Regular pedicure was great! We called and got an appointment the next day- no waiting when we got there!

This has happened TWICE.... I call specifically to make an appointment with Tina. They said yes no problem. I get there and it's not Tina! They just flat out lie to you and do not care about your requests. The woman who served me seemed angry/fed up the entire time and was on her phone texting and making phone calls for most of the service time. Not to mention the quality is sub-par. All of the nails are extremely bumpy, and the shapes are uneven and crooked. I thought the first time was just a fluke, but this is now the second time and I will not be going back. Truly a shame because it was a great experience when I actually got serviced by Tina! read more

First, the pros. The guy who did my pedicure was fantastic! He took his time and was very thorough. Now, the cons. My gel manicure was horrendous. My cuticles are very dry and the lady who gave me the manicure didn't push, cut, or oil them! Basically she took off my old polish and then put on the gel. Afterward, she did not wipe off excess polish and when I asked for some oil on my cuticles he made some remark that I didn't understand. I would give more stars if she had simply corrected her mistakes, but she essentially didn't take responsibility for lazy work. read more

I'd been here a number of times before and had good experiences, but I had a mani-pedi here today, and was really disappointed. The woman was rough with my hands and feet and was rushing by the end of my manicure despite the fact that we were the only people there. She gave me a hard time for having dry feet and beat up toe nails (I'm training for a marathon, I know my feet have seen better days and don't need it announced obnoxiously to the room, thanks). She ripped through my cuticles until they bled, and didn't do anything to moisturize my hands until the last minute--at this point a few hours later, my hands are back to being dry and peeling. As she rushed through the end of my manicure she told me my toe nails were dry and put my shoes on for me. By the time I got home the paint on my big toes was a smeared mess. I'm a guy and I just got my second pedicure here and my first ever manicure. I went with two of my friends who have had many mani pedis before. The workers did a very thorough job and were very attentive. Since I don't ever really get these things done the lady working on me had to take extra time since my hands and feet were in rough shape but she was friendly from start to finish. My friend brought me here and I had never been to marmora nails before. My choice of place is always pinkys nails. Well, that was the first and last time I will be going back. The same girl did my pedicure and gel manicure. She did a wonderful job with my pedicure as far as taking her time, massaging my feet and being very gentle. I have gone places before where some people tend to be more rough and cause bleeding, so I was pleased with that. However, I feel as though a few extra coatings of polish could have been used. After my relaxing pedicure, the same woman gave me a gel manicure and when I say it looks like my 5-year old niece did my nails, I am not lying. I picked out a light blue, and apparently it was too light because she couldn't get the color to show up, not sure why. So I said I want it darker and she made me pick out a darker blue. The color blue I picked out was not what I wanted and it had sparkles in it, which was also not what I wanted. By the time she was finished, you could still see my nails through the polish and the next day, the gel and polish came off one finger. She also waxed my eyebrows, which were uneven and she said I could cover it up with liner. Needless to say, I won't be returning here but giving pinkys all my business!!!! read more

First visit to island nails and had a pedicure. Linda was my technician and she was very good. I found the place to be very clean, instruments sterilized and a happy environment. All and all I was very pleased and found the pedicure to be relaxing. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the massage could of been better but the hot towels were very nice. I was offered to upgrade to spa pedicure for an additional $5.00 and I guess I should of opted for that. Oh well next time. I will go back. read more

My daughter and I went here for powder manicure and removal of acrylic nails. They took us,of course, right away but then made us wait as there were 5 clients and only 3 workers! Our time was spent between 2 workers. The nail polish on powder gel lasted less than 1 week! Don't recommend this place read more

On my first visit they made me feel like I was at home. Introduced to this salon by a relative but by all means this is the only place I will now go. There prices are pretty much the same as all local south jersey nail salons and just like every other place they do try and up sell. All in all I love Marmora nails !! read more

The guy spent the entire time critiquing the work my nail salon did. Wait until my regular manicurist sees what this guy did to my nails! He couldn't (or was being intentionally vague) properly explain to me what he was suggesting. I asked about pricing for different services - none of the prices he quoted matched the price list hanging on the wall. (His verbal quotes were higher of course). He never had me wash my hands, and didn't use lotion or massage/hot towel. I was on vacation and in desperate need of a refill so I went there. I won't be going back! read more

Unclean, unprofessional and mediocre. Passing a foot buffer around before you clean it to use on someone else should not be tolerated.

I am no prima donna when it comes to getting my nails done. However, I do feel that when you are a paying customer (with the already high prices that are charged these days), you should receive the care you are paying for. All I went for was a simple manicure/clean up. I never get colored polish, and at the place I typically go to (they were closed today sadly), they at least put on a top/strengthening coat at the end. But in a nutshell from today at Marmora Nails, my cuticles were not all removed correctly, my nails were cut so short one in particular feels sore, the underneath of my nails were not cleaned, my hands were not massaged at all, and then the neglect of a top coat just "topped it off". I was finished in literally five minutes and felt completely rushed out. Meanwhile, within this five minute mess I was still trying to at least have a friendly conversation with the man doing my nails and he was very passive, unfriendly, and made me feel as if I was a bother. So for $15 it just simply did not seem worth the trip. Choose wisely my friends. read more

I'm only giving it two stars because the owner is very nice and professional. I was in today with my son and had a mani /pedi by Denise. Let's start with the fact that I work at upscale spa for 8 years and I am also an esthetician so I know the drill. Denise was rude !! She did not even greet me ..speak one word the entire time but with that aside what upset me the most Is that at the end of my gel manicure she did not ask me to wash my hands leaving Debris from the buffing to get stuck in my gel. I also said I like my nails short.. her response was " I know " Glad she knows being that she never met me. She half did the hand massage for less then a minute dropped my hands and said " your done " usually they remove the oil with a hot towel. When I asked her for a towel she got annoyed grabbed my hand wiped them and walked away. Not a thank you , not a goodbye , not a nice to meet you nothing !! Denise you are rude! And you lost your boss a good paying customer. I did not have cash to tip not knowing tips were cash only. I am an extremely good tipper because I work in the business. When I went to get money to tip her. I was so angry I got in my car and left leaving no tip because she did not deserve one. Denise get some customer service skills!! You going to need them being your work is so so. read more

I have been to this salon 3 times and have recommended it to probably 6 other people. The third time I went I asked for dark grey with sparkles in it for a dip powder manicure. I was suggested a color by the young man and it was dark grey with sparkles. Unfortunately, when the nails were done, the color was off white and the tips were changing to grey with the temperature inside. I was then told it was a MOOD CHANGING POLISH. my nails were her Horrendous! They look like dirty fingernails. I paid $35 and tipped $10 to the technician for his time making my total $45. I walked outside and the nails changed to dark gray. The only time I was satisfied with the color was when it was freezing cold outside. I went back two days later to have this corrected to a solid color and the woman-Denise attempted to charge me another $18 for the mistake. I told her it was their mistake and she continued to fight with me telling me that I chose the mood changing color initially. This went on for approximately 10 minutes until finally she said never mind. I suggest nobody go to the salon because customer service is awful. The way to correct this problem would've been giving me a complementary fix and I certainly would be coming back again and a nice tip would have been included. It's too bad Denise lost a customer instead of apologizing and moving on. Lesson learned and I'll never go back. Be careful when picking a color. Side note, I refused to pay and did not tip for the repair. Not only did she deny the mistake, she insulted me in front of 3 customers. Sorry Island Nails, you did me dirty! read more
