We loved our server Matyas he was patient and kind and very helpful. I ordered the farmhouse breakfast and grits, which was the cream cheesiest grits I've had in a very long time. I requested sage plant based sausage, eggs scrambled hard, The grits didn't include goat cheese. I also had a biscuit. My one issue with the biscuit was I wasn't given anything to put on the biscuit. I wish I had been given some jam or jelly or butter, it was still really good though. I ordered an ice dirty chai, which had a little bit of a spicy kick to it and I loved it. I recently visited Tupelo Honey and unfortunately did not have a good experience. Our food was initially taken to the wrong table, which caused a significant delay in us receiving our meals. While they attempted to make it right, the situation was already frustrating due to the wait. On top of that, the receipt showed we were charged for two farmhouse breakfast platters and two Asheville hot chicken & ranch melts, even though we only ordered one of each. The extra items should have never been on the bill in the first place, and instead of correcting it properly, the receipt reflects confusing adjustments that make it hard to clearly see what was actually charged. Between the delay, order mix-up, and lack of clarity with the billing, the overall experience fell short. Definitely recommend double-checking your receipt before leaving. read more

Wow! I can't believe I've let this review fall by the wayside. So, I've been here a few times, from the time they first opened to a few times afterwards. I love the aesthetics. It's a pretty open space, and you can pretty much find a seat and make reservations online if need be. The staff seems to be pretty pleasant and kind throughout my visits. I came to share about my most recent experience, which was a lunchtime visit. We were seated right away. I ordered the chicken and gravy with a side of grits with shredded cheese and brussel sprouts. The chicken was delicious, and actually I got the gravy on the side, but it was pretty good as well. It had some flavor. The grits were really good. In addition to the shredded cheese, the grits come with goat cheese. It was a great creamy cheesy addition. The brussel sprouts are literally amazing. They are perfectly cooked and flavorful as well. I got the half bird bone in chicken with fried okra and green beans. My daughter got chicken and waffles. We had fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. The grits and sauce with the tomatoes was good. Best part of the meal. My chicken... no wait I'll go from bottom to top. Green beans had bacon in them with no hint of bacon flavor. I wouldn't recommend. The fried okra was ok. Not real flavorful but crunchy which I liked. My chicken was mid. Very mid. I wasn't pleased. I got a sweet spiced sauce with the meal and that good on the chicken but without it, it's a no for me. The sriracha chicken and waffles was a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. The chicken breast was most and the waffle was fluffy and fresh. I also had the fried green tomatoes. Panko-crusted fried green tomatoes over creamy stone-ground goat cheese grits and red pepper coulis, topped with fresh basil. One slice was firmer than I'd like but they are green tomatoes so they aren't normally soft. My son and sister have the chicken BLT and fries. My son raved about his sandwich. He took it to go and even later he said it was an awesome sandwich. Lots of chicken options. The dessert options looked good, but I was stuffed. Parking for this restaurant and the surrounding area was pay to park via an app, no meters. Met a friend there for lunch yesterday and had a very good experience. I had one of the featured spring salads with salmon (as well as a side of fried okra), and my friend had a chicken sandwich. Both were great: well prepared, tasty, fresh ingredients, etc.. JJ was our server, and she was excellent -- friendly, attentive, anticipated our needs and took care of refills before we needed to ask for them, etc. It's a beautiful space with lots of natural light and attractive decor. I had high hopes for Tupelo Honey, but unfortunately, my wife and I left disappointed. We placed our order through DoorDash 30 minutes before arriving. We paid for parking and understood that there might be a short wait, but we did not expect the entire process--from placing the order to receiving everything--to take approximately two and a half hours. When we arrived, we stood near the entrance for about five minutes before being greeted. During the extended wait, very few staff members acknowledged us or provided an update. A simple greeting and occasional communication would have made a meaningful difference. The bartender was the highlight of the service. After waiting so long, we decided to order drinks, and the bartender was welcoming, attentive, and hospitable. Based on our experience, the staff would benefit from additional customer-service and guest-engagement training. The restaurant itself had a great atmosphere and appeared clean and well maintained. I have no complaints about the ambiance or cleanliness. When our order was finally ready, it was packaged neatly. However, after reaching the car and checking the bag, I discovered that the gravy was missing. I returned inside and requested the missing side, but it took another 30 minutes to receive it. As for the food: * The goat-cheese grits and green beans were good. * The mashed potatoes and gravy were okay. * The smothered chicken appeared to be chicken tenders served with gravy. In my opinion, Zaxby's or Raising Cane's offers better value for this type of chicken. * The macaroni and cheese was not good, and I would not recommend it. * The salad was basic. * Our family also did not enjoy the fried-chicken platter, mud pie, or cheesecake enough to recommend them. Overall, the goat-cheese grits and green beans were the best parts of the meal. Unfortunately, the long wait, lack of communication, missing item, and disappointing food made the experience feel like a poor use of our family's time and money. We understand that delays happen, but sit-down restaurants distinguish themselves through hospitality, communication, and food quality. I enjoyed my strawberry salad with salmon and the chicken poblano soup. The chicken and waffles were a little bland and we needed to ask for syrup because it wasn't brought out with it. My daughter's strawberry french toast was our least favorite item. It was covered in too much strawberry syrup. The french toast didn't taste like it had egg at all in it, it tasted like white bread and it was all a little underwhelming and not really a great meal. Tasted more like a dessert i guess. We both had the chicken tenders. As a side, my wife had the Brussel Sprouts and I had the Parmesan & Rosemary Fries. Additionally we had their spiked lemonade and homemade biscuits to boot. Everything was cooked to perfection, delicious, and we had food left over to bring home. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic. She was not only attentive, but also very pleasant to chat with, and made us feel welcome. She also offered recommendations when requested.
