The inside of the store is modern and no interaction other than the self-service console to place your order; the the store was clean except on one of the online order machines had food smudge marks on it. I was greeted when I arrived, but it was perfunctory with no eye contact from the employees. They all seemed too busy to interact with the customers, and only focus on making cookies. The staff was very young, and not much emphasis on customer service. Sorry, Crumble cookies are overrated, and too expensive, and I can make better cookies at home for half the price. This will be my first and last visit to Crumbl.

Bottom Line: Very tasty and lovely cupcakes among other sweet treats…read more Gosh, I don't know why I haven't Yelped Blue Crab Cupcakes before now. Whenever I need a dessert for a special occasion I head to Blue Crab Cupcakes. It is a small shop in a shopping center that is past its prime but the cupcakes always shine. As far as favorite cupcake flavors - I don't think you can go wrong. My husband is more into flavors with a chocolate base like the S'mores or Triple Chocolate. I prefer flavors with a vanilla base like Funfetti and Snickerdoodle. Blue Crab Cupcakes has the best vanilla cupcakes that I have ever had. Never in my life would I have thought a vanilla cupcake could be so sophisticated and absolutely delicious. Blue Crab Cupcakes offers regular flavors, seasonal flavors and even some gluten free cupcakes. I've also tried other desserts from Blue Crab Cupcakes like cookies and macarons and go figure they were also decadent and carefully prepared. The staff is always friendly and parking is plentiful. Located close to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Blue Crab Cupcakes is a perfectly fitting name but as someone who is Maryland bread and crab fed, I do wish their logo more authentically resembled Maryland's beloved callinectes sapidus.

I decided from all of the lovely pictures I saw on IG that this bakery had to bake some specialty cookies for me. I contacted the bakery to place an order. The owner was extremely professional and wanted to make sure my vision came to life. We discussed via email what I wanted and I even shared a few pictures that would assist in the decorating aspect. I made an initial deposit to proceed with the order. In the mean and between time before the party, I decided I should probably taste their goodies. I went to the Crofton Farmers Market, where SBL usually is a vendor. I ordered a few cupcakes and decorated cookies. Whew! They were all excellent! I knew I had chosen the right bakery for my specialty cookies. Side Note: they have a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake that's to DIE FOR! On the day of the tea party, I stopped by the business to pick up my treats. Fun cake pops, chocolate chip and sugar cookies were all in my order. SBL is a home based bakery, so I picked my order up from the family home. The woman that met me at the door was so nice. Just a pleasant encounter from start to finish. The cookies themselves were absolutely perfect! My vision came to life! They not only looked beautiful, they were very delish! I'm going to be honest, the cookies were so pretty, I didn't want to eat them. Especially the wedding gown one. (Wink) Supporting home based bakers, like SBL is very rewarding. I just find them to be more personable and willing to go the extra mile. I'm already planning to make another specialty order in the future.

My experience with Leah was a 10/10 from start to finish…read more I submitted an order request using her online system. I immediately receive an automatic reply, letting me know that my request was received and that I could expect to hear back within 2 to 3 business days. Leah exceeded that expectation and actually got back to me within 24 hours. In her response Leah explained her plan and vision, based on the add-ons that I wanted, and even showed me how an element of our theme that I did not know how to incorporate could work on the cake. She sent back and forth examples to really narrow in the vision and provide guidance. Leah even went above and beyond to accommodate an early pick-up time since we were heading out of town with the cake. She was extremely accommodating to our special request for the cake details and the accompanying cupcakes we ordered, and consistently professional and responsive the entire time through. The final product was gorgeous and DELICIOUS. All of our guests (and us) were raving over and over about how good the cake was. So moist, great flavor, and just perfect. The cupcakes were also delicious. I absolutely loved working with Leah and will definitely be a loyal repeat customer for all of my cake and treat needs.

I contacted Morie by email late in the evening and within a few hours she had responded. She was able to fill my specialty order at the last minute and pulled it off wonderfully! Now, let's talk cupcakes! These cupcakes were amazing!! The "apple of my eye" was extraordinary!! The detail that she put into them is unlike any other...the little apple bits inside the actual cupcake, a wonderful surprise! Now, Morie was kind enough to bake a flavor that is not on her menu at my request. The "pineapple upside down cake".....with the pineapple on the bottom...yeah, I know, typical for an full size cake but definitely pleasantly surprised to find one on the bottom of the cupcake! I am so glad to have found That's So Morie and will definitely be referring her to my clients, friends, family and colleagues. She pulled through in a pinch on a last minute request with all of the love that only a homemade dessert could offer and I am so grateful!
