Came to Annia's Kitchen in El Monte for brunch with my friends and our kiddos on a beautiful Saturday morning, and I honestly don't know how I went this long without trying this place. This is definitely a hidden gem in the 626. Everything we ordered was a hit, but a few dishes really stood out. The chilaquiles with carne asada were one of my favorites. The carne asada added a nice savory flavor and made it a filling brunch dish. We also really enjoyed the carnitas with salsa verde. The carnitas were flavorful and paired perfectly with the salsa verde. The carne ranchero was another winner and something I would order again. What really makes Annia's Kitchen special, though, is the location and ambiance. Sitting outside on the patio while eating breakfast and watching small planes and private jets take off and land is such a cool experience. The kids especially enjoyed watching all the planes, which made this a great family-friendly brunch spot. On a beautiful Southern California morning, it's hard to beat this patio. Service was also amazing. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, and the staff did a great job taking care of our group. Going out to eat with a group of kids isn't always the easiest, so good service definitely makes a difference. Parking was super easy. There's a large free parking lot, so we didn't have to circle around looking for a spot, which is always a plus for a busy Saturday morning. Overall, Annia's Kitchen checks a lot of boxes: good food, great service, easy parking, family-friendly, and one of the more unique brunch settings in the 626. The airport view alone makes it worth checking out, but thankfully the food backs it up. Definitely coming back to explore more of the menu. I just wish I had discovered this place sooner!
Never knew about the cafe here until recently a friend invited me over. Very Tucked away but it takes up half the airport there. The staff is very friendly and on top of everything it is non stop movement in there. They have indoor seating right next to the lobby and patio seating by the runway and I recommend seating on the patio. You get to see pilots preparing for takeoff and landing it's definitely an experience. I ordered the chilaquiles and was asked if I wanted to add asada so of course I said yes. Not a bad place to have breakfast.
4/7/26 So was first time to this place but came with all the family and enjoyed sitting outside watching the planes take off and land . It's right on the small El Monte Airport. I unfortunately didn't get waiter name but she was amazing and got everything we needed. It did take a little bit to get our food because it was actually quite busy. Nonetheless the food was good. I had the 4 bacon Brekky with sunny side up eggs and toast and it all was delicious and came out nice and hot. We all enjoyed our food and had a good time . Will come back when visiting again. Enjoy !!!!
The country fried steak was delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the pancakes were just as good--even though they didn't make it into the picture! A great breakfast all around.
This is a great little hole in the wall with good food, good service, and good atmosphere. The restaurant butts right up against the runway area, so it's nice to sit outside and see the planes coming and going. Pretty eclectic menu with breakfast, lunch and some dinner stuff, American and Mexican food. I've had a couple of different things each time I've gone. Everything has been good. Today I ordered the chicken Caesar salad wrap with onion rings. It was delicious. Huge too. The wrap itself was toasted and overflowing so much so, that each bite kept falling apart on me. Next time I would order no croutons. The onion rings were delicious, very crunchy, good flavor. The waiter and the waitresses are so nice there, seriously everyone is. Totally recommend Annia's for breakfast or lunch.
We stopped by here for breakfast on a Friday morning and had a great time. The restaurant is located inside the airport. Plenty of parking. The food, service, and prices were great. You can sit inside or outside and watch the planes take off and land. Kids would love it!
Annia's Kitchen is such a delight! Especially if you have kids to entertain! I had no idea there was a brunch place located at the SGV airport, and now we've been multiple times. The kiddo loves watching the planes take off, and the food is solid. The brunch is a mix of american and mexican dishes, and service is always great. There's an outdoor patio, which is where I'd recommend sitting if you can. Surprisingly, the planes aren't very loud, so it isn't weird/disturbing to your meal either! On 4th Sundays of the month, the SGV airport also lets people go down to the tarmac to explore and see some of the planes (the outside of them). It's a neat thing to do, especially if you've just been curious to see! It's more of a quick walk around than anything, but adds to the fun of grabbing brunch here.

We sat outside but keep in mind that the departing planes can be disruptive to conversation. Fortunately, it's not too often but be prepared. I ordered the Chorizo & Eggs. Very tasty indeed. Came with rice, beans, tortilla (corn or flour) and salsa. I would order this again. Service is friendly but it is a busy morning cafe. Convenient for locals who seem to be the main patronage. Great for watching planes take off, esp for little ones.

They have indoor and outdoor seating with heaters provided when it's rainy or cold. When you're finished and ready to leave you take your receipt and pay inside.
This place was SO GOOD! we ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada and it was such a good shareable portion size. the french toast was AMAZING. i couldn't stop thinking about it. it's that good and it melts in your mouth. staff are really friendly and i love how it's both indoors and outdoorsy. if you are seated outdoors, you get to have a view of the small airplanes! great ambiance, would definitely come back again.
Came back this time and had to try the chilaquiles again but with red sauce. Not gonna lie, but i think the green is where it's at. Just gotta put up with the heat and you're smooth sailing. We also got the avocado bacon omelette, which my cousin enjoyed. My cousin and I sat outside on a gloomy day, so be sure to wear a sweater, cause you can definitely feel the breeze on the patio. Service was friendly as usual and we appreciate the attentiveness.

Lots of families with dogs. We were seated on the patio. Service was good. We ordered breakfast and I will say that the breakfast potatoes were delicious! Tons of flavor. I was disappointed with the biscuits and gravy as there was hardly any flavor. The sausage was yummy.
This place has always been one of our family's favorites. On a beautiful Southern California day, it is not just a meal but an event. To sit outside and see the San Gabriel Mountains while have a very delicious breakfast, it just doesn't get better than this. My wife and I shared the Chicken Fried steak and eggs [Pro Tip: I added mushrooms to my scrambled eggs] with biscuits and gravy and everything was so good. I typically leave the potatoes but these were seasoned so well that I gobbled them up. The service is great but of course the location and the views is what makes this an event instead of a meal. read more

Trying Anna's Kitchen for the first time because I grabbed brunch with my friend. This place is located inside the San Gabriel Airport. It's a casual diner ambiance. It is a bit loud because it stays packed. They offer table, booth, and outdoor seating. The service was fair. I felt it could've been a little better because our waitress only came to our table to check on us more and although my friend was getting his coffee refilled, they never asked if I wanted a refill on my water. My friend loves the Steak Picado con Huevos, substitute home fried potatoes for rice, beans, over medium eggs, and flour tortillas. He also added cheese on top of the potatoes. Since it was his favorite I opted for the same thing but with corn tortillas. The food was served hot but I was expecting it to have more flavor. The picado was ok. It was lacking spicy and was very tomato sauce forward. The meat was definitely tender and cooked to perfection. The beans were creamy but a little under seasoned. The potatoes is what lacked true flavor. They tasted like boiled red potatoes with no spice, no salt, no pepper, and there was barely any cheese on top of them. Over all it was a fair dish but it didn't scream out super amazing. Given the popularity of this place, I will be back to try it again. Every item on a menu isn't great, even at the greatest establishments. I know there's something I will fall in love with. read more

super cool spot and great food! been wanting to go here for awhile and glad to have been able to. i got the pilot's favorite omelet and it was so good, big serving and even came with a choice of pancakes, french toast, and some others (i forgot). really great deal for 17$. the potatoes were amazing and really everything was so good. staff were nice and the inside was very cute homey diner and outside seating has a nice view of the planes. read more
Been wanting to come here for a while, finally made time today. Hubby enjoyed a bowl of Menudo and I had a Chile Reno. The food was good, but to me OK, sadly, I compare everything to my mother's cooking. The service and location was excellent, we sat in the patio with the view of seeing planes, land and takeoff, very relaxing. read more
Came and met some friends for breakfast, first time here and was pleasantly surprised. Service was quick, and portions were big. Ordered a pilot omelet or some kind of plane omelet. Was tasty and filled with food. And the bacon was very crispy. The restaurant is in like a hanger looking building, that had cool views of planes taking off and random provenance around with cool pictures. read more

Date: February 10, 2025 I've been eyeing this place for a while now because who doesn't love lunch with a view ?! My toddler definitely loved it! Located at the San Gabriel Valley Airport, a super cute little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a nice menu with fair prices. Asked the waiter what was the favorites and one of them was chilaquiles, so I had to try since I saw a couple other recommends this spot for their chilaquiles. It comes with carne asada and you're able to switch the sides between rice, beans and potatoes (choose 2). I thought it was delicious! We came an hour before closing, and everyone was still super friendly and did not rush us at all. We will definitely be back to try other menu items and see the airplanes. The wait was not bad. 30 minute wait on a Sunday with a large party. They do not allow reservations on Sundays from what we were told. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside so that the kids could enjoy seeing the planes. Inside is spacious as well as the patio area. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with asada and let me tell you they were off the chain. They are pretty spicy so if you are not a fan of heat I would not recommended them because I love spicy and these pack a punch! I love the punch lol the rice and beans were okay. Chilaquiles were definitely the star of the plate. My fiancé had the French toast breakfast and my son had the jr pancake plate. They both enjoyed their food as well. My grandmother got the country fried steak and that was really yummy as well. Others at our table ordered a breakfast burrito and had no left overs lol Overall good food and a cute experience for the kids we will def be back! read more
I was really craving chilaquiles and this place looked super promising on Yelp! I had no idea this restaurant would be at an airport located in El Monte. I came on a Sunday so it was really busy! There was a lot of indoor and outdoor seats. I can see the charm of sitting outside to see planes fly in and out. The staff was extremely attentive and nice! The chilaquiles was just as I saw on Yelp. The portion is huge and the food was suuuuper yummy. I highly recommend to check this spot out! read more

Hands down, one of the best breakfasts I've ever had--and trust me, I take breakfast very seriously. So good that I'm inside their parking lot writing this review. First off, let's address the fact that this place is literally inside an airport. I actually drove past the entrance at first because, well, I wasn't expecting to have to file a flight plan to get my bacon and eggs. But once I got inside and found the patio, I realized I had unknowingly stumbled upon the best-kept secret in town. Sitting right on the tarmac, sipping coffee while watching planes take off? Absolutely unbeatable atmosphere. Now, onto the food. I ordered two eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast--classic, simple, but done to perfection. I'm ridiculously picky about my eggs (soft scrambled with cheddar, no exceptions), and they absolutely nailed it. Plus, they served it with a fresh salsa that I'm pretty sure was homemade, and it was next-level good. The hashbrowns? Crispy perfection outside, fluffy on the inside. The bacon? Delicious, though next time I'll ask for it a little crispier because that's just how I roll. It was unusually cold and windy, so my food started cooling off a little faster than I would have liked. Again, not their fault--blame Mother Nature. I knew it was time to pack it up when a rogue gust of wind literally snatched a perfectly crisp piece of hashbrown right off my fork and flung it to the ground. RIP, little buddy. Also, let's talk about the coffee. I don't normally drink more than one cup, but I had two because (1) it was actually really good, and (2) I was trying to warm up while my service dog and I braved the elements like some kind of breakfast-eating explorers. I just moved to South El Monte with my converted school bus, and let me tell you--I will be coming back here again and again. I honestly don't get why this place doesn't have five stars (or ten). It deserves all the stars, plus a bonus one for the epic plane-watching experience. read more
This place is located at the San Gabriel Airport and was a little hidden when we first arrived. We were seated near the window so we had a great view of the airplanes. I got the Menudo which they only serve during the weekends and my SO got the chilaquiles. Everything was delicious and the portions were pretty big so definitely good to share. The waiter was helpful when we were deciding on which dishes to get. I am definitely coming back here to try other brunch items! read more

My first time here trying this airport diner. Our server Ceasar was great but the food was not worthy of a return visit. We came for breakfast and the chicken fried steak and eggs looked like a good way to start the day. I asked for the eggs over medium but they were overcooked all the way to over hard. Biscuits and gravy were interesting as the gravy was under seasoned and if you can believe this, had a small chunk of tasty roast beef hiding under the biscuit. I am not sure how it got there but in all honesty a few more of those chunks would have improved that dish ten fold! read more

The good: My brother's girlfriend introduced me to this spot when she brought home tons of leftover food from here. Their portions are generous. This is not a plain breakfast spot but it is a plane breakfast spot. The pancakes were super big and fluffy. I had a steak omelette with tortilla and it was super filling and plentiful. I ate it in two sessions. It came with a salsa that added good heat. It had a great and fresh chopped chili texture. The meat was tender and not dry. The bad: I didn't get maple syrup to-go. The interesting: You can watch airplanes fly while at this diner. read more
