I had been using them for my Maltese for years! Then we got our Jack Russell from the pound. I took her to a few other places--getting extra charges, before I had to inflict her craziness on Main Street; who, btw, could handle her. Needless to say, I was so, so sad to have to find a new place for my dogs. I found Animal Clipper on Yelp. I have been with them for about a year. They were a perfect match! After everything we went though to find my Jack Russell a groomer, they were perfect. They could handle her! After a bath with them, my Jack Russell's hair is completely shed proof. I have 3 stars do to the job completed by Derrick. The other staff was very friendly and inviting. While filling out the initial paperwork Derrick listed some options for the days bath which I didn't here because I was filling out papers. I did say on not sure what they offer in a basic bath and the response was "what I just listed". I chose to not have him repeat and just asked that he have a standard bath and for them to make sure his nose gets cleaned and have paw balm applied to his nose. He gets a crusty layer on the top of his nose that our CA groomer taught me to manage with paw balm that they applied after a deep scrub. Derrick's response was that he wasn't sure if they have that. Of coarse my thought was how can a groomer not have it, bit moved on and asked him to just clean it all off and I will apply it when I get home. Picked up my doggo who was clean and his nails were trimmed kinda short (Derrick did say my dog didn't like the dremel). His nose was another story, it was still crusty with a thick layer of gunk on it so that was disappointing. To be honest I kinda had a feeling that he wouldn't do it do to his lack of reaction making me feel like he didn't really want to. I may go back one more time, however I will request a different groomer to see if the experience is better before completely writing them off. It is just sad because I take my dog in for grooming mainly for the nail clip and nose cleaning and expect a better clean than I can do myself on our tub with a $7 bottle of dog shampoo. I ended up taking my dog home and soaking him in the tub, applying paw balm and scraping the gunk off the nose after is paid bath. read more

I just took one of my dogs there to get groomed and we both had a great experience my dog is a Rottweiler weighing 110 pounds big guy but he's very friendly I was nervous taking him in there but they made me feel very comfortable and took great care of him I listed a couple of concerns I had with his nails before his appointment and they were able to help me. We have been customers for over two years now and have loved the work they do here. The grooming staff is very friendly and attentive. I make a big effort to get to this store, drive time and juggling little kids, because I have loved how my dogs are treated and groomed here. But after today, I regrettably have to find another groomer to work with. To be fair I have had trouble making it to a 9:00 AM sharp drop off time in recent months. We've had to reschedule for various family emergencies where I couldn't get there at a workable time, since I am a good distance away from the shop. Today was one of those bad days and I showed up anyway since they ok'd for me to come in over they phone. My son ended up having a meltdown while I was trying to leave, one of my dogs got tangled up in the car, so it was a nightmare just trying to get there and I was already flustered trying to get to the shop, already running late. I didn't continue to call them again because I was flustered and just trying to get there and not be on my phone while driving. I was very grateful that they were still going to take both my dogs and I was planning on leaving a big tip for the trouble of waiting for me. They took my dogs back and the owner at the desk proceeded to lecture me on how important his time was and that I was causing him and his groomers to "loose commissions." I'm not totally sure what he meant by that, but that's a side issue. I apologized and acknowledged his frustrations with me.I acknowledged I was in the wrong and I truly didn't like being late just as much as he did. Even after my apology, he kept lecturing me about how I needed to respect his time and threatened turning me away for future appointments if I didn't change. Wow!! I felt belittled and he went way too far with his repetitive grievances with me. I was fighting back tears it was so stressful. By looking at other reviews, it looks like this isn't the first time this has happened. To the owner: Again, I apologize for the stress my personal issue getting to your shop today negatively impacted your groomers. I was going to try my best to make it right with them. Maintaining positive relations with those I work with is important to me. But because of your direct attitude towards me, they loose and I, a longstanding customer of over two years, will not be coming back. I'm really sad and disappointed that we have to go somewhere else now. I hope in sharing my heartfelt concerns with you and other people that this won't happen again. read more

We've brought our 8 month old Goldendoodle here twice now, and they've done a great job both times. We love leaving his fur fluffy and longer than most other doodles, and they're always so accommodating and understanding about exactly what I want. I have gotten tired of washing my dog in the tub! Got tired of the hair, me getting soaked, and him shaking the water off of him right after walking out the door into the living room!!! So I decided to fins a self serve dog wash. Animal clipper is close to home I was pretty impressed. They have a few options for bigger dogs for baths. The girl got me all set up and I went to town, I was so happy I didn't have to worry about the hair in the drain, and I didn't have to bend down the whole time. They provide everything Brush to take off loose hair, soap, cotton balls for ears, and a grooming brush ( I would suggest bringing your own soap, stuff here seemed totally watered down). Afterwards they have a drying room where they have big shop vac looking things that blow warm air, on the way from the tub to the dry room Paisley decided to shake water off him and it was nice to know Its not my living room.. HAHA. overall it was great... It was a tad overpriced at 15 dollars seeing as another location close to home charges 10. Other then the price it was a huge relief and Paisley no longer smells like a 15 day used unwashed sock that covered a foot with athletes foot. HAHA! read more

We had our first experience with this local company and were very pleased with the staff and the grooming. We had an 830 am appointment for both our cocker spaniels and the groomers came out immediately and introduced themselves to us and our dogs. Very friendly and gracious. They did an assessments of each animal and clarified what services we wanted and gave us an approximate pick up time. When we returned 3 hours later our little buddies were spic and span head to toe and their teeth had been brushed. Lots of tail wagging and happy faces all around at pick up. I found their prices to be reasonable and they accepted a debit card purchase. There is also a DIY wash area or you can drop off your dog and they will wash for you. Very friendly staff, clean shop, the dogs were well taken care of and clean and happy at pick up. We will make this our new headquarters for bathing and grooming. read more

This place was great! I have 2 dogs both large. One is very old .They have 2 different tubs. So my older one could use the walk in tub. The owner Dan was extremely helpful! I couldn't be more pleased with the service my family received here! We brought our black Goldendoodle Deacon in yesterday for his summer cut. My husband insisted his beard be kept long. They did exactly as we asked. Unfortunately, it wasn't very proportional to the length of the fur on his body which my husband had asked be cut short. My husband was too shy to say anything when he picked Deacon up and asked me to bring him back today to see if they could trim Deacon's beard a little more. They told us to come right in and trimmed his beard the moment we got there. Richard was our groomer and he was so friendly and accommodating! They were incredibly helpful, patient and dog savvy with my boy as well as patient with all my questions. I've since taken in my standard poodle and bichon to get trimmed and they were patient with those boys as well, making sure I'd not only be satisfied, but happy with the trims - I was very happy and so were my boys. I have to say this was a very poor experience for me at this location. I made an appt. two weeks in advance and show up the day of my appt. I said Im here to bring my cat in for his appt for washing cutting nail trimming and putting caps on my cat, which I know is $25.00 extra. The lady says to me well I'm not experienced in doing caps on cats nails and we won't be doing that today. I said I specifically asked if you could do that before making my appt. They said our girl who does that is not with us anymore. She then says that I don't usually do cats so we'll what we can do for you today. I said what? My first thought was why didn't you call me and tell this was the situation so I could reschedule. And then you are kind of rude to me and say you don't ever hardly work on cats. Why would say that to anyone? Plus I drove 12 miles one way and was going to go to another appt while my cat was being taken care of. I then had to drive home and had to cancel my other appt. My husband and his family have been taking their dogs to this groomer for well over a decade and I definitely understand why! They absolutely love all the dogs that come through their door and they always remember their names when you come back. We take our 15lb and 50lb pups there once every three months or so for $84 and they always come back to me SO HAPPY with either a bow on their head or handkerchief around their neck (which I always love:). I always give the groomers 100 and ask that they keep the change and they are always very grateful for a tip which is refreshing because these days everyone and their mom expects a tip for everything but this place deserves it 100%. read more

After seeing a news report about a dog being stolen by an employee of Animal Clipper I felt bad for the dogs owner. I also felt bad for the owner of this business. Their are crappy people everywhere and in my opinion it was not the owner of the business's fault. I also never knew there was a do it yourself dog wash near my house so I took my dog there. I have been twice now and the owner is very nice, he knows my dogs name and my name, the place is clean and the owner is very helpful bringing shampoo towels and brushes. Both visits one groomer has come out to say hello to my dog and give him love. I like this place, I like the owner and I find it unfortunate that people are slaughtering him and his business on social media and review sites. I hope the owners of the stolen dog get her back and I hope justice is served on the two people who actually committed the crime, the owner of Animal Clipper isn't one of them. read more

Took a chance and hoped I would get a grooming appt this week for my newly adopted boys, littermates, bros. Dan booked us in that noon. Picked up my boys, grooming was exceptional.
