This was my second visit to ABEC and it was very disappointing compared to the first visit. I got the short rib special however it was nothing special. The short rib was not tender at all and the grits had no flavor. My husband had an omelette which was also flavorless. This visit is sure to be my last. So sad because after my first visit I thought this was going to be my go to brunch spot... read more

Delicious and good Customer service. Suggestions: Please open up a restaurant on NE area!

I like the sayings on the wall for decor. The service is good. They serve up a healthy portion of food as well.

I love the brunch here, I like the atmosphere and the service, never disappoints!! The food is also amazing, I love the menu changes every so often! Keeps it fresh and exciting and forces me to try new things instead of the same old stuff! read more

We ordered a number of food items and a few were actually pretty good. The sweet items, pancakes, waffles were great but the omelettes were not anymore than average. Service was really good but they did forget our coffees. It's a small strip mall restaurant but has lots of seats. We liked it but they are a little expensive. read more

The food was great but I had a nasty cup there was something smeared inside my glass of water. The server was having a casual conversation at the bar. She got me a new glass of water and said she check this one. There was still gross stuff inside the second glass of water. It took us forever to get cashed out to leave. read more

Another Broken Egg Cafe - This was the second glass served to me with nasty stuff inside. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Columbia, South Carolina

Ok, I love Another Broken Egg. We drove out of the way for breakfast here and were sadly disappointed. From the street it looks brand new, the wear of the table and sad condition of the seats say otherwise. The sausage gravy had too much flour and was probably a week old. Bacon over cooked, omelette was disappointing. Now the bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the grand opening and they provide nothing to dry your hands with. I would call this location an embarrassment to the chain and recommend a hard pass. read more

Went on a work trip to Fort Jackson and we wanted to grab food on the way back to Fayetteville. We found this cafe and went there based on the fact that they had beignets. These alone were worth the drive and I'd drive back here just to get them. Everything else was great! I really enjoyed their mixed drinks too. They sat us even though they were closing soon and we weren't even the last folks out of there. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits! read more

Me and my wife Stopped in at Another Broken Egg Cafe as we were waiting for our dogs to finish with the vet on a random Thursday morning. It's in a nice location with plenty of parking. Upon walking in there are people outside enjoying what looked like delicious meals. We were seated immediately on the inside and the first thing you notice is the decor. It has a modern but rustic approach which i personally love. We started off with drinks that didn't come until after we received our foods which is why they get 4 stars instead of 5. Also i had a dirty fork that was replaced. Management told us the bartender was new so I get it. I got a Pecan cold brew that also had Makers Mark. It was smooth and tasted liked coffee. Our server was great and was very insightful on the menu. We started with the biscuit beignets that were phenomenal. They were soft and airy and the perfect start to our meal. I ended up going with the lobster and brie omelette with light cream cheese (recommended by our waiter) and my wife got the shrimp and grits. The lobster and Brie omelet was flavorful and surprisingly not overwhelming with the cheese. It was soft and fluffy well worth the 15min wait. I had a taste of my wife shrimp and grits and that was amazing. Grits was cooked perfectly and was seasoned very well. The shrimp, sausage and gravy meshed like your favorite singing group. I wanted to kiss the chef for such a phenomenal meal. Outside of our drinks coming after we started eating and my fork being dirty i really had no complaints. The food and our server were A1 start to finish. Will be going back soon though read more

My friend and I slid into Another Broken Egg Cafe for a light birthday brunch on a Wednesday. We had a great time at the restaurant. It is super clean, bright and fresh on the inside. Tons of booth and table seating, plus outdoor seating as well. The menu is huge and is double sided. They have a full bar and it looked like a great place to come for a weekend brunch. We both had savory breakfast dishes and they were really wonderful. I had a salmon bagel and she had the seafood omelet dish. Fast service. I ordered a serving of beignet biscuits -- they were so fun. Impossible to describe other than to say, biscuits done up like beignets?? Just try them - you will love them. Good portions. We both took boxes home which is saying something for breakfast food. We had excellent service with a warm, fun, and engaging server. Overall the dining experience was wonderful. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone either local or who needs a nice place to grab brunch as they pass through the area. Check them out - it's a good time! read more

My friends and I have been trying to get to Another Broken Egg so long, but they are always so packed (that's a good thing). Recently, we all decided to get up early and be there at 7:30 AM. BEST. DECISION. EVER. The food was great, service was great, seating was spaced out enough for COVID-19 safety. The staff had masks on (thank you) and they were all friendly. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. As soon as you walk in, the bar is on your right hand side and it so mesmerizing to look at. There were 3 of us and we all ordered the Shrimp n Grits and I ordered a side of home fries. It was good, but very very spicy. I would say if you don't like spicy, go with something else or ask if they decrease the spice (I doubt they can though). I also ordered a 1/2 dz of their Biscuit Beignets and OMG....they were delicious. I've never had Beignets before but if those were any indication of what they taste like in NOLA, I was impressed. They also have a sauce that comes with it. We had their mimosa by the pitcher. We each got 2 glasses full out of it. It was tasty. We wanted to try the infused mimosas, but unfortunately they can't serve liquor until after 10 AM. Lastly, the owner (the guy) came around and spoke to us briefly and shared a laugh. We told him it was our first time there and he was interested in our service and food. Overall, great experience. Will be going back. I want to try everything on their menu. Pros: - Convenient location - Clean atmosphere - Outside seating - Friendly staff - Great food - Fast Service Cons: - They get busy quick, so go early if you don't want to wait or fight the crowd. read more

We visited this establishment for the first time on Father's Day!! They were beyond busy as there was a 2 hour wait!! There were 45 parties ahead of us!!!! We decided to wait it out. Let me tell you that it was well worth the wait!!! The food was amazing!! The service was amazing!! Like I said, they were very busy and under a lot of pressure, but DID NOT show at all--which made for an enjoyable dining experience!!! read more

Lillian and Rebecca provided perfect service on a unusually busy Super Bowl/Valentine's day weekend. Their omelettes offer an ambitious array of your typical fresh produce, but also unconventional ones like diced asparagus, and thick cut garlic clove. Everything here appears to be farm to table fresh, and you won't be disappointed. If you can get here before 9AM you beat the heard, and I love that they offer a military rate. read more

This is my 4th time eating here and I absolutely love it. By far the best food I've had in the state! It's the perfect spot for brunch and has fast and efficient service. The place is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The best part is the incredible food! Their brunch menu was incredible with items like a Lobster omelet with cream cheese inside. The bourbon pancakes are covered in pecans, bananas, sauce, and whipped cream. My mouth was shocked by the perfection of that combo. The bacon was the perfect level of crispy and the coffee has the perfect strength and flavor. This and Bourbon are my two top spots in Columbia. read more

You would think at this price for bacon and eggs that you would get at least three slices of bacon! The bacon was good. The eggs were good. The English muffin was singed around the edges but not really toasted. The home fries were from frozen chunks and had too much Old Bay type seasoning salt on them. I guess they were out of 1/2 and 1/2. My milk/creamer arrived in a to-go condiment container. I asked for my check when I got my food since I was alone at a 4-top. I also had a meeting to go to. (The bar was closed. I was trying to be respectful to the wait staff and free that prime table.) For the next 15 minutes I waited for someone to pick up my check. Finally had to wave the trainer/waitress over to collect it. She acknowledged me from across the room, but continued to make other stops before coming over. It was frustrating and disrespectful. I still left a generous tip but I doubt I'll go back. read more

The food and service was really good, my problem was asking for Bourbon French Toast. This is breakfast is awesome but now they nickel dime you to get the bourbon, pecans and bananas. Now they want to charge you buck extra for each of the ingredients, $20.00 for French toast!!! We used to be a regular here, but not anymore, I paid a dollar for 4 slices of banana!! read more

I really loved it here! This was my first visit at ABEC and our experience was awesome! The food being delivered around me looked yummy as well. I will be back again because I wasn't able to try the mimosa. Our server was super sweet and attentive and the Resturant was packed. Because of the pandemic, the packed Resturant made me a little nervous, but there was sanitizer stations around the Resturant so that was a plus. It was a small wait to get to a table but they will text you when your table is ready so I waited in my car until that time came. I can't remember the menu name for my dish, but it was basically a lobster omelet. Too Good! Until next time... read more

The food was serve hot and it was seasoned well. The pancakes were too sweet for my liking but my husband loved them. They tasted more like a funnel cake. I prefer mine more savory. My city grits were really good and tasty. Our service was not the best. I do know that they were very busy so maybe our server was overwhelmed. All in all the atmosphere was great and I would go back as well as recommend it to others. read more

My sister and I went here and she ordered the egg hash benedict. It was the worst take out order I have ever seen or made in my life so much so that it was comical. I have no idea why this was; I'm sure that this place is ok but it was pricey and not good at all definitely a waste of money! The egg came in a cup with mostly water , the sauce was just straight up oil the tomatoes where almost spoiled and the potatoes where barely cooked, they didn't even try with the taste or presentation which hadn't happened even though we had tried it before. If we had know we really would have gotten a refund. Just disappointing specially since we where not even planing to get takeout the waiter just told us we should because it was hot and we had our dog. Thank you for reading my ted talk. read more

This visit was much better than the first time I ate here last month. The handmade sausage is delicious way better than the bacon in my opinion today. Potatoes were crispy and seasoned well but not too much, eggs perfectly cooked. Tried the beignets for an after breakfast desert. They tasted like powdery sugary crispy biscuits you can dip into orange blossom honey we opted for the half order dish. Food came out a lot faster than my last visit here. Also noticed a lot more foot traffic coming in and tables filling up closer to 8:00 AM so I'm guessing wait times mid mornings. read more

I just had one of the best breakfasts in Columbia!!! We all had a fantastic meal with my whole party sharing bites. The biscuit beignets was a great appetizer. The Salmon Benedict was great along with a fantastic Huevos Rancheros!! My Son had Chilaquiles and Bourbon nut pancake's which were so tasty. My recent first visit was during the hustle and bustle of the Thanksgiving week. We were greeted, seated and everything was timely. The food was delicious and my unique mimosa was one of the best I've had. Our server was so pleasant and gave good tips about ordering options for first timers and regularly checked on us. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting which explains the number of people in and out steadily. Great place to brunch!! read more

I love the food at this place. No complaints ever food wise. They were packed as always but food was still fast and delicious. Great experience as always. Today was their soft grand opening which allowed customers to have a complimentary meal if they RSVP in advance and gave a donation to their cause. I love this place, and the food is wonderful. BUT. The weekend wait times are a nightmare and the waitlist is inaccurate. We have used the waitlist twice and both times had to wait an additional hour or more from our scheduled time to be sat. They're building a second location, and hopefully this resolves that issue because I do not eat here for these reasons even though I'd like to. read more
