Recently stopped by this donut shop to buy a few donuts for a medical group and they LOVED the donuts from here. I tried the jelly filled donut & it's simple, not to greasy & overall from the great feedback I'd say this is a good establishment to get your sweet tooth satisfied. The lady that helped me was very friendly & the place was clean when I came. Overall great donut shop

We already started ravaging the donut box before I took this pic.

Next day update::: I still ate the donuts and the dough is still darn good and soft and fluffy. I love this donut shop. Pretty good price and soft dough. Update:: got there around 12 today and got some cereal donuts. I thought they were $1.15 each but I don't think so? Donuts we're good and fluffy. 4 cereal donuts and 2 glaze. $9 - with 75 cent card fee. They had one Nutella creme one I wanted to try but someone ahead of me got it. The only thing was that the Cereal was rather stale. Yummy yummy! Fluffy, glazy and sweet little treats. Half a dozen for $5 and a dozen for $9. Lady was sweet, working on New Years. I decided to stop by after seeing the reviews to bring home a nice treat. It's located at Pico-Union across from my favorite Thai spot so I stopped by. They have a parking lot there. You can use card but it's a 75 cent fee. Anyway, donuts were very soft and the lady helping behind the counter was sweet.

.Don't believe the hype? Arrived at 6 pm. Paid in the meter out front to park. Guess what? No cookie monster donuts, no elmo donuts and no fruity pebble donuts available. Complete wild goose chase. I think I startled the guy hanging out in back chilling with his coffee and the paper, but as he told me, he doesn't make the donuts and seemed completely indifferent to my request for one of the donuts I had come for I'm bummed. I will attach a pic of the sad case, with none of the conversation piece donuts. Save yourself the trip!

I wasn't sure what to expect upon strolling into Pico Donuts even though I had no intention of doing so at around 5P on a Tuesday night, but what I found was a great little community spot with good donuts but even better service. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? At this point I've probably been to close to fifty donut shops in the LA area, and one thing that experience has taught me is that with very few exceptions, Donut shops are not crowded at 5P. Never. That being the case, you can imagine my surprise when I found Pico Donuts nearly bursting at the seams at that exact time with a combination of kids and adults alike. It would appear that Pico Donuts has done a hell of a job diversifying, and just about everyone there was asking for either a Starbucks-style coffee drink or ice cream. While there was only one woman behind the counter doing it all, she was a champ, and burned through the line with ease (and impressive Spanish to boot for someone who was clearly not of Spanish-speaking decent). I got my fruity pebbles donut after a brief stop at the ATM and was on my way. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $2 for a pretty decent sized fruity pebbles donut was a reasonable price, and the rest of the items on the menu were priced accordingly. Refreshing in what is becoming a world of $3-$5 specialty donuts in LA. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? I'll admit that the fruity pebbles atop my fruity pebbles donut were stale to the point of being distracting, but what was I to expect at 5P? Cereal freshness aside, this was a perfectly good donut. Single Star. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? This neighborhood needs a little love, and Pico Donuts is giving it exactly that. Star.

Great bread to icing ratio. Nice size and weight. Very dense and moist. The prices are reasonable but thebonly bad part is it's cash only.

Stopped by this morning to buy two dozen of assorted donuts and ran into these impressive specialty donut signs. (Oreo, s'mores, Cookie Monster, m&m's) They didn't have any made but the minute I asked , this kind lady came from the back and asked what I wanted as she would make them for me. 3 minutes and she had them for me.

Minus one star for NOT having a ham and cheese croissant with jalapenos. In the middle of Little Mexico, how do they not have jalapeno option on the ham and cheese croissant???? Baffles me! The donuts on the other hand were fresh, soft, moist and delicious. AND it wasn't even fresh out of the oven.

Great customer service! Love the donuts here. Will be coming back very soon.

tl;dr the Dutch crunch rolls highlight an otherwise standard lineup of hearty deli sandwiches…read more The Los Angeles sandwich scene ranges from terrific tortas to farmer's market-on-a-bun, but few spots have embraced the Bay Area's beloved Dutch crunch roll. These slightly sweet hoagie rolls are coated with rice flour, creating an addictively crunchy, tortoise-shell top. While hard to find, Dutch crunch rolls are the specialty at Ghost Sando Shop. This small sandwich chain (from the mind of NorCal native and former Chipotle exec Benjamin Sales) debuted in the Fairfax District, and it has expanded to Orange County and the Valley. Every sandwich at Ghost Sando sports a Dutch crunch roll, and the lineup has achieved TikTok fame. Briefly, Grand Central Market is a semi-outdoor industrial market turned upscale food court. The sky-high walls are painted white, and the concrete floors are slickly polished. Even during the day, only a few rays of sunshine enter through the skylight roof, leaving each vendor's neon sign to pop. During busy hours, expect foot traffic shoulder-to-shoulder through the narrow aisleways. Here, Ghost Sando has a central stall near the wide stairwell. You can't miss the bright teal paint or custom green neon sign. The walls are tastefully decked with hexagon tile and wooden slats. The sandwich production line is front and center, and staff members buzz around even well after the weekday lunch rush. Stools are pressed up against the long stainless steel bar counter, guaranteeing a seat for customers. My partner and I visited Ghost Sando for a weekday lunch, but our food was prepared relatively quickly. Immediately, I was shocked by the sheer density of the sandwiches. Rolled into compact cylinders, the weight could have fooled me into thinking they were bricks. The "Large" size was plenty for even a hefty appetite, but I can't imagine how anyone could tackle the double-topping "XX Large" portions. I also enjoyed the unique Dutch crunch loaf -- consider holding your sandwich upside-down to fully appreciate the crispy shell. Otherwise, the sandwiches were more standard than spectacular. The cold cuts are more like grocery store variety than premium deli, and the veggies are only a step above Subway. I preferred the mildly spicy Firebird to the warm-ish Pastrami Mami, but neither blew my socks off. The service is mostly disengaged, and the sandwiches run from $15 each. Reasonably, a sandwich can be extended across 2 meals. The sandos are mostly standard, but the Dutch crunch rolls are mildly addictive. While Ghost Sando is not a reason alone to pay GCM a visit, it is a filling and reliable bet for routine DTLA lunch.

During a…read morelazy afternoon after visiting the Pantheon in Rome, we had our first experience with All'Antico after taking a 5 minute walk down the road. They actually had 2 separate locations flanking the pedestrian road, so there were two long lines snaking out in opposite directions. While we were waiting in line, we bumped into a couple from Spain who were also visiting. They gave my wife some personal recommendations, advising we get the blood orange soda with our sandwiches. After getting said sandwiches (the La Paradiso), we nibbled on them while walking to Sant'Ignazio of Loyola Church, which is that cathedral where there's a mirror directed up towards the murals on the ceiling and a huge selfie line. Hot damn were those sandwiches good. The thinly sliced mortadella paired perfectly with that buttery, green pistachio spread. The only challenge for my taste buds was the mild oral trauma I sustained from punching through the crispy bread; your gums started to feel it by the time you devoured your sandwich. But we liked it so much that when we later took the train to Florence, we sought All'Antico again at their original location. I thought that would be my last experience with All'Antico (unless, of course, I came back to Italy). So imagine my surprise when later that year I heard All'Antico had coincidentally opened a branch in Los Angeles, although rather awkwardly situated in Koreantown. Even though we live 30 minutes away, we made the drive immediately. There was no way this remote All'Antico location, thousands of miles from Italy, would live up to the experience I had in Rome earlier that year. But I was mistaken. Not only is the taste spot on, but the bread they serve is actually chewier and removed the gum calisthenics I suffered in Italy. And yes, they also have the blood orange soda as well. It's a little weird their location is in Koreatown, but not a big deal; we'll usually do a bingsu run afterward. Just like their locations in Italy, All'Antico is small but they do have a small collection of bar seats, some of which overlook the staff as they're making your sandwich. Be mentally prepared though to take it to go depending on how busy it is. Parking sucks too; there's street parking only, but if you come on Sunday you don't have to pay. Every so often now, we'll make the 30 minute drive just to relive that slice of Italy we experienced nearly 2 years ago. Thankfully, not a lot of people recognize how good this place is yet, as the lines aren't crazy long like they are in Italy. For all the other Yelpers in on it too, let's keep it our little secret for now.

Lunch rush came around 1:30pm. The workers were kind and helpful, each working diligently to complete everyone's order timely. I ordered the Mamma Mia, Dante, New Yorker--with Dante coming out as my fav. Shoutout to their truffle sauce, light yet not overbearing! Loved to see how they only use focaccia that just come out of the oven, and they cut your sandwich's meat from the meat hunk on an order basis. Very fresh, never greasy. I thought the Dante and Mamma Mia could improve by adding just one more ingredient as a cherry on top, like a sort of nut (walnuts, pine nuts) or something that helps the sandwich spark. Would love to see a bit more arugula too. No public bathroom--closest one is probably Hmart across the street (needs a code). Parking is metered, but there's free neighborhood parking 1-2 blocks away if you're able to find a spot. There's a few seats (5-6) and a standing bar around the perimeter of the store. Also, the drinks are money but you can ask for a water cup for free.
