My call I made to the establishment
Becky C.

We usually get take out food after the farmers market on Saturday. My boyfriend usually gets the food. He was working today so I went to pick up the food I called in. They claimed that there was no call in order. I showed them the number I called on my phone and asked if it was the right number. It was but yet denied I called in an order. I believe the front desk girl (I spoke to a young girl who had to check with someone else to ask how long the order would take) just forgot to put it in to the kitchen and instead of admitting that they forgot, made me stand there and look stupid. I would've gladly waited if that was the case. We all make mistakes. But to make me feel like I was delusional instead of owning up to their mistake, doesn't sit well with me.

Loved this place. Nice homely atmosphere, quick and friendly service. The food was great. We stopped here on our way back from Myrtle Beach to Atlanta and would recommend everyone to do so. It's nicely tucked in a side road and with a lot of parking available..

My Reuben with the mustard on the side

We just touched down in Camden to spend time with family and we met them at Candy's after I asked for a lunch suggestion. There aren't many reviews but I knew my sister-in-law wouldn't steer us wrong. She got there before us and secured a table in their smaller dining area since the main dining room was full. Our server was so sweet to us. We were about ten people, including kids and the accommodated us wonderfully. Everything on the menu looked good and initially, I didn't want to order something too big because, despite being hungry, I didn't want to run the risk of not finish g my meal and wasting it or having to bring it back it the hotel. So first off let me say that was not an issue in the least bit. We originally picked the place because we wanted breakfast and was initially bummer to find out we missed their breakfast cut off. We were further hurt by the fact that they couldn't make us fries for the sheer size of the dining party but I understand. They want to ensure that they serve their food at its very best. Candy's offers good old comfort food; interestingly enough, the kind of food you might make at home that tastes better than what you've had at a restaurant. We were all extremely satisfied with our meals. I had the Reuben with a side of pasta salad. I was reluctant to order any side that had mayo in it but you can tell that their food is fresh and it almost tasted made to order. I also loved the fact that they offered a choice of mustard or thousand island dressing on the sandwich because I'm not a dressing person when it comes to my Reuben. I prefer mustard so I was HAPPY. Hubby had the Patty Melt (served with mustard on it...get that!) with potato salad (yum!). The grilled cheese, burger (made to temperature!) and turkey club were all enjoyed by some of the fam as well. I definitely want to hit them up for breakfast before we leave since we're here for a few days.

Hubby and I stopped in on our way back from Myrtle Beach. The place was only a few minutes off the interstate but it was like steeping back in time. The restaurant is a small industrial space with a nice outdoor seating area. The menu had lots of good choices and the ingredients were all fresh. Although made to order, the food came out quickly. Sandwiches are served with chips and a side. I was disappointed it wasn't house-made chips considering everything else was fresh made. They pasta salad wasn't my taste (I prefer a tangy dressing instead of a mayonnaise dressing) but tasted freshly made. Homemade blue cheese dressing was excellent.

Cozy!

We stopped at the cute little hideaway while in town for home hunting. The 2 servers were very sweet with great hospitality. I had the egg salad, and it hit the spot! Definitely recommend! We also went to the bakery attached to them. The icing was great, but not very personable people like Candy's place.

Looking forward to trying the food here.

Camden is halfway between my parents and my house and we often meet in between for lunch when we…read morehaven't seen each other in a while. This time, we stumbled upon this adorable drive in. It was everything we wanted...EVERYTHING. The restaurant was adorable, the service was fast, friendly and above and beyond. The cute cashier answered every question we had about even the simplest thing on the menu. And the food. The food was beyond what you would expect when you walk through the door. My dad got a slaw dog that came with chili, onions, and a bunch of other things on it. My mom got a hamburger all the way and french fries - She could only eat about half of it. My husband got a triple burger with french fries which he raved about. And I got the grilled chicken Philly with mozzarella cheese and grilled onions that was so delicious that i only wish that I'd ordered a second one just so I would've had more leftovers. The portions are perfect and a little on the larger side so we took leftovers home. You have the option with each meal for two sides. And you can either double up on fries or do like I did and get fries and a mini side salad. I would go here again and again. I've mentioned it to a few people that have also raved about this place as well. What a hidden gen and what a great place when you're in the area. You will not be disappointed!

Stopped into Blackmon's at 10:45am on a Saturday. That's not too early for a hot dog, I promise…read moreyou. But I may be the only one of that opinion as I was the only person there at the time. When I walked in, the phone rang with a to go order. The gentleman taking the order rolled his eyes a few times as he took the order. Glad they couldn't see that over the phone but not a great customer experience. He gruffly took my order and I went and find a table in the open restaurant. The lunch rush started once I sat and the phone was ringing consistently and a regular stream of folks came into the restaurant many greeting "Mr. Blackmon" at the counter. :/ My name was shouted and I went and grabbed my hot dog and tater tots. As others have acknowledged, the hot dog chili is REALLY watery. With an untoasted bun, I assumed that the bun wouldn't last two bites. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The pimento cheese in the bottom must protect the structural integrity of the bun. I was really pleased. The pimento cheese and the chili really tasted good together. The tater tots were nicely crispy but unseasoned. Though I enjoyed my meal, I think I'd go elsewhere if I return to Camden just due to the attitude of the gentleman at the counter.
