She was running ten minutes late so I totally get how that can be a hassle since I've been in the hospitality industry. It didn't feel the best to wait ten past my appt time plus the add'l ten mins I chose to arrive early. But again, I get it. She called my first name from the hallway when usually I've had estheticians come out all the way into the reception area and say, "hi my name is... I will be doing your [service] today." Ok. Fine...... No big deal to me I just want the thing done and it's okay. We entered the room and she didn't say a word so I got undressed. I hate being a prissy patron. I wasn't going to mind that the ladies usually say something nice when it's time to strip down and get on the table. This review wouldn't even exist if it weren't for how it went, overall: I tried to relax because I know some people have very serious faces, and maybe she was trying to catch up after being late. Tbh, I would be pissed at that point in my workday. But then she goes... "if you don't [get in a certain position] it's only gonna hurt more." I said something like, "I'll try my best..." (knowing that I'm way too uncomfortable at this point and anything from here on out is just gonna be reflex-reactions)... Finally after my asking for a few moments of pause so I could relax more, and she said something, I said, "I wasn't gonna say anything but you're making me really ill-at-ease." When I stopped it just before the last strip application she goes, "I don't think waxing is for you, love." I'm forty and look 15 but I used to get a Brazilian wax monthly throughout all my 20s. I guess they don't inform their Receptionist when a service is discontinued. Since the thought of having any other service done there made me anxious, I asked for a refund. They said no problem. Few days later I received another text saying that they had refunded my money. When I inquired as to where they refunded it too since it was a gift card, they said oh we don't refund gift cards. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau just to put them on notice. These people have no business sense whatsoever. They are a small local business who is risking their reputation for $100. I have also filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs. This is not a way to run a business.
