Taro smoothie that tastes a bit like Oreo cookies, surprisingly!

I ordered Fish Amok/ Amok Trei, which was delicious. My wife ordered Cambodian Crepe/ Banh Chav. Both were delicious, with the crepe being surprisingly light. I also ordered a taro smoothie, which the waitress said tasted like a bit like Oreo cookies. Turns out she was right. Pleasant atmosphere, good friendly service. A real gem of a restaurant. Definitely recommended.

My favorite pad Thai in Humboldt county!! It's the best!! Chicken is tender, lots of crushed peanuts, cilantro and beansprouts. Always so fresh!! It never disappoints.

When we arrived, we parked on the side of a brown building with no windows so we weren't sure if we had the right location. As we walked in it was pretty busy for a Tuesday night and they didn't have ample seating so we agreed to sit at the bar. They were extremely accommodating and as soon as a table for 5 was available they moved us. We orders shrimp rolls and cheese puffs for appetizers along with oolong tea and then we decided to do family style dining so that the five of us could try multiple dishes on the menu. We ordered the Pad Thai with beef, the house fried rice, the broccoli stir fry with beef, the Chow Mein with chicken and the sweet and sour fish. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh and we were waited on attentively. The owners were friendly and explained it was a family business passed down from the previous generation and we realized this is the only Cambodian restaurant in town! If you are in the mood for some delicious savory food and excellent service you have got to make room to give this spot a try! I'm sure you won't regret it!

I was in the area and consulted Yelp for a place to have dinner. The 4.3 average rating looked promising so I decided to give this place a try. There is a parking lot and street parking. The staff was friendly and the interior was nice. I ordered the egg rolls and chicken rice plate. The flavors and spice level were underwhelming. The pricing was expensive for what you get. Beware of the egg rolls they are tiny and in my opinion not worth the $8 price tag for three mini egg rolls.

Came here at 6 on a friday. Got the Yao Hon, red chicken curry, and papaya salad. The papaya salad was the best. The flavor was pretty good. Had a lot of pork strips in it. 5/5 The red curry was a more liquid kind. Tasted a lot of ginger. Had 4 large sized pieces of chicken in it. Charged $3 for a small bowl of rice ($6 for a big bowl) which is very pricey considering its just a bowl of white rice. The chicken pieces were moist but the overwhelming ginger flavor of the red curry was too much for me. 2/5 The Yao Hon was a first. Never tried it before. Came with a plate of veggies and some noodles on top. The flavor was a little lemony, peanuty, savory and mostly sweet. It was VERY sweet. Especially after the soup boils and the water evaporates a bit the flavor gets to be quite overwhelming. Eaten with the rice is very good but since the rice is so expensive and needed to be coupled with the soupy dishes is not ideal. 3/5 Service is standard. The business seems to be doing well since it is in a smaller city, however I probably would just stick to ordering the more standard dishes like papaya salad, fried rice, pad thai, etc.

Well, this was one heck of a surprise. Asian food tends to be pretty limited in many spots, even along the Pacific Coast. Most towns of any size will have a Chinese greasy spoon and sometimes a Japanese or Indian offering. But Cambodian is a bit more esoteric. Even in bigger metropolitan areas, finding Cambodian or Laotian cuisine can be something of a challenge. So it was with some trepidation during our passage through Eureka that Annie's was one of the most highly rated spots in the small city along the coast of (very) Northern California. Caution to the wind, we parked near what looked to be a pretty dilapidated building. It looked almost like it might be abandoned and I wasn't sure it was such a good idea to enter. But enter we did and it was transformative. The interior was filled with diners. Above comfortable and attractive booths were hung large paintings of idealized Cambodian scenery (including one of Angkor Wat). The contrast between exterior and interior could not have been more different. Receiving our menus on being seated, my wife ordered pho (it's not exclusively Vietnamese) and I ordered a lemongrass dish with chicken (not exclusively Thai!). Our food came out quickly. The pho was incredibly aromatic and tasted very much like a traditional Vietnamese version of the dish. The accompanying vegetables and herbs were quite fresh. My lemongrass chicken dish tasted quite similar to versions I had had in the past, but it had an unusual, thicker texture. It, too, satisfied. The cost of our meals were moreover quite reasonable. if Annie's were in San Francisco or Los Angeles, it would not necessarily be that remarkable, and that is the only reason why I haven't given it five stars. But for more small-town California, this was a first rate meal and a truly pleasant repast. If you find yourself in Eureka, make sure you go!

This is good, solid and traditionalCambodian fare. The soups are to die for. This time out we had the Chicken Lime Soup, House Fried Rice and the Cashew Stir Fry. All very well prepared and quite delicious.

I have eaten here twice and I love this place! I never had Cambodian food before coming here, but it is delicious! The seasoning is fantastic. The quality of food is tip top! Passing through Eureka with my wife and son on vacation so we decided to experiment with a new ethnic food. Thanks to Yelp we found Annie's. We loved it! Ingredients were fresh & tasty, service was helpful, informative, and prompt. We tried the spring rolls and chicken skewers for appetizers. They were very good but the entrees were fantastic - Lok Lak (tender beef with a tangy sweet dipping sauce), Cambodian Crepe loaded with ground chicken served on lettuce with sweet sauce, fresh basil, & peanuts, and a Noodle Salad with chicken, vermicelli, sprouts, and a creamy coconut sauce. Located on north end of town, a bit ratty on the outside but nice décor on the inside. About 10 tables with bar. Food was very good, hot pot available, most dishes between $8-12. Restaurant was empty at 6:30 on a Wednesday and full by 7:00. Service was above average, perhaps 15 minute wait. One downer is they don't have Cambodian beer, just Thai, Japanese or American. This is a good overall pick. read more

YUM! Wonderful, sweet service and delicious, consistently good food. Flavor explosion of FRESH with every bite. You can tell these people really care about their food and aren't just putting out slop for dumb Americans who can't tell the difference. You can taste the love and care! Definitely the best restaurant of its kind in Humboldt. After eating at Annie's, any other Thai/Pho/etc. place just pales in comparison. read more

Really this place is as good as ot gets. The house shrimp fried rice is as good as you'll find anywhere. The tofu crepe is like nothing I'd ever tasted.(messy but worth the mess) Also try #1 the Sautéed Beef with the egg on top. It's perfect. read more

We love this restaurant! The spring rolls are amazing, My boyfriend always orders the pho noodle soup and loves it. We tried a new soup today that was some sort of peanut flavored, served hot pot style. We really didn't care for it much. The broth was really sweet, not peanut tasting at all. Occasionally the service is slow but very well worth the wait! The price is great too! read more

Quick and easy, the food is yummy to be sure, but perhaps not the best I've had in eureka. For the price I think I'd want a little more. Friendly staff, no problem getting a table. The cheese puffs seem to be the home run of the menu. read more

Vegetarian spring rolls and vegetarian Cambodian Salad were both excellent. Very fresh and light. I ordered tofu on the salad and it was warm and plain. Surprising, but a great addition to the flavorful salad which was tart and onions added a welcome bite. read more

I love this little place. Finally after driving by it every day on my way to work I decided to eat here. I LOVE their house fried rice. They have a nice variety of authentic cambodian foods, which makes this place a great place to go for some variety in your dining cuisine. Great authentic Cambodian food. I had the shrimp spring rolls which were amazing and pad thai = excellent. Josh is a great waiter and likes to explain the dishes which was very helpful to my husband who hadn't eaten Cambodian food before. I think the atmosphere is homey and love that's it's not a stupid chain which you can find anywhere. We'll be back when we get back that way. read more

The service was kind, friendly, and efficient. I ordered the pad thai and fresh roll. The food was good and other can see why many people like it; however I would've preferred my food to be spicier. I ordered take out by the way so was unable to ask for spice condiments. I would rate the food 3 stars for my preference but due to the service I would give this a 4 star. read more

The Phnom Penh Combo is the best sandwich in Humboldt County. If you want to spice it up, there are several hot sauces/oils on the table. The pleah offered has very intricate flavors. I have yet to be disappointed with a dish. It's actually an Asian restaurant I would bother to frequent if it was located in the Bay Area - something I can say about only one other Humboldt County Asian restaurant. I have been to Annie's twice. First time I had some appetizers, the veggie spring rolls and veggie egg rolls, which are delicious. While I was there ordering my take out apps I saw a customer get a HUGE plate of steaming chicken chow mien. Visually it was mouth watering so next time I went to Annie's I ordered chow mien with veggies. Unfortunately I was disappointed. First of all veggies chow mien is more expensive than chicken! And it was 1/3 of the portion as that guy's order I saw. It wasn't even remarkable chow mien with tasteless pieces of tofu. I would recommend Hunan's on the Plaza's chow mien, it's tastier AND it's cheaper w/ a bigger portion of food. read more

Very average, nothing special, over priced smallish portions, and two of my pet peeves; frozen carrots and peas, and those nasty frozen sausages from S.E Asia. Wont waste my time again, although in discussing this topic, humboldt county just does not have much decent food. An update after nearly a year of regularly eating at this place. It was very good a year ago and it just keeps getting better. They've expanded the menu quite a bit, offering such staples as pad thai. The food feels healthy, and tastes excellent. The ingredients are always fresh and cooked perfectly. Everything on this menu that I have tried is delicious. Everything. By far this is the best asian-type food place in the county, far exceeding the other- somehow more popular options available. This place deserves a full five stars. read more

We really liked this place. I mean, come on, they serve Amok which was the main reason we walked through the door. We also ordered the sweet and sour soup which had a tamarind and chicken base along with tomato, papaya and spices, and the vegetarian crepe loaded with bean sprouts and jicama. We loved the soup but had to put a lot of chili oil and torn basil on our crepe for lack of seasoning. Still, the amok was a big winner. I've only ever had it in Cambodia a few months ago, but this was super tasty and included spinach greens wilted into the coconut milk fish goodness. We were very impressed and left full. Who knew we'd stumble upon a great Cambodian joint on a road trip to Eureka? Good stuff. read more

It also explains why the noodles are unusually dark brown in color rather than a light yellow or orange. It's a little lighter in the picture due to me adding lime juice. It's very salty and not enough sour, so I had to add my own lime juice to offset the saltiness. The meat is also pretty.. disgusting. It has chunks of chicken and dark meat instead of thin strips which is highly unusual for a pad thai dish and it's not good at all. Secondly, I got the tiger milk tea with boba and they completely forgot the boba! 70% of my drink is ice. I didn't realize until I got home. Maybe I'll try the pho next time, but I'd recommend skipping the pad thai completely.

Our friend took us there and he told us that he has gone many, many times, has tried something different from the menu each time and has yet to discover something he did not like. I think my wife and I are about to discover the same. Can't remember the numbers, or even the names of the dishes, but everything we tried was superb! We started with these cheese puff things that came with a sweet sauce. They were extraordinary. Then we mixed it up a it. My wife had a fried rice with shrimp, chicken, beef and an assortment of veggies. I had a beef and cashew stir fry. Both dishes were excellent! The place is nothing to write home about. Has some pictures of places in Cambodia (Ankor Watt I think) and some statues of Cambodian Goddesses. The service is excellent and they strive to meet your needs. We ordered pad thai and pineapple chicken to be delivered via door dash. What a HUGE disappointment! Our food was COLD! The pad thai was a solid mass of noodles and did not have chicken and only had a tiny amount of bean sprouts and peanuts. I could have made ramen noodles with a bigger portion than I got from this business. The pineapple chicken had 3, yes 3 chunks of pineapple and very little chicken! This wasn't worth the cost as the food was cold, the portions were VERY small and the cost was high! read more

I haven't even finished my main course yet and my girlfriend and I have already decided that this place is a hit. We both got spring rolls, I got the lemongrass veggies with tofu (awesome!), and she got the chicken and rice noodle soup that she really enjoyed. Also, and this is important: I've had a lot of Thai Tea in my lifetime and this one comes out the winner.
