12oz Ribeye, Blistered Asparagus, Creamed Spinach, Roll with Butter, & Water.
    Missy B.

I've wanted to try this place since it opened. Mind you, I've waited until the next day to give this review which I usually give my reviews before I leave. First impression. A nice place, kinda fancy, the chairs being metal looked uncomfortable, I sat in the 'booth' side of a table. Staff was friendly and attentive. Friday night. Busy but not too busy. I ordered the 12oz Ribeye ($45), cooked rare with Creamed Spinach and Blistered Asparagus. The sides were good, I enjoyed those. Yet, my plate didn't get turned loose of yet when I was already disappointed in the steak and informed the waitress as such. I'm expecting a small thick steak. I received a large thin steak, no thicker than my little pinky, approx 1/4 inch. Thin steaks are not steaks to me. They cooked another steak, no extra charge. It also was big & thin. I got to keep both and brought one home. The second was a bit bland in flavor/seasoning. I visited with the chef. I was told I could request a thick steak but I don't feel that should be a request, it should be a given for a steakhouse. I also found out that my steak was cooked in a skillet, which given the thinness, I could see why being that I ordered it rare. Yet, I can cook a steak in a skillet at home much cheaper. It was not a $45 meal. A day later & I'm still disappointed. The chef & I visited for nearly 30 minutes. The topic: food, cultural cuisines, flavor, spice, etc. I enjoyed the visit. I do try to give places another chance but in doing so, I'd try different menu items. If I were to return here, It's unlikely that I'd order steak again. I gave 3 stars because they tried to fix the situation.

Food was excellent. Charles Roberts makes a great old fashion. Enjoyed his outgoing personality and conversation. We'll be back.

Make sure you come early, grab a drink in the bar with Adeline and ask her for a hot toddy with brandy.

First time ever coming here. Me and my wife made it a date night . It's about an hour away from us,…read morebut had heard people talk about it, so finally decided to come! It's in a very small town, hardly anything at all but it seems this is the best place to come. We came in on a Friday night at around 6 and it was just starting to get busy. We did not have reservations but they were still able to get us in with no wait. The hostess was very friendly and informative. It didn't take long after we were seated for our waitress to greet us and take our drink order. Soon after our drinks were delivered we were brought bread and our food order was taken. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye which according to the menu is a "20-22oz bone in Ribeye". However, there was no bone in the Ribeye I received. I also added 2 quail medallions which are quail breasts stuffed with cream cheese, jalapeños and wrapped in bacon. As my sides, I ordered a side house salad and cowboy potatoes. Over all, the meal was very tasty, every thing I ordered, especially the steak (even though I think they gave be a regular ribeye instead of the Cowboy ribeye). You can tell they cook the steaks over an open flame, rather than just a flat top grill. A suggestion to the restaurant is with the steak knives. Both my wife and I got dull knives, which made cutting our steaks very difficult. My wife ordered the New York Strip. I won't write out my wife's opinion of her steak, but the only thing I will say from my perspective is that it was undercooked by about 2 temperatures. Overall, we enjoyed our date night here and are glad we came, but the in our opinion, although the food was good, there was nothing that just really stood out that we felt we could only get from here, that we would want to drive an hour out here again. If we are ever in the area though, we would definitely come back again, the food was good, just not extraordinary. The reason for 3 stars is that although my steak was good, it was the wrong steak. The knives were really dull and made cutting the steak very difficult. My wife's steak was two temperature undercooked and the bathrooms were very dirty.

They were out of half the menu. Service was okay. This place used to be our go to restaurant for…read moresomething "nice" because there are not a lot of choices where we live. Will probably never go back.
