I'm a bit taken aback by the so-so reviews for this place. We have recently moved from Virginia, where there are way more food choices and definitely a higher standard. I love the food here and I love the people here but for the life of me I cannot figure out why they can't get their take-out orders correct. Wrong every time. Today delivered without the orange juice. Pancakes but no butter or syrup. Wouldn't that be standard for a pancake order? Maybe it's just me. Anyway if you get takeout don't leave the store until you investigate every item. If you have it delivered you're on your own. That is all. Absolutely terrible service. Server was terrible. Maybe it was her first day Idk. Very inattentive, slow, & nt very helpful. She wasn't even apologetic or offer to fix my food when it was messed up. My food came out when my fiance was halfway done with her food. It was cold, & I only ate the potatoes & eggs. That weren't even right either. Very pricey for what you get. We thought it was gonna be a good experience because we were offered cinnamon rolls for waiting, & they were very apologetic for that. It literally went downhill once we sat down. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. My husband ordered the bacquezo omelette and that was amazing...full of flavor! I ordered the southwest scrambler and that was very underwhelming...lacked flavor which was a surprise since it had chorizo. We waited an hour which is fine but then to have a dish you didn't even finish after a few bites is disappointing. Our son loved the bacon and cinnamon roll he ordered. Staff was friendly and manager/owner not sure which he was...he was so kind and friendly all while helping his employees through the busy time. Service was ok took a long time to get a straw, water and our food. We are foodies and love trying new spots especially breakfast! My wife and I ate there today for the first time. It was a mostly good experience. We were told there would be a 15 to 20 minute wait and we got a table right at 20 minutes. They took our order and our food arrived about 20 minutes after that. Eggs, waffle, bacon, sausage, hot chocolate, all good. Mostly very good service. Minor complaints: We had to ask for straws twice. Plus, I asked for a description of City grits and the describer didn't mention chopped tomatoes, which are a deal-killer for me. I would have asked for no tomatoes if I'd known. And finally, the prices seemed high for this area, except the place was packed which means the prices aren't too high for this area. The decor of this establishment was quaint and cute. The staff were personable and every one greeted us from the time we walked in, until the time we left, including 3 managers. Our serves asked my child's name and even remembered it throughout the service. The food was delicious and I really only have one "complaint". I ordered the "Lobster and Brie Omelette" and it was fairly delicious. The only thing wrong is it was a folded egg with the toppings on top. It would have been better if everything was mixed in. I could also tell the eggs weren't fresh and were from a carton just by the taste. This is very possible in any establishment, but since the toppings weren't mixed inside the omelette, it was very easy to taste. My mom and I decided to go here on a recent Saturday morning since we hadn't been since it opened. We got there around 10:30, and the wait to sit inside was about 15-20 minutes. We opted to sit outside to avoid the wait. It was a little hot, but I know they can't control that. Our waitress took a minute to come take our drink order then it took about 5 minutes for our drinks to come out. She was very slow about getting refills. She didn't come by from the time she dropped our drinks off until she brought the food out. Then we only got one more refill. My mom and I both ordered different versions of the French toast- each very delicious! The eggs that came on the side were good as well. However, I did not enjoy the sausage. It has a strong herb flavor to it. That was my only complaint. Overall, I would go back. However, I'd prefer a more attentive waitress. read more
