the outside in order to hold their shape. The burger had a bland taste and combined with the mushy texture it was too disgusting to even choke down. The potatoes were just plain deep fried pieces. They weren't even seasoned, so nothing special there. The only highlight of the meal was a quarter of a dill pickle they had included lol So if you've taken the time to read this, please do not waste your time going to Another Broken Egg Cafe. I had mistakenly thought it was a cute local restaurant, but it's actually a chain. Think of it like a more expensive version of IHOP. There are so many awesome places to go in downtown Nashville, DO NOT GO HERE. And even if you don't mind chains and just want a quick meal, DO NOT GO HERE. *Edit* I actually wasn't going to take the time to even write a poor review of this place because I originally attributed the experience to Maddie's terrible service, but after seeing my credit card statement I figured it's best to inform the restaurant and others of how terrible this place is. read more

I've been waiting - quite impatiently - for ABE to come to Nashville. Today I am ecstatic! This place is beautiful! The food is just what you would expect from such a place - spectacular! Jo, my server, went far beyond what you would want in the way of great service. My regret is that the restaurant is 10-15 miles from home, though that is probably good because I would probably be here every day if I lived close! I was concerned about parking but there is a parking garage right next door. This has been a wonderful experience! read more
