The service was so good. Our server was amazing- he literally didn't write a single order down and remembered it all. The food was good. My husband got the huevos and it was really good. And I got the chicken and waffles which was fine... I wouldn't get it again but it was still good.

Stopped in for Brunch on a Saturday with a group of friends and what a great choice! This place isn't fancy but the food is bomb! I was so glad my friends all let me nibble a little off their plate because every dish on the table was delicious. I went the basic route and decided on the mimosa pitcher with fresh squeezed OJ and the breakfast sandwich on a croissant... Yumm!! My wife got the Gambas Grits which was a bit on the heavy side but so very delicious. Another friend had the salmon and grits with caper(that's not the official name) and it was on the lighter side for grits and also very good!! Our food came out fairly quickly and the staff were wonderful! I will definitely be back next time I need a great brunch spot. Also, if you're a thrifter check out the cool thrift stores next to the restaurant. Sorry for the lack of photos! My food was so good I ate it before getting pics! Lol

Great ambience, love the self-serve coffee bar. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the food tasty. I'm hoping to stop in again at my next visit to Columbia!

We arrived a little after 10:00am and they was busy. We had about 5min wait, the building very small and outdated. The server was very pleasant, friendly and bubbly, we told her it was our first time and she went over the menu and let us know, if you order coffee there was a coffee bar to get all the coffee you wanted. When I entrées arrived they were very plentiful and delicious.

If you haven't had Cafe Strudel, you haven't had brunch in Cola! However, it's not brunch, until their freshly squeezed mimosas are involved!

Great brunch spot! Loved the outdoor seating! Service was great always! Bonus points for them carrying Mae's Lemonade!

Service is very friendly and quick. I was in and out within 40 minutes when dining in for breakfast before work. Plus they have a super cute coffee bar.

My bf wanted to come here for brunch with our friends since he's been here before and I must say, the food was amazing. I got an iced mocha to start and it was creamy and chocolatey. Perfect with my brunch. I ordered the brisket omelette because I wanted it last time but they were out of brisket so I thought it would be perfect to try it this time. I asked for the bbq sauce on the side because i was skeptical to try it on there already. So I poured some sauce on a little bite and oh man! The flavor was amazing. The smokiness of the brisket, the tangy bbq sauce, the creaminess of the omelette was delicious. The hash browns added texture to the omelette as well when I ate it together. Everyone said my food was the best out of all of ours. My bf got the salmon and grits with shrimp and his was really good as well. The salmon was cooked well and I loved the creaminess of the grits and sauce they had with capers. This was an amazing meal and the service was top tier as well. We will definitely be back with friends again or even a brunch date together.

Waffle with pecans and Turkey sausage.

The food was delicious! I had the waffle and turkey sausage. The waffle was not your traditional waffle, it was perfect and quite filling. I love the flavor and the pecans gave it that extra crunch that made it so good. The turkey sausage was the moistest sausage I have ever had-ever. Usually it is dry and tough, but this sausage was not. My server was spot on. I like the atmosphere, it was crowded when I arrived, but I was seated immediately. I like Cafe Strudel and plan on returning again.

No you can't. I wish. You can try calling to see if they can give you an estimated wait time. That's what we usually do.

When I walked in, I was amazed at what I saw inside, as it definitely was not what I was expecting (and I mean that in a good way!). I loved how dimly lit it was inside, which was complemented by miniature lights that were strung from the ceiling. Speaking of the aforementioned change of pace, I also appreciated how there were no TVs inside, which created an intimate atmosphere that focused more on conversing with your friends than watching whatever may have been on TV. Finally, as someone who always pays attention to a restaurant's artwork... I absolutely LOVED the artwork that was on display at Goat's. They had so many cool pieces of eclectic artwork, that you could almost consider it as much a small art museum as a restaurant. My favorite art piece is kind of hard to describe, but I guess you could say that it was of a God-like man in a suit controlling somebody who was playing golf. (I know, it's hard to describe, but like I said, it's eclectic.) My one (1) downside to Goat's, and the only thing keeping it from a five-star review, is that the bartender and servers were all pretty rude and arrogant. This is speculation, but maybe Goat's is one of those places that considers itself a "regulars" bar, and isn't very nice to people who aren't regular customers, but the three (3) employees I interacted with weren't all that inviting. All in all, Goat's was a great experience, and if it were an option, I'd probably give it something like 4.5 or 4.8 stars if I could. If the servers were a little less full of themselves, or maybe just in a better mood, I'd consider it a five-star experience. Nevertheless, Goat's was a great experience, I'll definitely be back, and I'd recommend that anybody stop in if they're looking for a unique experience in Five Points!

The food was pretty good overall, but my chicken salad sandwich was extremely disappointing. The croissant was very dry, and the shredded chicken combined with the consistency of the dressing was not at all what I expected. After only a couple bites, I left the entire sandwich untouched. What was even more disappointing was that when our waitress brought the bill, she clearly noticed I hadn't eaten the sandwich and chose not to ask about it. At this price point for lunch, I would have expected the situation to be handled a little differently. We sat in the covered outdoor area, which was nice, but there's also an uncovered outdoor section with older picnic tables that don't really match the vibe of a more upscale lunch spot. If you plan to sit outside, I'd recommend making your seating preference clear when booking.

We were taken to a room that was suitable for a private party. For appetizers we ordered the sweet and crispy brussels sprouts and the shrimp and risotto cake. Both were really good. For our entrees we got the Salmon Berry Salad and Braised Beef. I enjoyed my Braised Beef. It was super tender and the sauce was phenomenal. We had reservations and were seated promptly in a comfortable booth near the front windows, where I thoroughly enjoyed watching the rain fall while we settled in for dinner. Our server, Alexis B., was as sweet as could be. Friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the evening, she did everything she could to make our experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, things went downhill when one of my dining companions disclosed an onion allergy. To be clear, the issue wasn't Alexis - it was the response from management. What should have been a straightforward conversation turned into a surprisingly frustrating ordeal involving both a manager and assistant manager, neither of whom handled the situation particularly well. We ordered a roasted beet salad for the table, drinks including a club soda and Cola's 76, and my friends planned to split the hamburger. When the burger arrived, it consisted of a bun and a beef patty. That's it. No toppings. Nothing. When we asked what happened, we were told it was due to concerns about cross contamination. Now, I fully appreciate restaurants taking food allergies seriously. In fact, I encourage it. But there was a complete lack of communication, flexibility, or customer service surrounding the situation. When additional toppings and accompaniments were eventually brought out separately, there was no explanation, apology, or acknowledgment of the confusion. The entire interaction left a really, really bad taste in our mouths. As for my own meal, things were much better. I enjoyed a strawberry mojito, a half-dozen oysters Rockefeller, and the gnocchi caprese. The gnocchi was quite unique and something I don't often see on menus. The food itself was enjoyable. So, in the end, this review comes down to the service experience. Alexis was wonderful. The atmosphere was inviting. The food ranged from good to very good. But the way management handled a simple allergy accommodation turned what could have been a four- or five-star experience into a frustrating one. Sweet server. Cozy atmosphere. Sour management. Kind of like an onion, I guess!
