This is a new restaurant in our area, went in for a birthday dinner. Not very busy at 4pm. Waitress was polite and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. It was our first time trying a Crab Boil and we enjoyed it. It was more than enough for the two of us but expectedly expensive. I thought it was tasty but my son found it too messy for him. Seafood was great, didn't need the potatoes or corn but I know it's traditional. Got a wimpy level 1 trifecta spice and found it just right for us, warm but not hot. Perhaps a bit overpowering. BETTER The place has been open less than a month and they will eventually lock down good habits and processes but they aren't quite there yet (the meals arrived at different times and I had to ask for silverware). These are minor annoyances and will not hinder us from returning. BEST I had the catfish and it was the BEST I've experienced outside of Louisiana! Catfish is one of those entrees that is easy to mess up (poor sourcing, overcooking, and lack of prep). However, the quality of the catfish I was served was exceptional and it was perfectly prepared. Catfish is often seen as an inferior fish but the overall experience was far superior to most cod and some halibut I've had here in the Pacific Northwest. read more

Tonight, we tried a new restaurant, Angry Crab Shack that recently opened in Everett Mall. It's a Seafood Boil restaurant, very similar to Pier 88 Boiling Seafood Restaurant in Lynnwood WA. We shared a Shrimp Boil and a 2 Lobster Roll plate with French fries. The Shrimp Boil is served in a plastic bag with oil and spices and that it was boiled in. The table is covered with a butcher block paper that you can eat the shrimp of off. The Shrimp Boil is ala carte, and no sides provided, unlike Pier 88 where you get potato and corn. The lobster rolls were excellent and very tasty. Overall, the food was good and the ambience was great. However, I would pick Pier 88 as a better seafood place. read more

I love seafood boils i don't think i've been to one in washington that i've been this dissapointed in im also not someone who complains but the food was so overcooked and dry. the shrimp were so tiny, corn was mushy and over cooked, hardly any sauce on the boil itself to even dip ur food in. Worst one ive ever had we did mention to staff and they were kind but i could tell they were annoyed with us. we weren't looking for a discount more just feedback but 3.50$ discount was added not sure why three dollars. place was extremely dead staff looked stressed and overwhelmed took almost 30 mins to get the bill and pay. would never come back. pier 88 is way better we just wanted to try somewhere new but save your money read more

Got the twin lobster rolls and they were cold as ice and flavorless. Don't know what the service was like because I got a to go order that I placed in the parking lot and waited the 25 minutes for so it's not like it was waiting very long. Butter tasted unsalted. Cajun fries were bland everything was bland. It was like they never heard of seasoning. Even my Pepsi was lacking. The absolute final nail in the coffin was the fact that I found two bits of lobster shell! If I could leave zero stars, I would. First and last time going. read more

We ordered shrimp and grits, king crab and dungeness, corn and potato with the lemon pepper and garlic sauces mild spice. And bread. We had the option of eating from the bag, a bowl, or right of the table. We chose table. They took care to fold up the sides of the paper table covering to prevent the sauce from spilling onto our lap. Everything was delicious! I wanted to go back the next day! I have been to angry crab shack many times, dinning in and taking out. This place never disappoints. Their food is amazing and always consistently good. Staff is always nice and helpful, the ambiance in the restaurant is catered for a seafood place but I love the tank with the crabs showing how big and fresh the food is. I absolutely love this place and my personal favorite is the sweat and tangy sauce with no spice because I can't handle it but that with some eggs and the sausage they have that you can add is just to good. Everyone who loves seafood should try this place at least once. Also their menu is very diverse and has many options and also price options so it doesn't have to break the bank but also if you're trying to spend a few you can also very much do that. Went to the angry crab shack tonight for dinner with my wife and kids. Me and my son had versions of the seafood boil, mine a mixture of Cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic with snow crab, shrimp, lobster tail, corn, and potato. and his just butter based with snow crab, shrimp, corn, and potato. We loved them, very good, no complaints. My wife had a Cesar salad, cup of chowder, and the fried oysters. She loved the salad, didn't like the chowder, and said the oysters were good but a lot of breading with not much oyster. My daughter had the kids chicken strips with French fries, we all loved the French fries but she didn't like the chicken strips. Our server Bre was very good and attentive. I was so excited to see this place opening! But my experience was a complete let down. Here are the complaints. We waited a significant amount of time before we saw an employee. And even longer still to be acknowledged, greeted & seated. The actual design of restaurant & the flow of tables made navigating through it difficult. The seating is horribly uncomfortable. The waiter was incompetent to say the least. They had almost no idea about the menu. They were not personable, friendly or happy to even be there. We went long periods of time without seeing waiter or really any staff to speak of. We had to twice get up to find someone to bring water & other long wait time essentials! Now to the food. It was average at best. Our food arrived & it was sloppily thrown onto the plates. One plate had food that was completely cold to the touch. I assume it was prepared first & it sat for a long time. The waiter delivered the food with about as much enthusiasm as a slug crossing a road. The wait time was ridiculous. The menu was unexceptional & uninspiring. And almost no options for a healthier choice. There was nothing appealing about this place except for their location. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

Very friendly staff, nice wide dining room with comfy sized tables for larger parties, very fresh and tasty seafood (especially the Dungeness Crab in the boil, and also the fried catfish basket -- not a fan of the traditionally thick, cajun buckwheat crust personally (though I hear it's authentic), but the fish inside is *so* thick, juicy and succulent~). Really excellent lemon pepper fries too (real potato, thick and fluffy inside but perfectly crisp outside~). The only recommendation I have would be to add more butter to the seafood bags to even out the seasonings since the corn had enough seasoning but the flavor was lacking due to not having enough butter. As well as adding more corn, sausages, and potatoes to the bags since those items don't cost that much to add more. This is our second time visiting Angry Crab Shack and they do not disappoint. Amazing customer service by the owner and wait staff. Everyone is always smiling, giving amazing recommendations, and always polite! We were celebrating our son's birthday during this visit and decided to give the neighborhood block party seafood boil a try. We got the trifecta sauce with our meal and everything was delicious! There was plenty for everyone to eat and we still had leftovers to take home. Being that we were celebrating a birthday, they ring a bell and loudly yell that someone was celebrating their birthday that day and bring you a dessert of your choice. The cornbread pudding with ice cream is something you do not want to miss! It was quickly devoured before a photo could be taken. It was good, better than most places around town for seafood. It is a nitch place though, something you have a specific desire for. Bring your wallet that is all I have to say. I had King Crab, corn, and sausage and that boil was $100. It was fun, I'd go again for the experience, but in truth not sure you get your monies worth. Service was great though. Our first trip was to celebrate our anniversary last week. It is a casual restaurant similar to some I've been to in Gulf Shores. I ordered a non -alcoholic drink Shack-a-colada and it was delicious. For dinner we had the Boil for Two and it did not disappoint. I think more corn and potatoes would be good. We also ordered bread to sop up the sauce. It was a small and under $3. Has a nice warm family dining experience. I sat at the bar and was greeted promptly. The prices were reasonable for shellfish by the pound based on my very recent experience on an Alaskan cruise. Basically, yeah, if you want the king crab, it will be pricey but worth it if it compares to what I had in Skagway, AK almost a week ago. I ended up with the twin lobster rolls. The ones on the cruise sucked. Anyway, these weren't so bad. Pretty tasty. I am gonna guess there are different types of lobster rolls. I am comparing it to the one I had in Rhode Island. Which has a butter and some greens (celery?) in the lobster mix. This one at the angry crab shack has a delicious butter toasted bun with a decent lobster mix. I asked for bo onions. The chunks of meat were soft and had that slight popcorn texture expected of lobster. My issue is that the first 2 bites did have a piece of shell I was able to easily identify and get out of of my mouth. Regardless. I enjoyed the rest of the roll. Oh, the Cajun fries are pretty yummy too. Although, I am willing to try out their other sides (Cole slaw) next time. And there will be a next time. read more

Always have a great experience here at Angry Crab Shack! Our server is always welcoming and makes sure we get everything we need in a timely manner. Such a spacious restaurant and kid friendly where they can see the crab and lobsters in the tanks! Food has amazing flavor and the spice levels are accurate! One little concern was the shrimp was a little overcooked and most of our blue mussels weren't all opened so we figured it wasn't all the way cooked. Other than that, everything else was delicious! I am not surprised it ia no longer Pier 88. They gave you so little food and charged so much for it that most people never go back after the first visit. We were a party of 6..and we were told that we got one corn, one potato with our boils...SERIOUSLY. the cheapest thing you can buy, we only get one each. And the manager only made it worse. I hope thia is not just a name change but a reexamination of your business...or it will just turn out the same way. I gave 2 stars cause i havnt been back since it changed from Pier 88.
