    Flan Pie

My absolute favorite dessert in town, will drive 30 miles for the flan pie. Been coming to this bakery for the past 20 years, no joke. I will buy it for my birthday almost every year (sad that goes up in price every year but still good ). Do not know any other bakery that sells a flan pie (flan, yes but not flan pie). They sell slices and the whole pie.

I saw this place a few months back while looking for a good bday cake. It's got great reviews. I sent one of the guys to get a cheesecake but by the time he came back it was time for me to go so I didn't bother to taste it. This morning I remembered it's someone bday at work. Sigh. No time to go to Tropicana's. Time for Annie's Bakery Part 2. *calls their #* Me: "Hello?" Bakery: "Hello. Como puedo ayudar?" Me: "Do you take debit cards?" Bakery: "Hello? Hello?" Me: "Do you take debit cards?" *louder* Bakery: "Hello? Hello?" Me: "Acceptarmos debit cards, Senora?" *pulled that right out of my butt* Translation: "We accept debit cards, senora?" Bakery: "No. Cash solamente." I just butchered her language yet she understood me. Whew! ********* Red velvet cake ($2.00+/slice) is the bomb. It ended my 2 day carb free streak. I'll start again after this. It's got the perfect sweetness, not too much frosting, and I love the consistency. Tres leches ($24/cake) looked kind of cheesy with the color and flower frosting but I hope it tastes good. I'm not a fan of Tres leches but I'll try it once the celebrant cuts it up. Parking is pretty good at 9 AM. No problem. Service was friendly altho very slow. All in all, a good find in the Westlake area.

Chocolate Cheesecake! I had to take a picture from this angle since my dad couldn't wait & sliced off a huge chunk for himself!

I can't believe its taken me so long to write a review of Annie's Bakery Cafe! I've been eating their cakes since I was a young'n and this place is still going strong. I recently had their cakes THREE times in one month. That's how delicious this little bakery is and it tasted just as good as I remembered. My dear friend recently had an architecture graduation party and the cake was so awesome! Annie's bakery did not skimp on this 2 tiered masterpiece. The cake was architecture perfection. + The cake was also yumza! A perfect balance sweetness from the fruits, cream, and fluffy spongy cake. Their fresh fruit filled cake is usually my go to cake. So lucky of me to have re-kindled my love for Annie's Bakery. I just had their cheesecake last night and loved it! We ordered the chocolate cheesecake with chocolate dipped strawberries on top. =) I really cant eat more than one bite of the cheesecakes at the cheesecake factory. i feel like i'm eating a spoonful of sugar which definitely will not make the medicine go away! haha Annie's cheesecakes are perfectly sweet, light n fluffy, creamy, but still dense as a cheesecake should be. the cheesecake was dipped in chocolate, but it gave it a beautiful and delicious chocolate crust. It looks heavy, but its really the perfect balance... you will taste when you order it! I recommend them to all my friends + family and now luckily to all of you dear Yelpers. If you are ever looking to buy a cake/baked goods for any occasion look no further! This bakery is as sweet as as their cakes! s e r v i c e.. The staff is as sweet as their cakes and very helpful. Just let them know what occasion it is and anything specific you want/don't want on your cake! q u i c k t i p.. if you need a cake fast, get the cake with fresh fruit filling! t o t r y n e x t .. Red velvet and tres leches... yumzaas! w h a t i d i g .. Everything is so fresh & affordable. can't beat it =) + they have tacos.. seriously? this is like match made in heaven! Lunch & dessert l a s t w o r d s b e f o r e i f a l l i n t o a f o o d c o m a.. This bakery is gonna get me fat, but oh so worth it. =P

We had the popusa with beans n cheese, cheese, and beef - all three were DELICIOUS! :-) and yes the bakery was bomb - sweet pan dulce and the fluffy strawberry cake - gave me a feeling of euphoria! Very chill environment n perfect to kick back with a friend. Very friendly ppl too by the way :-)

Read my original review! Finally had the chance to stop in here after checking out MacArthur Park and a quick stroll thru the neighborhood. This is a small casual place with TONS of dessert and a couple of food options. This time, we got the strawberry shortcake again, AND decided to try the Mocha Cake which was YUM. I'd have to say that's my 2nd fave. Next time I'd wanna try the Mango Cake! They do not take credit card, only cash. LOVE THIS PLACE!

The three-star rating is for lunch we had last Friday. We did not have the bakery items but if we were to, the rating may change at some point. Anyway, we were at a nearby law firm when we had to run an errand to the bank and came across this place on the way back. We decided to have some lunch as they serve food here. My SO had a club sandwich and I had chicken enchiladas lunch platter. His club sandwich was adequate for the most part. My chicken enchiladas were decent overall yet the beans needed some salt added as they were bland. The green sauce did have some heat so I didn't need to add any more hot sauce to it. This location is considered a lucky retailer and does have notable winning tickets peppered around the counter areas. Anyway, if you need to eat some grub, it's good enough to fill you up.

Orange Blossom Almond Croissant -personally was disgusting, orange blossom was extremely strong. Too fragrant that it tasted like a floral bath bomb or soap. Some do like this but it wasn't for me. Tofu Cloud Croissant Toast -cream on top was pretty salted, to help balance the caramelized sugar that helps press the croissant into a toast. Overall, it wasn't wasn't bad but wasn't good and slightly too salted. Passionfruit Croiffin- texture of the croissant/muffin was great! Buttery, flaky and light. Passionfruit cream filling wasn't too sweet. I loved the tart passionfruit seeds. But you might want to scoop some out if you don't enjoy too much sourness. Elderflower Rhubarb Danish - way too crunchy, would prefer it to be crispy instead of a crunch. Filling was good, not too sweet. Black Sesame Parisian Flan -if you love black sesame, this would be right up your alley. Perfect sweet treat to bring to any auntie's home! Blueberry Tea Scone -not too dense. Surprisingly not too sweet even with the demerara sugar coating. It wasn't really crunchy but more sticky and caramelized from sitting.

I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off.
