I'm honestly blown away--again! This is the second time I've ordered a cake from them and it was pure perfection. Every little detail was stunning, like it was made with so much love and care. And the taste... absolutely delicious! You can tell they put their heart into their work. I couldn't be happier, and there's no doubt I'll keep them in mind as my first option for every special occasion. Thank you Blue Crab team for making something so beautiful and memorable! read more

Such a cute place and a great stop on the way from DC to the Delaware beaches! I really liked that almost all of the cupcake flavors were available in full size or as minis- it was nice to be able to try a bunch of different flavors as minis. There were also other yummy-looking treats like chocolate covered caramel pretzels and chocolate covered Oreos, and cute bakery-themed merch like bracelets and sprinkle headbands. I saw that there are a few cupcake flavors that rotate monthly so I'm looking forward to try some new flavors next time I stop! read more

I've heard so many rave reviews about Blue Crab Cupcakes, so I was excited to finally try them at a wedding where I had the chance to sample several flavors. Unfortunately, they were just so-so to me. The only flavor I really enjoyed was the lemon--it was bright, fresh, and definitely the standout. The chocolate cupcakes, on the other hand, were a bit dry and not worth the calories in my opinion. If you're looking for bougie cupcakes in Annapolis, this might be the spot for you, but for me, it just didn't live up to the hype. I can see why some people like it, but it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit. read more

Bottom Line: Very tasty and lovely cupcakes among other sweet treats. Gosh, I don't know why I haven't Yelped Blue Crab Cupcakes before now. Whenever I need a dessert for a special occasion I head to Blue Crab Cupcakes. It is a small shop in a shopping center that is past its prime but the cupcakes always shine. As far as favorite cupcake flavors - I don't think you can go wrong. My husband is more into flavors with a chocolate base like the S'mores or Triple Chocolate. I prefer flavors with a vanilla base like Funfetti and Snickerdoodle. Blue Crab Cupcakes has the best vanilla cupcakes that I have ever had. Never in my life would I have thought a vanilla cupcake could be so sophisticated and absolutely delicious. Blue Crab Cupcakes offers regular flavors, seasonal flavors and even some gluten free cupcakes. I've also tried other desserts from Blue Crab Cupcakes like cookies and macarons and go figure they were also decadent and carefully prepared. The staff is always friendly and parking is plentiful. Located close to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Blue Crab Cupcakes is a perfectly fitting name but as someone who is Maryland bread and crab fed, I do wish their logo more authentically resembled Maryland's beloved callinectes sapidus. read more

We LOVE this place. The cupcakes are seriously the best we've ever had. Unique flavors and all so good. The staff is friendly and helpful. We always serve to out-of-town guests. read more

Great cakes and cupcakes here, especially chocolate and red velvet. Very rich and tasty. Prices aren't ridiculous either. For a shop thats a bit tucked away it's definitely a great place to visit if you're near the bay or live in Anne Arundel. I live in Savage, so going out in this direction is a bit of a drive and somewhat out of the way of my normal driving patterns but it's so worth it. 5 stars read more

I'm a fan of Blue Crab Cupcakes! Their cupcakes are so moist and fluffy, and are such a wonderful treat! Their flavors rotate, but I really love their Key Lime and their Lemon Blueberry the best - if you're a citrus fiend, these flavors will blow you away! I love that they have two sizes - regular and mini. Besides regular cupcakes, they also have vegan and GF options, cake pops, French macarons, pull-apart cakes, baby smash cakes, and chocolates. The staff here are super friendly and welcoming, and their cupcake boutique is so cute and well-decorated. I wish I lived closer to this place, but more the reason to go out to Annapolis more often! Plenty of parking in the plaza lot. +get the Key Lime and the Lemon Blueberry cupcakes! +delicious cupcakes! +GF and vegan cupcakes available! +friendly staff! +plenty of parking in the plaza lot read more

Amazing desserts and cupcakes. The cinnamon rolls are delicious and worth the trip. The snickerdoodle bars are amazing as well.

Skip the Macarons!!! First off .... love, love, love the mini cupcakes!!! They do not disappoint! That being said do not waste your money on the macarons. Spent $60 on them and they were stale with some of them being so stale they were actually tough to bite into and very gummy to chew. Other local bakeries in Annapolis specialize in macarons and are well worth the price. These were not worth $2.50 a piece!! read more

Anytime and every time I have to cross bay bridge this place is a must stop. My first time having them was last month when I had to bring my baby girl to a follow up appointment for her pediatrician. She was only in Kent Island that week so we made the trip. I remembered seeing this place as we were going to Ocean City so it was a must to stop while I was out this way. Red Velvet- BOMB Snicker Doddle- BOMB BOMB Key Lime- DELICIOUS (according to hubby) Chocolate- Lovely And as of today the PEACH COBBLER cupcake was DEVINE. The icing to cake ratio is just right and the moist level is literally the best I ever had and tasted to date. Easily my top pick for cupcakes don't matter how far it is away!!! read more

Delicious and pretty cupcakes! We discovered this spot when we were in the shopping center for a pop-up kids consignment shop, which partnered with Blue Crab Cupcakes by offering shoppers a free mini cupcake to be redeemed at the cupcake shop across the parking lot. My husband got the Boston Cream mini cupcake, plus we ended up purchasing two full sized cupcakes. My husband got a funfetti cupcake (since he is a kid at heart). I was happy to see they had gluten free options since I have celiac and cannot have gluten. The staff changed their gloves to take my cupcake out of the case, which was a good practice to avoid cross contamination with gluten. I got a strawberry gluten free cup cake and it was SO good. The cake and the frosting were perfect. I was very tempted to buy more, but refrained and will just have to go back for another visit! read more

not helpful when you are in a bind and need a cake quickly. Had to beg for them to put pink icing on a cake they hadn't even iced yet. Refused to write happy birthday on it because I didn't order three weeks in advance. I have gotten all of my cakes and sweets from here for years. I'll never be back. I understand it was my fault for not ordering according to your rules. i mean seriously 13 letters. Never again. Too expensive to not have good customer service. Dont waste your money here. Update the owner called back and reprimanded me again. Never go there read more

I have to update!! Went back on December 30th, service was definitely better. They were polite and smiled and were very helpful this time! We also went in the morning so it was not busy so there were plenty of cupcakes to choose from! read more

Wow ! I've been obsessed with this bakery and their snickerdoodle batter for more than 3 years. My daughter had a birthday party and we decided to go all in since COVID started. Carrie at Blue Crab was amazing to work with and my dreams come true for my little's birthday. We decided on basic vanilla and chocolate fudge so it would complement the icing. And oh my goodness, I'm so glad we branched out. The chocolate and vanilla were divine and so many parents were blown away! When picking up the cupcakes, they made sure it was exactly what I wanted and even added extra glitter for me. I will keep coming back and if you haven't been here yet, they do walk ins for cupcakes, mini cupcakes, macaroons, and a bunch of other things. Tip: the mini cupcakes are a great way to try all their flavors and their seasonal ones! read more

Great and consistent. I've gotten my daughters birthday cakes from here the last few years and they are always so gorgeous and delicious.

The cupcakes were ok, nothing too exciting. Maybe they are good when you order them as a catering, but I walked in and tried one of each of the different flavors and they were cold and dry as if they had been sitting in the fridge overnight. Which would be fine if they weren't so expensive. The staff was nice, and the restaurant was clean, the cupcakes were just a let down. read more

Called a week ahead to see if they could do mini cupcakes for a school bday party. Was told they could but I couldn't do any custom orders because it was short notice. Told them not a problem, my little one wanted plain chocolate and vanilla with sprinkles and asked if I could pick them up before opening time which is 11am. I needed to get them at 10:30am. Lady on the phone said no problem, there's usually someone here at 9am anyways. Cut to a day before and I call to make sure I could pick up my order 1/2 hr before opening and to make sure all was good to go with my order. Was told yes, no issues see you tomorrow. I get there at 10:25am and see another customer with her van parked out front, inside the store. I park and walk in to get in line. The employee very loudly and rudely says to the customer already there, " we have people walk in all the time even though we are not open until 11 am." I pay her no mind as I am fully aware that I was told I could pick up early and surely she would not be talking about me in such a rude condescending manner. I walk to the fridge and see a mini cake that goes perfectly with my childs bday theme and grab it. As the other customer exits this employee very rudely says to me " Can I help you with something?" I said " yes I am picking up an order for and give my name. She looks me up and down and says " well you know we're not even open until 11am." At this point I'm pissed off because why on earth would she assume I'm just walking in IF IM PICKING UP AN ORDER!!! Who orders a cake/cupcakes and comes for them before knowing they will be ready?? I informed her that I specifically asked to come early and she again condescendly says " well I was just making sure because we have people walk in all the time." I let her know that I had called the day before to make sure and she has the nerve to ask who I spoke to!! I told her it was a female I didnt get her name. Now I'm wondering if this is the same interaction she had with the customer that was there before me because she was not speaking to her in that tone. Really felt discriminated with a touch of racism from her. She leaves and comes back and now mysteriously can not find my order in her little book or in the back. Thankfully another sweet employee had made her way to the front and informed her to look in the custom order fridge. What do you know, there is was!!! Don't know why it would've been in there either since I was told I could not do a custom order. Honestly this experience is enough to make me not want to return. Their baked goods are good but I have to go out of my way to get to the store. The owner should really hire more customer friendly people as most of the time people are picking up goods to celebrate a nice event. Until then, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. read more

Walked in here while we were waiting for the hobby shop to open, and they had excellent customer support and excellent treats. We got a mini cupcake each. Each cupcake has a filling. That's their "signature" thing. The store is bright and has beautiful things everywhere. There was chocolate covered preztels, unicorn horn pretzels, beautiful cake pops, beautiful cakes made to order, unicorn cakes!!!, and macroons (one even in fruitypebble). We enjoyed our treat, I would definitely order cakes or cupcakes from here. The Easter spread they had looked amazing, and the customer service was fabulous. We will be back! read more

BCC directly contributed to the success of our daughter's wedding reception. They were easy to work with, from the initial meeting through the event itself. On reception day, they arrived in plenty of time to set-up an enticing display which got the attention of the guests and especially the kids! Their selection of cupcakes is quite extensive, featuring some real standouts - as our guests told us repeatedly. There was not a clear favorite, but everyone had a couple of favorites they raved about. Many of our guests asked who the cupcake wizards were, as people are always looking for something extra special for events - large or small. read more

Just found this place. It is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall in Annapolis and would not have ever known it was there if it wasn't listed in my HappyCow app. The business is very inviting and clean. They have nice photos and display case refrigerators for all of their offerings. I am so happy that they offer 4+ different types of vegan cupcakes. They apparently launch new flavors each month. Today they had Chocolate Fudge, Banana Coconut, Vanilla and Neapolitan. The stay was very inviting and pleasant. The follow COVID safety measures. I look forward to coming back to try new offerings and possibly using them to cater events. You definitely wed to stop by and check them out. They have full sized and mini cupcakes as well as cookies and do make cakes to order. read more

I should start off by saying I am a total cake lover! We had no special occasion, but I had to try this bakery since we live so close. I was so happy that we did! We tried the vanilla vanilla, snickerdoodle, chocolate fudge, and coconut cupcakes. They were sooo delicious, moist, and the buttercream is so dreamy. It was everything I had hoped it will be! I was originally interested in Blue Crab Cupcakes by the beautiful kids birthday cakes, wedding cakes and other specialty cakes. The decorating was so amazing on all of them! These are the absolute best cakes and cupcakes! They are incredibly cute and taste delicious! They even have vegan and gf options!

Don't walk.. run to this bakery! They have the most delicious and moist cupcakes I have ever eaten! I'm vegan and was delighted to find that they have vegan options. I've had some good vegan cupcakes in my day but these ones are by far my favorite.. during my 3 day visit to MD, I had dessert from here almost 4 times.. whoops! I had their vanilla vegan cupcakes which were to die for, they were so fresh and light! They also custom made a vegan blueberry lemon cake for our wedding shower and the guests went Gaga over it, no one could believe it was vegan. I can't wait to come back, this place will be my first stop! The customer service is also top notch. read more
