I ordered the traditional breakfast with bacon and chocolate chip pancakes. The bacon tasted like it had been sitting in its own grease for some time. One of the plates had dried egg yolk that was missed by their dishwasher. Coffee tasted good but the mug it was in tasted like it needed more cleaning. I came here with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning after stumbling upon this place with no reservations.. (BAD IDEA). This place has a long wait and is VERY busy. We honestly couldn't truly enjoy the food just because we were so taken a back by the fact that we had just spent way more time than we expected. As per the recommendation of the waitress I went with the crab cake benedict which was both unique and delicious. My boyfriend is a little less adventurous chose traditional day starter (eggs, bacon, toast), pretty basic. We were quite disappointed in this morning's visit to ABE in Grand Boulevard. For safety, we asked for outside seating. The screens were lowered on the outdoor patio, without reason since the sun wasn't creating an issue. This created a much more confined environment. Servers had their masks below their chins claiming this was ok because they are outside. Tables did not appear to be spaced apart. We ordered Bloody Mary's. After we began drinking them, the bartender appeared at our table without mask or gloves, bringing bacon on picks. She placed the bacon directly in our drinks. We explained our concern and the waitress said it wasn't a problem, since the bacon was on picks (in the bartender's bare hands). If they believe this behavior is acceptable in front of guests, I'm concerned that further risks occur in areas customers can't see. read more

We are local residents and this used to be our favorite restaurant. Several months ago, it got a new manager and the long-time staff all began quitting. I ordered pickup while waiting for my tire to get fixed. The location closest to me was off legendary drive and located this off of Google maps. Once I selected to order pick up it transferred to the grand location. (I'm nosure how this happened) I order $48.76 worth of food. Once I arrived to pick up the food I noticed the order was placed at the wrong location with the help of the staff. The employees at the legend location were nice but couldn't help me. I called the other location and was yelled at and talked down to. The two ladies advised me they wouldn't help me I should have paid attention to where I was ordering. I attempted to tell them I was visiting and the area I was staying and got nowhere. No sympathy or care in the world. I was told to dispute the charges with my bank cause they wouldn't give me my money back. No food or services were received. Worst experience in my whole week long trip to Destin. My worries were unfounded, even late on a Sunday morning. They even have an app to send your phone a message when your table is ready, so you can wander around the other stores if you'd like. 2. The staff is professional grade. They all take their job seriously - including the host, the server, the bus crew, and the manager who all made sure my breakfast was well taken care of - at least twice each. 3. The place is super clean, and even the restrooms were nice. That goes a long way - it really does. It shows they care about what they do. 4. The food... oh my! Get the Powdered-Sugar-Orange-Marmalade Beignets - either to start - or to finish. (Or both...) The fat kid in me had a huge smile on his face when they arrived. And wow, they were dangerously good. I saved a few for after breakfast, but they all got eaten. I tried not to spray powdered sugar all over myself, and almost succeeded... maybe don't wear black like I did? A white shirt could be useful... moving on... The City Grits are good - I particularly liked the crumbled bacon on them. You can sub them in for the potatoes at a minor extra cost. The steak was okay - not high grade - but if that's what you want, you're in the wrong place... not a bad option though - I enjoyed it, along with the tangy and sweet medium-spice hot sauce at the table. Start off, had gone to the one in Destin previously in the week and had a good experience so decided to go back. Well the one in Destin was closed due to inadequate staffing, however, we saw this location was only 20min down the road decided to go there. Put name on waitlist before we left Destin after calling to see what the wait time was (1hour for 2 people) it took 25ish min to get there. The host here had no idea what she was doing. She would seat tables then have to make multiple trips back to tables because she didn't take menus the first time. At multiple times there were 5-12 open tables with no one being sat. So finally we got sat an hour and a half after we put our name on wait list for a one hour wait. Not only did host again not bring us our menus and me personally asking before we left the host stand to get menus, she said "i'll bring em right to you honey" and then just pointed at the table and said you can take that one while she remained at the host stand. We sat at table for about 5 minutes as she took 3 other tables with menus to their seats, finally we had to get up and once again ask to get our own menus and silverware. So now we are at the table, the server comes up no smile or welcome just "what can I get you to drink?" We told order for drinks then sat there another 15 minutes and had yet to get drinks or our food order taken or even a come back to the table. We saw multiple other tables already with drinks and food ordered before we decided to just leave. Having worked in service industry for 7years I rarely just leave a restaurant or even write reviews, but this was absolutely ridiculous. After leaving we called back to speak to a manager and was told they were unable to come because they were on the floor, so asked for a corporate number to which the host put us on hold then said she couldn't get it because they had moved offices?? She said she could google it to which I replied No thank you I can do that myself. Maybe if you close one location offer staff from that one to help cover the other, especially since you're so close to each other. And how about making sure your staff is trained and your servers can at least smile, it goes a long way to a shitty start and can often times change the whole previous events. read more
