My daughter who lives nearby took us here on a Monday night before Thanksgiving. On Monday it is $10 for 10 wings. I really enjoyed the wings and was able to watch Monday night football on the TV. They had a nice variety of whiskeys tequilas and beer. I definitely needed a few beers after trying the "butt burner" sauce which contains mainly Carolina Reaper pepper. First let me say I'm very picky and a big foodie. We were to busy eating and forgot to take pictures but the pictures on the website are exactly what it looked like. Those of you that know me, know that I'm all about hidden gems. Well Foster's may be the most hidden gem of them all. We're already talking East Texas and 2 lane roads, but that's what half the charm is. I don't know that if my friends weren't driving that I would have been able to find it on my own, but that's why it's good to have amazing friends. We pulled into an already full parking lot early on Thursday evening, and began our adventure. So Foster's isn't fancy or upscale, but what it does extremely well is make you feel at home. The bartenders and waitresses are extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have about food and drink options. Their tap beer list isn't the largest (12), but always great custom brews and always in rotation. I had the #1 that night, and I think the name had "dank" somewhere in it. It was smooth and delicious, and as far as I can remember after 4 of them, pretty strong : ) The food was typical bar fare; sandwiches, burgers, wings, and their homemade pizza, which was outstanding thin crust goodness. As it was a pretty large group of us, we ordered chips and salsa, the boneless mango habanero wings, the Black Butte BBQ wings, and the spicy wings. And then also the meat lover and the works pizzas. We were very full by the time we left. Everything was delicious, but the pizza was especially tasty. It was a good thing that there was also an extremely talented musician on hand as well. The sounds of her guitar and beautiful voice filled up, did not overpower the establishment. I'll put her name on here when I remember. As it was getting nearer to closing time, the dining area was being shut down, and we were able to continue being serenaded outdoors in the spacious patio are. The patio has a little play area and the cool Texas winds were keeping us comfortable late into the night. This is a great place for friends and family to come hang out, have a great meal, drinks, and enjoy each other's company. GREAT hidden treasure. Has an Ausin feel in the Piney Woods of East Texas. Ask the owner about the Ex Wife Chicken sandwich LOL, great story. Great Spot to come in general, but it's also the only place within 60 miles to get many various craft beers and good bourbon. Art (owner) knows his beers and bourbons. Great guy with amazing options to choose from at his Place ;) One of my favorite IPA's is Cigar City Jai Lai and he has it, which is something you don't expect in East Texas. First time here. Awesome atmosphere. Very laid back and down home. I know it is a pub but I actually decided to order a Lone Star. Ha. They actually had it. The sweet and spicy wings were very good. The dry rub was a little too salty for me but overall good. The ranch dressing could use a little thickness. "Oooh thick". Definitely will be back. Going to Foster's Place is always one of the highlights of visiting my hometown. The food is definitely traditional Americana, burgers, wings, BBQ, and American pizza. Typically my girlfriend and I split a pepperoni or The Eagle (I think that's what it's called) pizza or order sandwiches, typically a pulled pork and blue cheese burger. This past weekend we finally noticed the cheese bread on the menu. It's a three cheese blend with herbs on a pizza crust served with a side of marinara sauce and is absolutely amazing. While the food is great the best part of a visit is the huge beer selection. While they do have at least one of the big 3 on tap :( most of their taps and bottle storage are dedicated to great craft beers from amazing micro breweries that can be difficult to find at a lot of other places even in the DFW area. This past weekend was the last weekend for Stone Enjoy by 4.20.14 IPA and it was sold out everywhere in Fort Worth, but thankfully a trip to Winnsboro for Easter also resulted in a trip to Foster's who had a bottle of this amazing beer. If you're really into great beer and you're in the Winnsboro/East Texas area (or want to take a short trip from DFW on a weekend) Foster's is a must visit place. Art, the owner, and Jake, the bartender, are both incredibly knowledgable about everything they have available. My son and stopped in for a bite and beer while my wife and his fiancé were at a ladies wedding shower. We were very impressed with Art's (the owner) knowledge of beers and the wide varieties that he stocks. I had the fried chicken sandwich that was really good and spicy. Art is also a very friendly conversational guy, for an Eagle's fan. I say this jokingly as we had a great time talking about the Cowboys and Eagles rivalry and he was great to joke with and doesn't hold a grudge for the scolding that Drew Pearson gave the Eagle's fans at the NFL draft in Philly. So disappointed! We've heard nothing but great things about this place but it is terrible!! Pizza oven was going out but didn't tell us. We waited for 30 minutes for our food and then they let us know it would a bit longer because the oven was cooking slow. 30 minutes later they bring out pizza that was not fully cooked .. the dough was raw!! Then when we pointed it out they were going to put it back in the oven. No thank you! Service was EXTREMELY slow and there were only two parties in the restaurant including our group.
