Visited the area and stopped by for food. The location is situated in the Gardens Westgreen complex. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits which is $17.99. The menu stated in the description that there are "Gulf Shrimp" which I found to be questionable so I kindly asked the waitress "Rubi" if I could speak to a manager( because, I assumed he should know the restaurant and the quality of the food). Well, the manager took offense that I requested a manager to ask whether or they were gulf shrimp. When he approached my table, he spoke mildly condescending. He came off very rude and irritated. As I waited for the menu from the waitress, I asked him if the shrimp in my plate where gulf shrimp, he replied, yes. I then asked, if the menu stated if they were gulf shrimp which, I couldn't remember hence me asking for a menu to confirm. He said it didn't state they were gulf shrimp. As the menu came out, it states they were GULF shrimp. I think that really irritated him because he was wrong. He then proceeds to say theyre a different type of gulf shrimp. And then asked "you asked for a manager to see if they were gulf shrimp?" I stated, yes I did but I'll take your word for it. And then asked there was an issue with me asking for a manager? It was entirely awkward. Mind you, I didn't have an attitude; I wasn't rude nor asking for a refund. Just super curious if these were gulf shrimp then I need to sharpen up on my knowledge of seafood. WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Our group was 7-4 adults 3 kids, it wasn't too busy waited about 5 minutes to be seated. It was nice so we decided to eat outside. When we were seated we waited about 15 minutes for the server to arrive(Jason) we didn't really mind because it gave us time to look over the menu and decide. He took our drink order and we advices we were ready to order he took our order and left. 20 minutes later our food arrived but we still hadn't received our drinks, so we asked the person dropping off the food if we can get our drinks. Another 5-10 minutes no drinks so we asked another girl if we can please get our drinks. We waited another 5-10 minutes no drinks, I couldn't eat my food without having something to drink so I decided to go inside to the bar for water... there was no one there and our server was nowhere to be found. inside was not that busy so I flagged down a different worker and asked for our drinks to be delivered. He went outside and had to retake our drink order after another 5 minutes and half the table finished with their meal we finally get our drinks. My sisters coffee mug had lipstick on it, that was the last straw we asked to speak with the manager. Once she arrived (Diana) right behind her was our server, that was the second time we've seen him in the 45-60 minutes we've been there besides to take our order. We let her know how we were displeased and the fact the coffee mug was dirty, all she said was I'm sorry and ok like it didn't matter. I told her I couldn't even eat my meal it was already cold to just bring out the bill. Once she stepped away the server(Jason) started arguing with my sister telling her he was inside and has other tables to attend, I guess just not the ones outside because there was another couple sitting there for over 20 minutes no one had taken their order. not once did he apologize he just made excuses. My sister let him know we didn't care for his excuses to just bring out her coffee he got aggressive and said if we kept it up he would kick us out, stated he didn't need that job because he had another. That was clear with the poor customer service, the manager came back stated she would comp the 2 meals we didn't eat and the coffee. We let her know of his attitude all she said was ok, at this point I was done with his rudeness, arguing and her incompetence we paid and I walked away. After we left we saw she did comp the coffee and meals but charged the kids milk separate although it's included with the meal.at this point I no longer wanted to deal with this TERRIBLE location and even worse service. never going back again!! read more

We visited the Katy Freeway restaurant on Christmas Day. It started off rocky because we had to switch tables a few times due to the small space and they were a pretty busy. My husband and I weren't comfortable with the fact they kept offering us really small tables that were close to others, the booster seat wasn't an option because it wasn't stable on their seats--I'm pregnant (with a huge belly) and an active 1 year old that needs to be fed so the seating is always important. Iykyk. We considered leaving after being seated at the 2nd table and told we couldn't have a high chair. None the less, our waitress saved the day--I didn't catch her name but she helped us move to a 3rd table, where we were able to sit somewhere with enough space and "it was not a fire hazard to have a high chair" and made sure to offer food recommendations so we would be satisfied with our meals. Food came out quickly and everything tasted amazing. It is comparable with Firstwatch but had more creole options and I felt the portion sizes were better. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly, Even the seafood. It was a decent experience for our first time ever on a holiday. But it really was a great turnaround the food was worth it. Our food came but still missing a side order of pancakes which we were told would be right out. After putting in our order, our waitress never returned. Our pancakes never showed. I went to this restaurant this morning. I have never been to one before. EVERYTHING was great. The food was amazing, and even the tea had a good tea flavor. The waitress was very attentive and got what we needed when we asked for it. We had no clue what to get because it all looked and sounded good. The waitress suggested the shrimp and crawfish quiche. I got the country power bowl. Both of them were amazing. We will definitely be going back the next time we go to Katy. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager about requesting the upper management to put one in Victoria. Katy is 2 hours from us whereas Victoria is only 30-45 minutes away.
